From one of the greatest Pats, top 3 on my book, JE:
"I don't wanna hear that Mac Jones is a rookie."
Exactly. I don't want any more pansy-ass excuses. If you're a starter for the Patriots, no matter how old you are or what your draft status is......PERFORM on SUNDAY.
I expect wins, and when we don't get them, we everyone needs to look in the mirror and improve. Don't give me any participation loser trophies.
EDIT: Pats-Cowboys replay on NFL Network right now.

A shiney ornament guy are you? And what if we had this special guy? Agholor is that guy who can get down field but Mac just doesn't have the time. The OL is the problem here. The trenches are where games are won or lost. We have poor blocking and penalties out the wahzoo. But we have to have that number 1 to instantly make things better. LOL. garytx nailed it.........Without blocking and protection, your skill positions mean 0.0 Watch how the offesive #s grow when they start winning up front....it's like magic. bad blocking by OL doesn't help, but that doesn't mean current WR or TEs are an automatic shoo in for a championship level offense. I think team needs 1 great route runner/catcher/yac AND 1 TE who can win majority of 50/50 balls and/or use body correctly in Red Zone. The team currently does not have any players that meet that description. Crap Red Zone offense since 2019 is strong evidence for that.

Hunter Henry led the NFL in TE TD's in 2016, he's tied for the fifth most TD's in the entire NFL right now... he's been a redzone threat his entire career. Jakobi Meyers has the 12th most receptions in the NFL right now, he catches 69% of his targets, he gets open at will. You "weapons" guys are delusional. In one game the Pats went from 32nd to 30th in redzone production, imagine if they keep improving at the rate they have been.

Try to listen to your daddy. Don't be a homer. I have criticized BB forever, in fact I said the coaching was bad early in the 2018 and you said I was wrong, that his young coaches instantly inherit his expertise... that the problem was talent. With no talent added that team improved and won a ring... so I was correct, which made you wrong. I criticize the coaches this year and you say I must "hate Belichick." Which is it, I can freely criticize Bill or I'm a homer? People typically accuse others of that which they despise most in themselves, you're a Brady/QB homer (except for Mac apparently) so you project onto others.

Does he have a TD this season? Nope. ZERO. And, are my eyes seeing correctly? ZERO TDs by Meyers in 3 seasons. Yeah, I already mentioned moving up 2 spots.......lol.

Gronk has 4 TDs in 3 games.....lol And he's been hurt for three games... You obviously struggle with how averages work, otherwise you wouldn't be so obsessed with red zone weapons after a month on a rebuilding team with a rookie QB and poor blocking. You said they have no weapons and that was a problem... you're wrong, and it has nothing to do with Gronk.

Jakobi is on pace for 102 receptions.
He ranks #12 in the entire league.
He's been getting better every year.
I'm very happy with Jakobi.

This team needs to start eliminating mistakes, and start hitting people - you know, like the Patriots of the past 20 years or so used to do. If they fall to the Jests for their 5th straight home loss, it's time to start checking in on MB's draft thread, and hoping for a top 5 pick.

The current state of affairs is that the Patriots are 2-4, and that the off season acquisitions - apart from Judon - have not paid off. Noone is saying individual players don't have talent or that the team can't improve. We all hope the OL, TEs, and RBs will do better job of protecting the QB AND do better with run blocking. We all hope that the WRs and TEs will do better job catching and yac. We all hope that the players don't turn the ball over and do better job with ball hawking. We all hope the Patriots will do better job in Red Zone and that the coaches do a better job coaching up players who need coaching up - and calling the right plays at the right time. NOONE has said they can't attain these goals - but they all have to prove it every game.
The current state of affairs is what it is - a 2-4 record.

Remember - all these close games that the Patriots are losing are being played in Gillette Stadium - not on the road. Isn't it time that Steve Belichick be re-assigned to equipment manager? Someone who knows what he's doing and is respected by the players needs to take charge over the Patriots' regressing secondary.

In his first three seasons Edelman had 1 TD... dig yourself a little deeper. RFLMAO I see that you continue to cherry pick without proper context. In 2009 the Patriots had Randy Moss, Gronk, Wes Welker, Kevin Faulk, and Brady. I’m 2010, Pats had Brady, Gronk, Welker, Faulk, Branch, and Crumpler for blocking. In 2011, Pats had Brady, Branch, Welker, Hernandez, Faulk. So, Patriots did not need Edelman to do anything except groom him Again the CURRENT state of Patriots is a 2-4 record. The fact is that Judon has left no doubt as to his return on investment. Hunter is still a distant second on ROI to date, but appears to be improving. The rest of the off season acquisitions have NOT met expectations- even if they came in with a decent resume. Meyer still has 0 TDs this season. Number of receptions is good; but the Patriots need another WR or TE (apart from Hunter) to actually score TDs AND execute better in Red Zone. Thanks for proving yourself wrong AGAIN. No one is saying the players can’t improve in all areas. But, what they have done previously with other teams means diddly squat. It only matters how they produce for the Patriots. And, the overall outcome collectively is sub par; as reflected by their record

If you run fora touchdown, isn’t it worth the same points, regardless of how you got there ie passing to meyers , hunter, angular or anybody else?

He is always open. but the games I have attended, he does not get much attention from the opposing teams. rarely is he double covered. Agholor did put up a very good season last year. he is not all of a sudden not talented. he is under utilized, and has a ton of missed opportunities. Smith has a ton of talent. he is under utilized and under performing. he has never produced to the extent that his contract warrants Harris has performed as expected. he is also dinged up as expected Mac has exceeded expectations, which were quite honestly low. he is coming on very nicely. but he has yet to put the team on his shoulders and win a game. I believe it is coming, but we have yet to see it
