I'm looking to see whether the Jets trade up more than they trade down. 2020, trade down in the second round. What a draft wipeout! #11 Mekhi Becton Gag! Pancakes! #59 Denzel Mims Junked after 2 years #68 Ashton Davis Who? #79 Zabari Zuniga Who? (I cut off after the third round) 2021, oodles of draft capital accumulated, that counts as a trade up in my book. #2 Wilson, the human volleyball! Mayday! #14 A big tradeup into the #14 slot, Alijah Very-Tucked, the guy came with very-tucked short arms. He had trouble with athletic pass-rushing defensive tackles because of those arms. He was sort of an OK lineman but not a #14. #34 Elijah Moore Who? 2022, just plain awesome draft capital, great picks for once. #4 Sauce Gardner, excellent, DROY. #10 Garrett Wilson, worth a #10 #26 Jermaine Johnson, pretty quiet guy after 2 years for a first rounder. trade up 2023, low capital #15 Will McDonald IV, they got nothing the first year for this guy so this was a mistake already, maybe better in 2024?? #43 Joe Tippman, who, so far, give him time?? You left out their 36th overall pick in 2022, stud RB Breece Hall. Tippman has taken over for them at OC. Their 2022 draft was as marvelous for them as the Patriots' 2022 draft was marvelously bad, and likely cost BB his job. That said, their 2020, 2021, and 2023 drafts are Clown Car, same ol' Jests material! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I spaced out and left Breece Hall off because he was the fourth player on the list. At #36 he's a find.
Jermaine Johnson isn't at all as bad as I thought initially. Yes he had a somewhat worthless (considering he was a #26 first rounder) rookie season but he was an above average edge defender last year. It's just that nobody bothered to write anything about his second season on his Wikipedia page.
I then left out third rounder Jeremy Ruckert. The guy caught 16 passes in his second season, not that good. It's fair to weigh the three most successful (compared to where they were drafted, extremely high) picks versus the modest disappointment of a third rounder.

Should the Jests draft at QB, OL, WR, or TE? Many "experts" have TE Brock Bowers going to Gag Green at pick #10. This from Peter Schrager:
This is a special prospect. In fact, I’ve been told by multiple general managers that I’m not high enough on Bowers and that his ability after the catch sets him apart from just about every tight end prospect since Kyle Pitts. Excellent player, a winner and another weapon for Aaron Rodgers to exploit — this pairing does indeed make a ton of sense.

A fake Aaron Rodgers article has reportedly made its rounds on social media. On Facebook, an article has been circulating that claims Aaron Rodgers was caught using CBD gummies during his Achilles injury recovery. It also claims that the future Hall-of-Fame quarterback faces a possible lifetime ban from the sport. The article, while presented to look like it came from Fox News, is a link to a CBD website that sells its own gummies. According to uStadium, the site has generated “hundreds of millions” of impressions from the article, which still remains on Facebook. Be aware: There is a fake Fox News article circulating and being heavily promoted on Facebook that claims Aaron Rodgers got caught for using CBD Gummies for his recovery and that the #NFL is investigating a potential lifetime suspension 🤦♂️ On the surface, the article could seem harmless. All it takes is a few clicks of the mouse or a quick Google search to determine that the article is a scam. In fact, the NFL itself is funding research to study the benefits of CBD. Yet, the article is a microcosm of social media’s dangers. Many people, for one reason or another, do not take the time to adequately determine if something is real or not. They take one look at an article or headline and assume its validity on the surface. This can cause false narratives to be created from sources of information that have no validity. Someone could draw a false conclusion about Rodgers from the article and spread it to people they know, causing the misinformation to propagate. In a different situation, an aggregator can create a narrative around a team or player with a simple post that has barely any truth to it. Many different factors can cause these different situations, whether it is a lack of responsibility from companies, bad actors trying to sow misinformation for a gain of some kind, or people not having the necessary media literacy skills. Ultimately, the fake Rodgers article shows how vital it is to distinguish accurate information from fake information. While not a severe situation, it underlines the impact the spread of false information can have on the narratives of teams and players in the NFL. jetsxfactor.com/2024/04/16/ny-jets-fake-aaron-rodgers-article-social-media/Gee...you mean that there's such a thing as "fake news", and that you can't trust social media, or even the national media? Good morning to all my posting pals, and greetings and felicitations to y'all in Green Gotham! Bill Belichick has hinted that he did intend to screw the New York football Jests in the 2023 draft. He did so when he traded his 14th overall pick (one ahead of the Jests at #15) to the Pittsburgh Steelers in exchange for the Steelers' 17th overall pick and their 4th round pick. Everyone knew how badly the Jests needed to land an OT...as did the Steelers. There was just one quality OT prospect remaining on the board in Georgia OT Broderick Jones. The trade with the Patriots allowed he Steelers to swoop in just ahead of Gag Green to take Jones. Appearing on the “Pat McAfee Show,” Bill Belichick spoke about his trade down that allowed the Pittsburgh Steelers to draft Georgia tackle Broderick Jones one spot ahead of the Jests. We only traded back a couple of spots. We were pretty confident that the Steelers were looking for a tackle, and we were pretty confident that the Jests weren’t going to take a corner because they had taken [Sauce] Gardner the year before. We thought both teams were looking for the same thing…we were really interested in the corner,” said Belichick. “We would have stayed and taken Gonzalez if there wasn’t a trade available. But we had the option to move back a couple of spots. Of course, we didn’t know that the Steelers would take the guy the Jests wanted. I mean, I would say we weren’t heartbroken that it happened, but that’s the way it goes.” Bill Belichick basically confirmed on the McAfee Show that when the #Patriots made their Draft Day trade with the #Steelers (#14 to PIT for #17 + a 4th) it was somewhat in an effort to screw the #Jets. They knew NYJ was in on OT Broderick Jones and that they wouldn’t have taken a CB. jetsxfactor.com/2024/04/18/ny-jets-bill-belichick-patriots-2023-draft/LOL!!!!!!!!!!

Despite the free agency acquisitions, the OL situation for the Green Goblins still is problematic. The New York football Jests have not made a decision on offensive lineman Alijah Vera-Tucker’s fifth-year option yet. They have until May 2 to pick up the option. “We haven’t talked about that yet,” General Manager Joe Douglas told beat reporters Friday. “We have a little time after the draft. I’ll definitely update you guys on that post-draft.” The option would cost the Jests a guaranteed $15.313 million for 2025, so it would seem likely the team would decline the option. The 14th overall pick in the 2021 draft has played only 12 games the past two seasons because of injury. He tore an Achilles five games into the 2023 season. He started 16 games as a rookie, and his 28 career starts have been mostly at tackle, but he also has played guard. www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/jets-still-deciding-whether-to-pick-up-fifth-year-option-for-alijah-vera-tuckerLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best guess, Very-Tucked isn't worth $15 million. He doesn't have gorilla arms, he has squirrel arms. His arms were in the 7th percentile of arm length, I once read. That's why he can't seem to stop athletic defensive tackles from going around him. The Jets would be better off playing Conor McDermott, except the Patriots poached him off of the Jets practice squad, or Broderick Jones, except Pittsburgh jumped ahead and drafted him with New England's help.
Of note, the Jets specifically jumped one slot ahead of the Patriots in order to draft Mr.Very-Tucked.

McDermott sucked so bad that when the Jets first 11 lineman got hurt, he was still on the practice squad. He sucked just as bad for us. I don't think it's called poaching when the guy blows. But you're right about AVT, not worth 15 mil. Although his versatility would be beneficial to most teams, he needs to be able to make it through a season. ..... And then we took Mac. I wonder if we'll pick up his option.

To be effective with those alligator arms of his, he has to play guard...not tackle. If the Jests were smart, they would draft at OT or WR. It's a deep draft for those positions. That said, I had to preface "if the Jests were smart"...something we've rarely seen during their past 55 years of tomfoolery and futility. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He sucked just as bad for us. I don't think it's called poaching when the guy blows. "The veteran offensive tackle signed a two-year, $3.6 million contract extension with the organization that filled out his draft card, as detailed Wednesday by ESPN’s Field Yates.
The agreement, which was reached last weekend, includes a reported $750,000 in playing-time incentives for both the 2023 and 2024 campaigns. Those bring the backup-level base value to a maximum value of $5.1 million.

The Jests continue to amuse with their pitiful efforts to get something in a trade for quarterback bust Zach Wilson. Today, GM Joe Douglas repeated the montra of Jests' owner Woody Johnson, insisting that Zach Wilson is "an asset". This after two years of all but referring to him as an asshole who can't play...and blaming Zachy for Gag Green's failures. It can't come as a surprise for the Jests, who have openly signaled their willingness to move on from Wilson for months but haven't settled on a trade. Rich Cimini (Gag Green's Mike Reiss) has previously described Wilson's contract as a "deterrent" in the Jests' prospects of finding a deal. Wilson, who set to cost $11.2 million against the Jests' cap next season, comes with a guaranteed salary of $5.45 million, according to Jason Fitzgerald of Over the Cap. Fitzgerald predicts that the Jests will need to retain "at least half" of that salary in order to find a trade partner following Wilson's struggles. Last season he led the Jets to a 4-7 record while throwing for eight touchdowns and seven interceptions. Retaining money would still be a better deal for the Jets than cutting Wilson. A release would not only guarantee the Jests lose their 2021 No. 2 pick for nothing, but would also cost the team Wilson's entire cap hit in dead money, per "Over the Cap". Other obstacles in finding a trade partner could be timing, as other teams who began the offseason in need of a backup quarterback filled the position, as well as the Jests' own comments regarding Wilson's 2023 performance. Jests' owner Woody Johnson said in February that the Jests "didn't have" a backup quarterback to replace an injured Aaron Rodgers last season, per Brian Costello of the New York Post...but, but, but, I thought the Jests viewed Zachy as an asset?? It's doubtful that GM Joe's asset declarations made today will raise Zachy's seemingly nonexistent trade value. bleacherreport.com/articles/10117673-joe-douglas-says-jets-are-obviously-open-to-zach-wilson-trade-calls-qb-an-assetLOL!!!!!!!!!!

Not sure what you're point is. That he was the best run blocker on a terrible offensive line that was bottom ten yards per attempt? OK. He still sucks. What does that say for the rest of the OL when CM is your best run blocker?

They gain no financial advantage by doing so. At some point, a team will be desperate enough to give up something.

Good afternoon to all my posting pals, and greetings and felicitations to all my gold mine friends in Green Gotham. Though the New York football Jests have filed for a divorce from failed quarterback Zach Wilson long ago, the matter still lingers in the bowels of Green Gotham. Though both team owner Woody Johnson and team GM Joe Douglas publicly insist that Wilson is an "asset", they have been unable to convince the rest of the 31 teams in the league to adopt this as fact. Next week’s draft feels like the best chance the Jests have left of trading Wilson. Most of the quarterback seats are taken, both starting and backup, or will be filled in the draft. But maybe there is a team that misses out on a quarterback target next week and is willing to take a flier on Wilson. If the Jests can’t move him during the draft, it’s time to move on. The Jests should release Wilson if they wake up April 29 and no trade has materialized. It’s time for the heir to the Johnson & Johnson fortune to rip the Band-Aid off. There is about to be a flood of optimism around the Jests. There always is after the NFL draft. Fans will be excited about whomever they add at No. 10. Rodgers is back on the practice field. They have added some exciting free agents. Wilson’s presence on the roster will be a drag on that. It is not worth it for the Jests to continue to carry him on the roster. It’s pretty clear that Wilson no longer wants to be in Florham Park and the Jests no longer want him in Florham Park. If they can’t find this "asset" a new team next weekend, it’s time to finalize the divorce, Woody. nypost.com/2024/04/19/sports/jets-have-to-change-zach-wilson-stance-if-they-cant-trade-qb-during-nfl-draft/LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning to all my posting pals, and greetings and felicitations to y'all in Green Gotham!
Draft chatter in Green Gotham has generally centered upon Georgia TE Brock Bowers and one of the top 3 available WRs - Marvin Harrison Jr., Malik Nabers, and Rome Odunze. Word is that if any of these four fall to the Jests at pick #10 overall, that Gag Green will let Aaron Rodgers decide on the pick (LOL - when will they learn). The Gag Green WR fallback plan appears to be WR Brian Thomas, who the Jests have reportedly spent a ton of time considering.
That said, GM Joe Douglas might want to keep in mind that his bookend OTs are both 33 years old. In his podcast, Mike Francesa has flat out stated that GM Joe should be chastised if he doesn't draft a tackle to back up the team's 33 year old "stalwarts".
As for the possibility of retaining the 25 year old Flap-jack King Mekhi Becton as the OT backup, it doesn't look as if it's an option they're considering. Becton appears to be viewed by them in the same light as they view Zach Wilson.
Gag Green will likely roll with former fourth-round draft picks Carter Warren and Max Mitchell, who are both under contract, unless general manager Joe Douglas adds a tackle in next week's NFL Draft.
Meanwhile, there doesn't seem to be much interest in Becton's services around the NFL. Recently engaging in a back-and-forth with a social media user that called the former No. 11 overall pick "a bust," Becton has made his X account private.
After missing nearly two full seasons due to right knee injuries, Becton, who turned 25-years-old this month, displayed durability in 2023 but his performance was lacking at times. He was flagged for a team-high 16 penalties and allowed 12 sacks in 16 games according to Pro Football Focus.
Becton also remains a threat to retain his Flap-jack crown for years to come.
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning to all my posting pals, and greetings and felicitations to y'all in Green Gotham! There's been lots of talk about the Jests selecting TE Brock Bowers with their first round pick, the 10th overall selection. Why might GM Joe Douglas go this route? $21 Million Jets Veteran in Danger of Losing Starting Job: Analysis: One man’s potential downfall is another man’s opportunity. The New York Jets are the betting favorites to land Georgia tight end Brock Bowers in the 2024 NFL draft. That is according to ESPN’s analytics which tracks the percentage chance of each player being taken with the No. 10 overall pick in the first round. If that comes to fruition, veteran Tyler Conklin could be out of a starting role according to Gary Davenport of Bleacher Report. “Tyler Conklin may not be a household name among NFL tight ends, but he has quietly become a solid contributor for the New York Jets offense over recent years. In each of the past three seasons, the 28-year-old has been targeted 87 times. He has averaged 60 catches over that span and surpassed 550 receiving yards in each of those campaigns,” Davenport explained. “The problem is that with the 10th overall pick in this year’s draft, the Jets are squarely in the mix for tight end Brock Bowers.” Conklin, 28, is entering the final year of the $21 million contract he signed back in 2022. What about a two TE offense, you ask? The Jests rarely ran such an offense last year. heavy.com/sports/new-york-jets/tyler-conklin-benched-for-brock-bowers/Is Bowers, a 240 pound TE, merely a blown up WR? After Bowers, there's a huge drop off at the TE position, which is perhaps the weakest prospect position in what is a very deep draft, especially at QB, WR, and OL. He appears to be an Aaron Hernandez type TE, rather than a potential Gronk. Has been compared to Buffalo TE Dalton Kincaid. I'm of the view that taking him 10th overall is too rich. Gag Green would seemingly be better off perhaps to trade down from 10th overall - or to focus on their OL, where they have a pair of 33 year old OTs. Should one of the top three WRs Harrison, Nabors, or Odunze slip, look for Gag Green to go in this direction. Though Bowers is by far the best TE prospect available in the draft, the Jests seemingly have other, more pressing needs. That said, Jests GM Joe Douglas might think about what Travis Kelce has done for the Kansas City Chiefs - and what stud rookie TE Sam LaPorta did last season to help transform the Detroit Lions' offense.

I have no issue with punishing the Falcons, but if they give that pick to another aggrieved team (Vikings/Giants) it will be total BS. We didn't get the Dolphins pick for tampering with Brady, even if he didn't end up there... it was tampering nonetheless.

Unfortunately, Atlanta losing their #8 overall pick helps the Jests...and you know how Jests Goodell loves his former employer. I wonder how much this New York born political stuffed shirt has been influenced by his time being employed by Gag Green? He had evolved into the most dishonest, corrupt, fan unfriendly Commissioner in the history of sports.
