I like what I am hearing. Very early on, but Bentley and Uche sound sincere about building camaraderie and team/locker room Culture.

Maybe Uche will play more than the 30% of the snaps he did last year, even with Judon out.

These guys were all here last year…they couldn’t build culture or comraderie last year? Or in years prior?

These guys were all here last year…they couldn’t build culture or comraderie last year? Or in years prior? There was a great deal of turmoil and chaos the last couple years. Divided factions developed over QB preference, some malcontent by a number of players, injuries decimating the team in record fashion, high turnover among coaches and schemes, losses and a sense of hopelessness mounting week after week, and a sense of the HC and the coaching staff in general not having a sufficient handle on things. Under those conditions, it's exceptionally hard to build culture and comradery. The slate has been wiped clean, new pieces are on the board, that makes it a whole lot easier to do provided you have team leaders and coaches working together with an eye toward building something special.

This reminds me of in school when you had a strict teacher and how relaxing it was when you had a substitute teacher for the day. Also reminds me of something Fauria said after BB was fired. He said the sentiment in the building was "the witch is gone, you can all come out now".
The defense played just fine. They must have had something. They sure didn't seem dysfunctional to me. The offense however, was a different story. I think BB lost the offense in 2022. Mac exacerbated the problem.
Let's enjoy these kumbaya moments. The players are clearly happy. They love Mayo. Their parent is now a friend. What can go wrong?

Modern players, adversity to lead through troubled waters is their kryptonite. Heaven forbid anything is ever a lil tough or difficult these days.

Modern players, adversity to lead through troubled waters is their kryptonite. Heaven forbid anything is ever a lil tough or difficult these days. That will be the big test for the new regime, and especially Mayo. It's all wonderful to think there is a big love fest going on with the team now. The players all love each other. The coaches love the players. They love the coaches right back. Love is everywhere. But when adversity comes their way, and it will, I'm not sure their way works. Maybe it works in an office of accountants. I just can't see it working in this environment. Can I say this for certain? No. Maybe they'll prove me wrong. Maybe I'm just old and out of touch. Maybe a lot of us are. But I'll have to see it to believe it. They may come out the gate strong. There will be the usual suspects who want to be the first to thump their chests. But eventually they'll get on a losing streak, or a WR is going to complain about a lack of targets, Mayo trades a player some guys liked, or some other controversy unfolds, and that will be the true test.

These guys start losing , blaming BB will get old. So when do they get full responsibility/blame? I say it’s now. You never trash your predecessor, you show how you’re better. All the balls are in the air and it’s mayo/Wolf and thunder sticks hands now juggling them.

At this time, I expect them to go about 6-11 for Mayo's year one of the rebuild.

They kept the team together and improved the QB room big time. It’s on Mayo / Wolf now. someone better let Karp know I continue to believe that Mac with AVP, McAdoo, Mayo and an improved OL and targets is a better QB than Brissett. of course no one will never know, but I believe Mac will be playing QB in the league somewhere for a long time.

I think the culture wasn't the biggest issue here last year, more-so the lack of talent and the lack of a true franchise QB. Coaching also declined after years of coaches being poached from other NFL teams. The culture needs to evolve, and it sounds like Mayo and co. are trying to do just that, but the first step to truly getting back to contention is fixing the talent on offense. We've already taken steps in that direction.
That said, glad guys like Trent Brown and Jack Jones are gone. They were definitely not contributing to a positive culture lol

The mere existence of Mac Jones didn’t ruin the culture, having an owner insist Mac Jones play when all his teammates and coaches plainly see that he suck’s is a morale killer.
