Is it me or does Edelman look smaller than he had been ? I also noticed him not breaking tackles and a tad slower...think he is nearing the end. Just my opinion.
Also Gronk definitely looks slower getting downfield. Also getting older.
Just for shits and giggles...why have we phased out Dorsett? He has made some good catches while here. Seems like we have given up on him.

I don’t know about smaller. He doesn’t look as explosive as he has been.
Gronk looks a step or two slower and not getting the separation on his routes he use to get.
We are getting older and these guys have been through wars.

He's off the PEDs.

In fairness, he's also a year off ACL reconstruction. Takes two years to get all the way back, unless your Adrian Peterson or Wes Walker. Everyone else, 2 years. Problem is, he's old (and off the PEDs).
I hear his pliability is off the charts though, so there's that.

I don't see any noticeable difference with JE. When you consider the injury that he has come back from, I think it's amazing how much he does look like himself. As for Gronk, I think part of what is going on, is that teams are dealing with him differently.
With respect to Dorsett? I don't know what the deal is with him. Seems to me, he has done a very good job, when he has been out there. Maybe they're dealing with him, in the same sort of way they handled Amendola? Using him sparingly during the bulk of the regular season and then increasing his work load as they head into the playoffs.

I didn't expect Edelman to come back looking like his old self. I expect him to improve as the season progresses though. Up to this point he is but one of several players who haven't looked like themselves. Gronk looks off, Hightower has been off most games, DMC has looked off most games, Brady has perplexed me with his decision making at times, our special teams look off. Maybe it's the SB loser's curse. The team in general just looks a little off right now.

Edelman needs to stop with the BS shenanigans after every play, he has narrowly avoided penalties in moments where the game was very much in doubt.
Play ball Jules, stop acting like a tough guy and causing fights.

Physically, #11 still looks pretty rocked up to me, and while he'll prob never get back to what he was 3 years ago (which make sense, given his age and injury history), he's still a good, productive player. As for #87, I'd agree that he doesn't look like the dominant force that we've become accustomed to... and you have to wonder how much of that is a lingering injury, and/or how much of that is modifications to his training regimen (i.e. more TB12) and/or years of giving and taking poundings taking their toll (he'll be 30 next year).

Hes a competitor but its going to cost them a game at some point if he doesnt tone it down. As far as his play goes hes getting up there in age but hes still very good imo and a big part of their offense.

He was listed as "questionable" for last night's game, due to that injury.

With respect to JE, I've noticed that he's not who he was prior to the injury but he was still effective last night. I attribute the apparent falling off to rust and injury recovery. I think he'll continue to be productive.
With respect to Gronk, it looks to me like he's a step slower. Is that the ankle, the back, father time? I dunno.

Dealing with him differently now than before? or, dealing with him differently based on the team? i would say now. Buffalo was perfect example. In the past they wouldn’t be physical at line and Gronk destroyed them. Last night they were all over him.

Edmunds was a guy i wanted and would have been perfect had we traded a couple of spots. We still would have kept our other pick.

I must be watching a different player? I thought there was a real chance his career might be over as well as not looking the same when he did come back.
I was wrong.
He came in and is playing as well as he ever has imo, and that is while playing lesser snaps as he gets his feet under him. He is fighting for the extra key 2 or 3 yards on every catch. He is diving forward as his his forte, he is beating guys deep which is not his forte, and he is coming up with key catches(as usual)
I also passionately disagree with wozzy and a few others who think he should stop with the shit talking. That is EXACTLY what this team needs imo. A leader out there barking and fighting and getting his guys riled up! He is the clear cut emotional leader of this team and imo we probably win last years Superbowl based on nothing other then his emotional leadership on the field in key situations...and a few of the best catches in SB history doesn't hurt.
Keep it up Jules, you are the Dustin Pedroia of the N.E Patriots. Never back down brother!

Gronk more of a worry than Jules. He is either bothered by injury or it could be the beginning of the end. He is nowhere near as effective as he has been. Media is starting to mention it as well so hopefully it fires him right up.

Edelman looks fine to me, he hobbled around for a couple of plays in the first half but overall looks good.
Gronk on the other hand really looks like he’s playing in pain. Back problems more than likely

Edelman's stats from Bills game:
9 receptions on 10 targets for 104 yards 2 rushes for 13 yards
Gronk's stats from Bills game:
3 receptions on 8 targets for 43 yards (1 of those a truly Gronk-like catch along the sideline)
