I can't get worked up about this "scandal." Rich people pay to get their kids an advantage, film at 11. Yawn. This one and college basketball coaches getting prosecuted for giving kids money. Who cares? How's that even a crime? I put all of this crap in the same boat as investigating Asian massage joints. Doesn't law enforcement in this country have actual criminal activity to investigate, they gotta spend time on this nonsense? Frankly, they're the ones who should be investigated for stealing taxpayer money. If we want a meritocracy and so the ability for your efforts to decide how far you go then we need to address these sorts of things. It is hard to get worked up about it because it is in fact the character of our country now. .Not just the rich but certainly so. We cannot name an industry (or walk of life if you will) - even education, health care, politics, insurance, financial, energy, legal, religion, etc, etc, where this sort of trait is not prevalent - even predominant. So we clearly need to start to address it BECAUSE it is so much everywhere you look. If we do not want things LIKE preferential treatment of any group than this is one area that needs to be very much included. If you do not like affirmative action for example then this is not to be overlooked. If you are for affirmative action then this is undermining the very principle you are trying to foster. In other words we ALL have great reasons to AGREE on this issue even while you are right and it is eminently understandable to feel what you have expressed. To me this is Afirmative Action. The only people being negatively affected are the smelly Trump voters in Walmart. The silent majority. The overlooked and forgotten ones. The elites and the protected classes get theirs and the white working class is left with whatever lands on the floor. Just my opinion but I didn’t go to Yale. (I didn’t vote for Trump either)

And that it flies in the face of meritocracy. So why say Trump voters and why say "smelly"? Gee let's call each other names and make ourselves feel good while we enforce dehumanizing each other.... Come on. Leave out the BS that is destructive and stick to the essence of things... And guess what... everyone seems to agree that it was unethical, unfair and illegal. And that those who did it should pay a price. WHY ARE WE SHITTING ON EACH OTHER EVEN WHEN WE AGREE?

Here's my solution:
All college applications are anonymous.
each applicant is only a number a combination of the sum of their social security number and birth date and Your Grades are sent along a ranking of your High School which percentile it lands in from some objective non-governmental agency Standardized Scores use the same fixed control number School Activities are an addendum to your grades Essays are tricky since people can codetalk certain things, but we'll leave that as is
All State Schools must follow this format All Private Schools accepting Government funding, as well Private and No Govt money - do what you want

(“Smell the Trump voters” is part of the actual quote) I didnt really say anything partisan. Affirmative action has been supported by the establishment for very close to 50 years now. The priveledged people, no matter what political party, have never paid the price. This scandal shows exactly that. The victims haven’t changed.
