Agreed. Unfortunately, Atlanta losing their #8 overall pick helps the Jests...and you know how Jests Goodell loves his former employer. I wonder how much this New York born political stuffed shirt has been influenced by his time being employed by Gag Green? He had evolved into the most dishonest, corrupt, fan unfriendly Commissioner in the history of sports. Even league help and favoritism hasn't helped them... lol.

Credit GM Joe Douglas. He did one hell of a job to get anything for Wilson. The Jests got pick #203 from Denver for pick #256. Part of the deal is also that the Jests need to eat a portion of the over $5 million owed to Zachy. My guess is at least half: nfltraderumors.co/trade-jets-trading-qb-zach-wilson-to-broncos/

it takes a lot to overcome the Goat HC runing your career, or trying to. time will tell if Mac gets the chance to show what he can do in a real offense How come Joe Burrows career hasn’t been ruined playing behind the league’s worst line, how come Herbert’s hasn’t been ruined playing on a bad Charger team? Mac sucks… the answer is simple.

More nonsense from the Charter Member of the BB Sucks Club. You ought to be ashamed of yourself after the brilliant job that BB the coach AND general manager did from 2001-2018, holding this team together - leading and building teams that went to 9 SBs over that 18 year span. Yep...he sucks.

Good morning to all my posting pals, and greetings and felicitations to y'all in Green Gotham! Now that Zach Wilson has been jettisoned to the Denver Broncos, the Jests can turn to their do or die 2024 season. As a result of the Denver trade, the Jests managed to move up from pick #256 to pick # 203. Additionally, the deal means the Jests will save $2.75 million in cap space - but Wilson leaves about $8.5 million in dead money. Per Over the Cap, the Jets have about $2.8 million in cap space heading into the draft. jetswire.usatoday.com/2024/04/23/jets-to-split-zach-wilsons-2024-compensation-with-broncos/The Jests can also put the Wilson family of Utah behind them - just as Zachy and the Wilson family can now wash off the slime from their interaction with Gag Green, and the New York metropolitan area: nypost.com/2024/04/22/sports/zach-wilsons-mom-celebrates-qbs-fresh-start-with-broncos/Good luck Zachy!

Good morning to all my posting pals, and greeting and felicitations to my gold mine friends in Green Gotham! With it finally official that Zach Wilson's time driving the green and white Clown Car has passed, the Jests posted to him, "Thank you", and Zachy responded, simply saying, "THANK YOU" back. Upon learning of this, the response from Jests fans was, "thank you for what?" Are you saying thank you to the Jests for allowing you to "earn" your $5.5 million dollar salary? Are you thanking them for them allowing you to flee Green Gotham and return close to Utah, via a trade to Denver? Are you thanking the Jests for trading you to a team which has a very good head coach, where you will be given a chance to earn a starting spot? Or, are you thanking the fans for not lynching you despite the horrible numbers you put up while donning the green and white? Zach Wilson is headed to the Denver Broncos. The young quarterback has not had the most ideal time with the New York Jets so he got shipped off the replace Russell Wilson in Colorado. This means that Coach Robert Saleh will have to fully commit to Aaron Rodgers next season and also no longer have a long-term project with the signal-caller now out of his wing. Before any of that happened, they had to bid farewell to him. Zach Wilson got his own goodbye post which was posted by the Jets. It had a graphic with his cutout on it and was inscribed with the words, “Thank You.” The Jets faithful were confused as to why they were thanking him after he was acquired by the Broncos. It even prompted some unhinged reactions from avid spectators of their team. Some fans were more analytical in dissecting why the thanks were not worth their time, “Genuinely I’m not being mean. Thank you for what? He had a Super Bowl-caliber defense for two years and literally the best two Offensive players in the game and won 7 games. Twice. Not to mention his hell hole of a rookie year.” Others were carried away by their emotions and just let it rip, “Thank you for being a bust. Worse than Blair Thomas. Only second to Vernon Gholston. Zach had 3 total good games. Can’t believe we didn’t keep Darnold. Rodgers needs to win. Not just 10. But a SUPER BOWL. Anything less is unacceptable.” However, a select few appreciated his time with the Jets. “Another QB chewed up and spit out by the Big City. Zach Wilson showed promise at times. But, he could never overcome an evolving situation that never really favored his skill set. Unpopular opinion: I think Zach will earn the QB1 position in Denver before the bye week. RIP #PlanZ,” a user wrote. The Jets have been with him since he got drafted back in 2021. Since then, huge expectations were also passed onto him because he was presumed to be the next franchise star. Unfortunately, that did not pan out as expected. If that did not happen, Robert Saleh would not have wanted Aaron Rodgers nor would they have traded Wilson to the Broncos. Will the Denver Broncos go with the newly-acquired Zach Wilson as their starting quarterback this season? For some depth there? Nonetheless, he still put up serviceable numbers for the Jets. The most games that he has played was back in his rookie season. After a 13-game campaign, he notched a career-high 2,334 passing yards and nine touchdowns. Wilson was able to accomplish this by recording a decent 55.6% completion percentage. The big drawback was that he threw 11 interceptions which Jets fans did not like. In his second season, the Jets only got to play him for nine games. This is when he hit big lows after just passing for 1,668 yards on a 54.5% completion percentage. His problem when it comes to throwing picks? Well, it did not get better as he threw seven of them while only scoring six touchdowns. His last season with the Jets saw him become Aaron Rodgers’ injury replacement. Wilson played 12 games for Robert Saleh but only started in 11 of them. He reached the peak of his completion percentage at 60.1% and got his touchdowns up to eight. But, he also got sacked 46 times which prevented the Jets from getting any sort of offensive momentum. Good morning to all my posting pals, and greetings and felicitations to y'all in Green Gotham! The dilemma is real for the Jests as they embark on Thursday night’s NFL draft first round. The Jests must break from the age-old draft mantra cliché that says to take “the best available athlete’’ when their No. 10 overall pick arrives and instead chase “the best available player who can help them win now.’’ They have no choice but to get it right this time in the draft, because there will be no next year for general manager Joe Douglas and head coach Robert Saleh if they don’t win in 2024. We’re going on 14 years since the last time the Jests were in the postseason, and owner Woody Johnson is growing understandably impatient. Johnson, who’s 77, is fast approaching the stage of impatience his predecessor Leon Hess reached in 1995, when he famously declared: “I’m 80 years old and I want results now’’ the day he fired Pete Carroll and hired Rich Kotite. We all know how that worked out. Hess never got the results he sought. Johnson hopes quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who’s presumably healthy and recovered from his ruptured Achilles suffered in the season opener last year, can deliver those results he so craves. If the 40-year-old Rodgers is going to be able to do that, though, he’s going to need some more help around him on offense — and that means more skill-position talent. That means drafting one of the top receivers (Marvin Harrison Jr., Malik Nabers or Rome Odunze) or the top tight end (Brock Bowers) in the first round. Do the Jests need help on the offensive line? Absolutely they do. Don’t they always? But Douglas, who arrived here in 2019 with a reputation as an offensive line specialist, has failed spectacularly in his efforts to build a great offensive line for the better part of the five years he’s held the post. The days of building the team for the future are done for Douglas. The only way he should take an offensive lineman in the first round is if, for some reason, Notre Dame’s Joe Alt falls into his lap. Alt, by all accounts by draft experts, is a plug-and-play prospect who would help immediately. If you read the tea leaves from Douglas’ pre-draft press availability last week, you got the feeling he was greasing the skids to pick a skill-position player. His owner, after all, was recently quoted as saying “offense, offense, offense’’ when asked what his team needs. Johnson, to be sure, was not referring to more offensive linemen who may or may not (Mekhi Becton) work out. He was referring to players who can get into the end zone, which has been a less-traveled place for the Jests for far too long. Harrison caught 14 touchdown passes in each of the past two years for Ohio State. Nabers caught 14 TD passes last season for LSU. Odunze caught 24 in the past three seasons at Washington, including 13 last season. Bowers had 26 receiving TDs and five rushing the past three years for Georgia. That’s a lot of firepower from those four players — production that would only be enhanced by Rodgers, who has a gift for making the players around him better. “When you look back at some other situations where a player like Aaron has gone, there have been key playmakers around him,’’ Douglas said. “We have some dynamic players around him already with Garrett [Wilson], adding [receiver] Mike Williams, [running back] Breece [Hall]. We love our tight end room where it’s at with Conk [Tyler Conklin] and Ruck [Jeremy Ruckert]. So, we feel like we have a lot of good players to help Rodgers out. They need more. “There are a lot of special players on the offensive side of the ball,’’ Douglas said of this draft. “Guys that are top level playmakers, dynamic playmakers and they are all a different flavor. Whether you want a precision route runner that is super productive or you want an explosive freak, whether you want a high-level route runner who can go up and get the ball, but also run by people. There are different flavors of blockers too and a tight end [Bowers] that is a Swiss Army knife that can move the ball around the formation and can really stress the defense. It is a really cool group.’’ Douglas has no choice but to go get one of them with that 10th overall pick Thursday night. nypost.com/2024/04/24/sports/joe-douglas-2024-jets-nfl-draft-mission-is-clear/I tend to disagree. Unless one of the 3 top WRs falls to them at #10, I'd go OT. At pick #10, the Jests will be in position to score the second best tackle in the draft. Or, move up a couple of spots to get their WR. Protecting Rodgers is Job One.

Jests receive high draft grades from local writers: 1.) Olu Fashanu NFL draft grade Grade: A- Why: Albeit an "unsexy" pick, the Jests take the third offensive lineman off the board in Fashanu. The 21-year-old did not allow a sack in 382 pass-blocking snaps in Happy Valley last season. While Fashanu might have to wait to get consistent starting time with veterans Tyron Smith and Morgan Moses signing in free agency, the reigning Big Ten Offensive Lineman of the Year will be a staple on the offensive line for years to come in the Meadowlands for Gang Green. Solid selection that will likely have to be a factor in his rookie season to help keep Rodgers upright coming off of an Achilles' injury. 2.) Malachi Corley NFL draft grade Grade: B+ Why: Even with the signing of veteran WR Mike Williams in free agency, it was obvious that general manager Joe Douglas was going to add some depth to the receiver room for Gang Green. The production is off the charts for Corley, who amassed over 3,000 receiving yards at Western Kentucky and scored 29 touchdowns, including 11 TDs in each of his last two seasons. While they still have Hard Knock wide receiver stars Xavier Gipson and Jason Brownlee from last summer, the Jests still needed to add to that position, especially given the prior injury history with Williams. 3.) Braelon Allen NFL draft grade Grade: A- Why: After trading back multiple times to start the fourth round, the Jets select a bruiser in Allen with their first pick on Day 3. He was a workhorse at Wisconsin, totaling 597 carries, nearly hit 3,500 rushing yards (3,494) and 45 total touchdowns during his three seasons with the Badgers. Given his nose for the end zone, the 6-foot-1 junior could be a force deep in opponents territory, giving the Jets' a potential dual-threat powerhouse of Allen and starter Breece Hall. 4.) Jordan Travis NFL draft grade Grade: B Why: The Jets moved up two spots to No. 171 overall and sent picks No. 185 and 190 to the Eagles to select Travis. Last season, he led an undefeated Florida State program before suffering a gruesome low leg injury on Nov. 18, 2023 versus Northern Alabama that ended his campaign. Travis will need time to develop as he continues to recover from a major injury but is securely the third option under center behind veteran QBs Aaron Rodgers and Tyrod Taylor. 5.) Isaiah Davis NFL draft grade Grade: A Why: The Jets take their second running back of the draft in Davis. In 2023, he led the FCS in rushing yards (1,578) and was tied for the most rushing touchdowns (18) last season. In his college career, the 6-foot-1, 218-pound recorded 4,548 rushing yards and 50 touchdowns in four seasons at South Dakota State. This give the Jets' two viable options with highly successful college careers behind starter Breece Hall. 6.) Qwan'tez Stiggers NFL draft grade Grade: B Why: If the Jests were on Hard Knocks this season instead of last, Stiggers story leading up to getting drafted would've been can't miss. After his father passed away in 2020, he dropped out of college and returned home and was not on the field in 2021. Stiggers' then played in the semi-pro 7-on-7 Fan Controlled Football League (FCFL) and joined the Toronto Argonauts of the CFL in 2023. During his time north of the border, Stiggers won the league's most outstanding rookie, posting five interceptions and 56 tackles in 16 games last season. If he can make the regular season roster, there's no doubt Stiggers' could be a fan favorite in the Meadowlands given how far he's come the last four years. 7.) Jaylen Key NFL draft grade Grade: B- Why: Key was taken as this year's "Mr. Irrelevant" pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. He transferred from UAB to Alabama in his senior year. The 6-foot-2 safety concluded his collegiate career with 60 tackles, 1.5 tackles-for-loss and an interception as a starter in the secondary for the Crimson Tide. It's a bit puzzling that Key wasn't invited to the Senior Bowl -- an annual event that takes place three hours south of Tuscaloosa in Mobile with seniors from around the country -- the week prior to Super Bowl 58 in early February. www.northjersey.com/story/sports/nfl/jets/2024/04/27/ny-jets-nfl-draft-2024-grades-analysis-every-pick/73473367007/

First round pick #11 Olu Fashanu is listed at nfl.com's combine report as "Will become good starter within two years". Two years? I hope that he's not going to be asked to pass-block for Aaron Rodgers before the year 2025.
He only has two years experience as a starter at Penn State. It shows all over.
Overview
A toolsy two-year starter with loads of potential, Fashanu is still learning to be less mechanical and more instinctive with his play. At this point, he could impose his traits upon most collegiate opponents and stack the deck in his favor. As a pro, he will need to play with better control and more consistent technique to prevent being countered and beaten by NFL talent. There is still room to get bigger and stronger, but he’s already playing with good focus and drive as a run blocker. Issues with footwork and landmarks can be corrected with more coaching. He’s long and has really effective recovery agility to help keep his quarterback clean, but inconsistent pass slides and excessive leaning could make things harder than they need to be early on. Overall, the work ethic, traits and tape make it easier to project Fashanu’s continued improvement into a very good left tackle. Weaknesses
Inconsistent slide width creates inconsistent body control in his mirror. Needs better patience and timing to eliminate lunging with his punch. Forward lean into rushers will get him countered as a pro. Must learn to step down to B-gap sooner to protect against T/E twists. Oversteps landmarks, diminishing leverage and control as run blocker. Needs to improve footwork/positioning post-contact to improve block finishing. Struggles to reach back-side cutoffs due to faulty technique off the snap.

The Jests have decided to exercise their 5th year option on Alijah Vera-Tucker.
AVT has been a high-level player when healthy but has suffered season-ending injuries in back-to-back years in October. That was the only reason picking up the option was even a question.
Vera-Tucker is currently recovering from surgery to repair his Achilles tendon but is expected to be ready for the season.
After moving around the offensive line in the last two years, the plan is for him to only play right guard this season.
Let's see if he can finally stay healthy in 2024.

Today the New York football Jests said goodbye to OT Mekhi Becton. The former Jests first-round pick in the 2020 draft is headed down the New Jersey Turnpike. Becton has agreed to terms on a one-year deal that could be worth up to $5.5 million with the Philadelphia Eagles, pending a physical, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported. Philadelphia offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland advocated for the Eagles to pursue Becton, Schefter added. Becton had been selected by the Jets with the 11th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft and started 16 games for Gang Green in 2023. The team had declined to pick up his fifth-year option in May 2023 making him a free agent at the conclusion of the the 2023 season. nypost.com/2024/04/28/sports/eagles-signing-former-jets-first-round-pick-mekhi-becton/This is devastating news for all the waffle houses in the New York City/Northern New Jersey area. Not only are they losing their best customer, but they are losing their Flap-jack King! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!

Interesting? Try stupid. That article was 30 seconds of such moronitude that I assumed you'd written it. Well, at least they didn't try to claim that the Jets drafted the "next Jerry Rice" the day after the draft as you did when we drafted N'Keal.
