To project Brady's non-discounted career earnings, we kept his rookie deal and first extension the same. In 2002, Brady signed a four-year, $28 million contract. His next extension came in 2005. By this point, he had won three Super Bowls and was a 2-time Super Bowl MVP. It is safe to assume that by 2005, he could have started commanding top contracts.Brady’s rookie deal had a 6th round value, that was decided by his draft slot, not what he was going to develop into year's later or the Patriots being cheap. So from the very beginning by default he started out way behind in relation to his QB peers who were all first or second round picks. In 2005 he signed a signed a 4 year $42.8M contract, he was earning big money for that time. In 2010 he signed a contract making him the highest paid player in the entire NFL. When Tom left NE in 2019 he was ranked #1 on the NFL’s all-time earners list… so for a guy who started out way behind his peers with his 6th round rookie deal and for a guy who took less from 2014-2018 he still finished his NE career as the all time earner in league history. He made up that difference between 2005-2013 when he was among the highest paid players in the league.

My previous post proves your 2014 theory wrong. Take the L and move on. Your previous post is some dumb chart that doesn’t even account for Tom being a 6th round pick and getting paid like one on his first contract. The lone fact Tom ended his Patriot career in 2019 #1 on the NFL’s all time earner list despite his first contract having a 6th round value proves your math sucks.

Yeah, playing for over 20 years had nothing to do with that. In 2019 there were peers of Brady's like Brees, Ben, both Mannings who had been in the league for roughly the same time. Not only had they been in the league, but while Tom was making 200-300K in his first two seasons, these first and high second round picks were making 2-3 million per season. Number of years had nothing to do with the conversation back in 2019.

LOL @ you! Business Insider>Wozzy Basic math says your wrong... and Business Insider clearly has no clue how draft pick's salaries are already determined by draft slot. We know Brady wasn't underpaid in relation to his peers from 2005-2013, because he was among the highest paid players in the league. Stop trying to rewrite history.

He was the NFL's all-time career earner back in 2019 when he left the Patriots. Longevity has nothing to do with this conversation. He signed a contract in 2010 which made him the highest paid player in the entire NFL. From 2005 to 2013ish he was among the highest paid players in the league... period. He took less starting around 2014 and it was his choice, he wanted to win rings... and did.

If you recall Bill put in those ridiculous incentives the last 2 years, that broke the camels back for Tom leaving.

A link showing the career earners now, after Tom earned close to 100M in three years in Tampa. Tom was #1 on the careers earners list in 2019, he was #2 behind Manning on the list in 2014. History and facts aren’t your friend.

Manning was the only name ahead of Tom on the career earnings list through 2014. This despite the fact Tom got paid like a 6th round rookie on his first deal and Peyton and Eli got paid like first round picks. www.spotrac.com/nfl/rankings/earnings/2014/all-time/Drew Brees was the only player ahead of Tom Brady on the career earnings list by 2020, this despite the fact Brees and all of Tom's peers got drafted substantially well ahead of the 6th round and paid a lot more earlier in their careers. www.spotrac.com/nfl/rankings/earnings/2020/all-time/It took me about two minutes to find this feature on Spotrac, I was driving earlier otherwise this conversation would have ended long ago. So Karpy… wrong yet again.

All I had to do was stop driving and find the “through 2014/2020” option on Spotrac. You’re wrong, and Tom being a smidge behind Brees in 2020 and Manning in 2014 proves you wrong.

Drew Bree’s singned his final deal in 2020, before he did Brady was #1 on the list. The conversation here was Brady took less money his entire career, which is an impossiblilty if he ranked #2 all time in 2015 or 2020. You’re dancing…

Brady was second on the NFL all time earner list in 2014, this after making 200-300K per season on his rookie deal. So he clearly was one of the highest paid players in the league from 2005 on. Facts suck for you.
