This is great stuff. Especially the corrections they are going to have to make at the pro level. Nice find backbay.

I thought Hoyer did a very good job explaining the film down from a QB perspective, what the offensive play is, defensive pre- and post-snap reads, and trying to assess what the college QBs thinking/decision making is, and the changes they might need to make as they navigate nfl environment.

I watched the entire thing. I think he’s wrong on Daniels, I wouldn’t put him at number one on this list. I think the talent around him it too good to ignore. And his arm is too inconsistent to ignore…along with his size.
And I totally disagree with Curran on McCarthy, he places McCarthy in the Aaron Rogers ceiling range, which is absurd in my opinion because I think McCarthy has very limited control of ball trajectory on outside throws. He can’t get the ball to fall. It’s all line drive stuff.
But I’ll tell you what, IF HOYER is right on Daniels…and he falls to us?? By listening to him we would have the best QB in the draft. And rumors are BB felt the same way, along with others. I don’t buy it, I don’t buy that hype.

I don't think these videos from different sources are to be taken as Gospel.
All the things you bring up with Daniels can be said of McCarthy in regards to having very good/great supporting cast of OL, WR, TE, RBs.
It was Curran who did "high comp" to Aaron Rogers. Both Hoyer and Perry disagreed. Curran is a tool.
Daniels did win Heisman. Was that the wrong pick or should it have been Caleb Williams? Who do you think was the best college QB for 2024...and why.
I did not watch the video to get lo/high comps to different players, I watched it for the breakdown of film from a different source. That's what I got out of it because my football knowledge pales in comparison to most folks posting in this forum.
I do appreciate and respect your opinions though.

When I watch youtube/twitter, etc draft analysis.... 1. Put in the work - watch all the throws/runs by the QB you're reviewing....two or three times. 2. Don't have an agenda. So when I watched this clip with Hoyer, and they start off by saying "Let's review these 5 throws"..... ....my initial reaction was....GTFOH with that lazy-ass waste of time.....it's people like you that soil the internet with useless opinions....sorry about the swearing to early in the morn....
EDIT: this is why I respect the Kurt Warner's analysis....he seems to have put in a significant time trying to do a good job.

Thanks for posting that interview. Watched it. Jayden seems like an even-keeled, good guy. Maybe a little selfish. But overall nothing negative in that interview.
Of all the interviews I've watched, Penix has done the best job in letting me know that football is important to him and he'll take his job very seriously. JJM did a good job too.

Warner does a good job. The thing he says; which makes sense, is that he can only describe what he sees on film in regards to mechanics; but what is more helpful is to interview the QB/film breakdown with the QB in a face-to-face manner to get an idea of processing/thinking, desire to improve, ability to be coached....and additional questions to get an idea of the "intangibles".

The idea, only reported on by people that NEVER PLAYED QB IN THE NFL that Penix struggled on short and intermediate throws, while throwing for almost 5,000 yards at over 65% completions DOES NOT GET MUCH MORE ASININE THAN THAT. How does ANYBODY go undefeated in the Pac-12 just throwing deep balls all day? (And your lead RB may not get drafted) Explain that one.

His incompletions are ON PURPOSE (NOBODY OPEN/ SACK AVOIDANCE), Miscommunications. Not ACCURACY of pass related. Watch the all throws video and you will see that for yourself. Also, the percentage of 3rd and long must have been pretty low to get a 50% up to 65% overall! He had more attempts at 3rd and long because he threw the ball more than anybody else. He averaged a 1st down EVERY PASS ATTEMPT.

This is a guy who has been in the NFL for a while. He went over the changes he had to make going into the NFL which I found very insightful. These changes are what all these QBs are going to have to make. It was interesting about the foot work issue. He said it wasn't a big deal at all. He had to make them as well and deemed it wasn't a problem, just work. So when these pundits ding someone about their foot work don't get caught up in that. Great stuff IMHO. Again, great find!

JJ is 21, Rodgers first year 25 years old to start in the NFL. I like the comparison.

Agree with you on that. It's like evaluating an actor/actress by watching one movie trailer. It's nuts.

I’m not waiting four years for a quarterback to start when they draft him at three, that scenario doesn’t work for me (haha, I’ll have to call Bob Kraft). I can’t remember but did GB have Favre when they drafted Rogers? We don’t have a QB, we have Brissett, a place holder. I’m willing to roll with him, that’s ok, but only for a year, then the new guy has to play and our team has to be improved from what it is right now. IMO

thanks for posting. Penix seems to be humble; which I like. Since interview was so short, as are most of these kinds of interviews - it's a good first impression on Penix.

really liked JJMs last interview. Right up there w/ Penix' interview. Obiously, there's only so much that any of us can learn in a 15 minute interview - but got a very positive impression of JJM.
He thinks he's going to Giants? But he did say, since decision isn't his to make - that he's happy to go anywhere.
Of course, all of these players are well coached/briefed by Agents/PR teams nowadays?

From what i read the giants are interested in moving up to take maye. Don’t know if that’s a smoke screen.

Just once I'd love to hear one of these kids say, "Yeah, I like hangin' with my homies, getting high, playing video games, going to clubs with my Glock in my pants, getting into drag races after drinking all night, hookin' up with some bitches and you know, just having fun."
