Hell no. This is an awful trade for NE. Getting two guys who are just going to tie up a bunch of cap space very soon.

Would I take that deal? I’d rather watch Mac Jones throw like a twelve year old for the next decade than take that deal. Hell, I’d take 27 consecutive colonoscopies before I’d take that deal….id even let Mac Jones perform them, he’d miss my asshole by ten yards anyway.

click bait?
no. If a better deal w/ Giants or Minnesota comes up though...similar to 49ers/Dolphins trade. San Francisco acquired the No. 3 pick from the Dolphins in exchange for the No. 12 pick, first- and third-rounders in 2022 and a first-rounder in 2023

Penix at #12 2 3rd rd picks for an OT and WR Bourne, Sutton,Osborn, Pop and a 3rd round pick for Penix team will have 2 number 1's next year assuming Penix lasts that long. I think he is gone by then. You are then left in QB purgatory. You maybe roll the dice later with Nix or punt till next year and ride the Brisket express.

I find the offer tempting. No mention of Nix? For me I would need to know more about Nix before I would do the trade.
Not having a scouting department to go over things with it would determine on how much they value the QB at that spot. It may not be enough to pull the trigger on that trade. I would also think the Pats would be after draft picks and not players in a trade out.

perhaps a deal like the OP falls to "is Brissett capable of bringing a good team to the playoffs?" the Pats would boast a great D with that trade the Pats would be able to draft 1 or 2 OT's if they wish they will also have upgraded their WR group they also would have their QB to develop (Penix or Nix)
wasn't it the almighty himself who said he could win with Johnny Foxboro at QB?

If you like Penix more than Maye or JJ it is a great deal Only someone daft enough to believe the salary cap doesn’t exist would think this. Surtain and Sutton want new massive contracts immediately. Denver would love to do this…. because they’re broke. It’s not the cap that’s crap, it’s your understanding of it that is.

Remove Sutton from the deal and add more picks and I'd consider it. It boggles my mind how many people are just casually shitting on the idea of acquiring a guy that was LITERALLY A FIRST TEAM ALL PRO AS A SECOND YEAR PLAYER AND IS 24! Who cares if he "has to get paid". This team has an ocean of cap space and no one to spend it on. You're not getting a player of Surtain's caliber in free agency. The entire point of cap space is to pay and retain players like Surtain. Ultimately it all depends on what they want to do at QB, but if they could get an all pro caliber player to move down 9 spots + other assets you have to consider it.

Sutton is signed for 2024 and 2025 and would cost the Pats $13m each season. his 2025 guaranteed money is 0 Surtain is also signed for 2024 (Base salary $1m) and 2025 and his salary ($20m) is guaranteed. Denver has $15m in cap spaceavailable and has $68m in cap space for 2025, assuming a flat cap, which we know will not happen. it will go up I am not advocating this deal. I would swing bigger (JJ Jefferson or Darrisaw) and picks from the Vikes.

It’s money! Pro tip: take pills not the fluid to prep. Now back to the draft……
