But he is a project. He will sit thru first 9 games at least. Otherwise it increases odds he would end up like McKorkle Lance was a division two player, it wasn't his fault where he was drafted but he was a massive project. If Maye takes to coaching, he could take the job by midseason, the guy was a rock in a terrible situation, he was the anti-Mac. Even if he has to sit a full season I like the pick, Brissett could play well if they find that left tackle next.

Maye is not a project the heck you talking about. This kid is way better than Trey Lance. Have you REALLY watched his tape? His footwork is absolute trash…..if you don’t believe me, asked Kevin l(Vikings), who as much as said Mayes footwork NEEDS works Ironically, the Vikings are looking good right now to get their guy, JJ McCarthy, without giving anything in a trade - if Mayo flames out with the Patriots I want O’Connell next Did you see his 2022 season? Allen had terrible footwork in college as well. Did you know that?

A very rational approach for a QB, even one picked in the top 5. Have you seen the line and the skill players? Maybe they trade for aiyuk. What about what you said makes sitting the QB for a year irrational?

Based on Maye’s comments after his pro day, I’m setting the over/under at his Foxboro presser at 4.5 for him saying “I just let it rip”.
As in farting?

Maybe he plays a couple of games at the end of the year. Pats are likely going to be drafting in the top 10 next year. They need to finish up here in this draft now.

Still grieving: I can't believe we picked the worst effing QB is this class. What if these other QBs bust as well? The draft is a crapshoot man. Drake Maye had the worst stats of the top 6. He had the worst footwork, worst accuracy, slowest release, played the worst against good competition.
Make it make sense.

I think a 4th and 5th round pick and they get a 6th in return

I don’t think he’s a top 10 pick but we shall see. Duh? That's what it means when you say he's a reach at P8. Why do you think he is not top 10?

Not at all excited about this pick …….I really don’t like his tape, he footwork is crap…… Needs development, but his college team and coaching staff was crap and he looked like King Kong. Sit him behind Brissett, who is the perfect teacher to for ball protection and smart decisions. This. Of course he might not work out. It’s the draft. But he has a rocket arm, can extend plays, has the size, athletic family, he’s got a great ceiling. And why are we acting like his tape sucks? He had a historic first season as a freshman and then followed it up with another good season despite his team blowing worse than the ‘23 pats. I think him still being a bright spot on a terrible team is a good sign. Better than getting carried like Mac at Bama. Roll the dice. Love the pick. Go get Aiyuk and build the OL.

That’s laughable dude lol. Allen had terrible footwork in college. Too many cry baby fans. Can we wait and see what he is before saying he’s a bust?

Some of you guys are nuts. Maye was the best possible choice for us considering where he is, his size, his age, and his unbelievable upside which is as high as anyone in this draft. It's going to take time, and we can work on the weapons later now that we have the QB. Tomorrow will really be the big tell on what this kids going to be working with this year, and what we will need next draft. But, it won't be a QB, and that's as important as it gets.
