-listening to Bill the analyst makes me wonder why Bill the GM didn't listen better
-Bill was fire last night. as I flipped around and around, he left Saban, Kiper, Jeremiah and all the rest in the dust. really great listen.
-the Penix pick sure was a head scratcher and for sure the Pats made the correct decision to stick and pick. Atl would have put them in a bind with that potential Vikes trade
-Cousins on a guaranteed 4 year deal. Penix already 24 years old.
-given how day 1 unfolded, I could see a trade back from the Pats. I hope not, but could see it
-Curren tweeting the Pats were in discussions for Herbert. also still discussing Aiyuk. and SF took a WR in rd 1
-I actually thought more OL would be chosen in rd 1, a good sign for the Pats
-MB's guy JJMc fell into a nice home under HC McConnell and throwing to Jefferson, Hockenson and Addison.
-DaPats guy Penix, I guess sits and waits for Cousins to injure or play poorly. Blank left to asking himself, "what would Bill have done"
-I guess we start today arguing about when Maye will play. week 10? 12?
-interesting that the Jets, with Rodgers perhaps in his final year, use their #1 on a player that might be great, but most likely sits a while unless injury to another OT
-Bills trading back have to still have a WR on their radar, right? Bills at #33. Pats at #34
-was JKraft running the war room when showing the Pats on the clock? wasn't that Robyn Glaser way in the back against the white board, not sayng a word?
-I was disappointed in the drafted players suits. not as ridiculosly loud as past years drafts. Maye was downright boring. Mac-ish boring.
-Pats won't give Maye #10, will they?

Will any of the teams that took OT in the first(like 8 right?) maybe have a LT to trade? That is the only way I don't take LT with pick 34. They have got to fill that hole better than they have. Big FA mistake by the pats. They needed a journeymen to plug that hole before the draft...Like they did WR and QB. Still a need, but at least they have average bodies in there if the board falls wrong.

Pats do have said journey men in spades. they signed Okurfor they redid Andersons deal they have McDermott

I definitely didn’t want Penix in NE, but I do feel bad for the guy. It’s a weird situation. Barring a Cousins injury, Penix looks like he will be 26-27 years old before he will get a chance to start. But $100 mil guaranteed says Cousins will be the starter in ATL for the next couple of years. Weird pick by ATL.

Not sure if they can get better via trade, maybe someone who wants more money or is in last year of deal and was replaced before hole created...Not up on other teams needs as much as I'd like...

That guy has a sixth sense to sniffing out the best contracts. He's the Warren Buffet of QBs. He's probably hoping Penix plays great, they cut him, and he signs another lucrative contract next season lol. Only half joking. Damned if he doesn't have a nose for extracting maximum $$$$ out of the NFL.

I know nothing about any of these guys, but this pick strikes me as the Falcons doing what Green Bay did with Jordan Love: picking a guy for the future and letting him sit and learn behind a good veteran. I guess the strange part is that Penix is pretty old. But apparently Atl liked him better than JJ or Bo Nix.

Most fun I had watching a draft probably ever. Bb was outstanding.
It made the NFL really look dumb listening to him talk football, sharp, mind like a steel trap, total recall of every single bit of history, his own, the Patriots, and other prominent NFL events, teams, etc. The game has passed him by folks really looking like Mo Rons but we already knew that.
Booking guests for the show in real time. LMAO
Having guests say on live TV they only came on the show to talk to coach.
Chris Ballad only words to Bill being when you come back in the league go to the NFC.
Getting into fights with Mad Mel over calling players edge players.
Of course, the endless stories. (ex. the Randy Moss trade and time constraints leading to a team physical that amounted to checking to see if he had a fever)
Film analysis, pointing out all the things he didn't like about different players in the draft, after pointing out the positives, but in the way only BB does it. "Oh come on now we can't have any of that, that's not what we're looking for here on this play, that's not going to work in the pros" etc
Eventually just so relaxed he started tipping picks.
Also whether planned or not, seemed strategic to me to choose the one showed catering to the younger generation, where dudes are just chopping it up having fun. Which also made the "BB can't relate to todays players" look dumb, again.
Lastly, who was hamstringing BB the GM for real all those years because he loved so many of the players I loved in this draft, what.

I heard NE asked LA about Herbert, but were quickly rejected... so, not really a discussion. A discussion, IMO, would mean the two teams were discussing the parameters of a possible deal.
Yes, that's a great place for JJM to land.
