So, did this a couple years back and had some fun with it figured we can try it again. The rules are simple for every round the Pats have a pick, give 5 players you think the Pats would pick in that round, you can add descriptions to the players if you like or just give the player. Since the Pats don't have picks in the 4th or 5th but will most likely trade into/back to them lets combine the rounds and give players they might pick for both 4th/5th range. Lets see if anyone gets any right:
2nd: WR Sterling Shepard DT Sheldon Day DT Willie Henry DE/DT Carl Nassib OT LeRaven Clark
3rd: RB Jonathan Williams RB Marshaun Coprich DT Javon Hargrave OT Caleb Benenoch CB/S James Bradberry
4th/5th: CB Tavon Young OT/G Joe Dahl QB Kevin Hogan RB Keith Marshall WR Paul McRoberts
6th: WR Daniel Braveman CB Rashard Robinson QB Jake Rudock RB Dwayne Washington WR Cody Core
7th: WR Mortiz Boehringer OT Cole Toner QB/RB/WR Keenan Reynolds LB Dillion Lee S Justin Simmons

I always feel that we are trying to fix last year's problem this year and BB is drafting for next year. 2 years out of phase.

Somebody mentioned that we will also have 62+ M$ in cap space - that would pretty much be eaten up securing Hightower, Collins, Butler and Sheard; yes I think these four are going to be the new core. But that still leaves us bereft since 23+ players are up on their contracts. I suppose being a fan gives us the latitude to worry about what our GM is paid to do -

This year has an almost all in feel to it. Overthecap.com has them with 30 players signed and they estimate the cap being 166mil for 2017 which leaves them roughly 73 mil for 23 players. overthecap.com/salary-cap/new-england-patriots/Click on the 2017 tab for the breakdown.

All in? Sounds good, but I am not convinced that we have all pieces we need: 1. We seem to be particularly sanguine about our reduced pass rush capability (from last year) 2. Seemingly, ineffective additions to OL. 3. Although I agree that our receiving core, including TE, has been greatly upgraded, we felt exactly the same way last year this time with Chandler. Thanks for the link. They now have even the UDFA guys in the cap - I realize that is just a guess, but that is great!
