Looks like BB has started with 9 UDFAs so far blog.masslive.com/patriots/2016/05/new_england_patriots_reportedl.htmlDJ Foster, RB/WR, Arizona State Shaquille Powell, RB, Duke De'Runnya Wilson, TE/WR, Miss State Steven Scheu, TE, Vanderbilt Woodrow Hamilton, DT, Mississippi State CJ Johnson, LB, Mississippi State V'Angelo Bentley, CB, Illinois Jonathan Jones, CB, Auburn Cre'Von LeBlanc, CB, Florida Atlantic Actually really excited about Foster. Good hybrid WR/RB type who many thought could have sneaked into the late day 2. Wilson is also interesting but unless dominant in college these WR/TE rarely work out. Size alone won't do it in the Pro's but have to love the size potential

I'd like the add with Wilson, when you have these hybrid WR/TE types with slow 40's (4.8 in Wilsons case) LBs have an easy time to cover which neutralizes the size aspect. Hence why with these hybrid types sub 4.65 40s are actually kind of improtant and why these types of guys go UDFA

No one from Rutgers or UConn? I think we can safely say that pipeline has run dry now.

By my count, they've got 5 spaces open for UDFAs, but they may makes some cuts to open up more space.

Can DJ Foster play RB? Like a Faulk type role?

Can DJ Foster play RB? Like a Faulk type role? That would be nice but so can Lewis and White, seems a little overkill. We just need another north/south bruiser backup for Blount imo.

Can DJ Foster play RB? Like a Faulk type role? That's what they are hoping, I'm sure. With Lewis's injury history and White's ineffectiveness running the ball last year—plus the importance of the position to the offense--I think having another passing back or two in camp is a good thing. They are short on bigger backs to fill the Blount role, and it would be nice to have another of those too, but that just hasn't appeared to be a priority for BB for years.

I've seen a slightly different list of nine (RB Powell out, S Burns in):
D.J. Foster, RB/WR, Arizona State Devonta Burns, S, Texas A&M De’Runnya Wilson, TE/WR, Miss State Steven Scheu, TE, Vanderbilt Woodrow Hamilton, DT, Mississippi State C.J. Johnson, LB, Mississippi State V’Angelo Bentley, CB, Illinois Jonathan Jones, CB, Auburn Cre’Von LeBlanc, CB, Florida Atlantic
To sign all nine, they need to release four players I think. We know they've released two, so must be two more releases coming as well.
Should get an official announcement soon.

Not as wiggly or as quick as Foster but Powell is not bad either. Has a lower YPC, but is built stockier and appears to run with more power. Probably has more YAC ability. Caught 35 balls.

He's one of the worst of the taller WRs who were ranked draftable. He's tall but does not know how to use his size at all. He won't be able to get separation in the NFL either, because he is slow - 4.85. He's slower than most LBs.

Why is Woodrow Hamilton listed as Mississippi State? I am pretty sure it is Ole Miss and he is the guy playing next to Nkemdichi most of the time

Yeah he looked pretty good to me too. They didn't actually sign him, he's in for a tryout with a couple others. He's not big, but it looks like he's got some power.

Yeah, the article where that was taken from was wrong. He is from Ole Miss, not Miss St.
