This deal for Marcus Cannon paired with Cam's low level contract leads me to believe we are getting a BIGGER QB (Watson, a Cam disciple) or top level rookie (Trey Lance, the next Cam).
This is my prediction.
What say you?

Well, I don’t think we’ll be getting Watson anytime soon...if we do?? Now that would put us back on the map.
Karen Guiregan was on the radio Saturday, I missed most of the early part of the interview, but she is thinking some shoe is going to drop and out starting QB next season won’t be Newton. I guess she doesn’t usually say much of anything unless she has sources to back it up. She also said that the free agency money will be spent on defense..so who knows?
But yeah. I maybe can see Trey Lance falling or Fields. I’d prefer Lance I guess, but I’m not sold on either.

I doubt that they'll trade out of the 8th overall pick if Lance is available.

Also i don’t know who wants bridgewater. They wanna get rid of bridgewater but I can’t see a team trading for him even the 49ers.

I do not know what we have that will get us Watson. I also do not know how desperate they are to move him. I have a gut feeling something big is going to happen for QB. Plus Mr. Kraft put his neck on the line about being unusually aggressive this off-season.

Well this sucks, just watched that video...there’s no way in hell Lance falls to 15. He can make every throw with ease. He already looks good on the field but he made that workout look effortless, and I’ve seen high picks that didn’t. So, now outside of Trevor Lawrence, I think this guy has the most talent of the QB’s. The most upside/potential. I think if you’re in the market for a QB you take this guy high and take that chance on him because the talent..ALL the TALENT, is there. He’s got it. He’s effortless. If I’m the Jets, I seriously consider him over Wilson.

Team will pay a ransom this year to move up. Pats are screwed.

If they’re gonna get a franchise QB the only way will be to hit on one in the later rounds because we will never get a chance to draft one of these top QBs in the first round.

No QB but there smoking the good stuff over at ESPN:
The simulation, which was done by ESPN’s NFL insiders projecting what contracts players would sign, has the Patriots landing wide receiver Kenny Golladay, tight end Jonnu Smith, and defensive end Yannick Ngakoue.
ESPN has Golladay signing a five-year, $105 million deal with $50 million guaranteed with New England. Golladay would certainly help the Patriots’ issues at wide receiver. In 2019, Golladay caught 65 passes for 1,190 yards and a league-high 11 touchdowns. However, Golladay missed 11 games last season due to hamstring injuries.
For Smith, ESPN has the Patriots signing him to a four-year, $42.5 million deal with $25 million guaranteed. Smith, who’s considered as one of the top two tight ends in free agency, would certainly bolster the Patriots’ talent at tight end, which has been lackluster since Rob Gronkowski left after the 2018 season. Smith had career-highs in receptions (41), receiving yards (448), and receiving touchdowns (eight) last season with the Titans.
Finally, with Ngakoue, ESPN has the Patriots signing him to a four-year, $60 million deal with $30 million guaranteed. The Patriots’ defensive line didn’t have as poor of a performance as the wide receiver and tight end groups last season, but there is room for improvement. They also have four defensive linemen that played a high number of snaps that will become free agents in a few days.

Atlanta may want a young quarterback to groom under Matt Ryan at #4. The Jests of course need at quarterback at #2 overall. Denver at #9 and San Francisco at #12 may also be interested in trading up. I like your idea...but I don't see it happening.

So either : - he sucked: they would have a far better position in the draft - he played well: they would not need a QB

Therefore, they would be the most likely trade target if the pats decided to jump up

Just my opinion, of course, but I'm seeing Watson ending up in New England as a pig-flying scenario.
With respect to Lance I think an awful lot of things have to fall into place in order for him to end up in a Pats uniform. Probably not a pig-flying deal but close.

Unfortunately Stid has not impressed.

Unfortunately Stid has not impressed. I get that but then why was Newton still starting when the playoffs were already out of reach? Why not grant Stidham some reps and as the same time go up the draft ranks? Yeah, one plays for winning but until the point where you better play smart.
