profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/08/06/josh-allen-bills-have-a-new-deal/The Bills ultimately decided to not play with fire. Buffalo has secured a long-term agreement with its franchise quarterback, Josh Allen. Previously signed through 2022, Allen has agreed to a six-year extension. The team has announced the deal. He’s under contract for eight years, through 2028. Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the six-year extension has a value of $258 million, with $150 million guaranteed. We’re working on getting the full and complete details, which will be critical to assessing the overall value of the deal relative to current and future quarterback contracts. Allen becomes the first member of the 2018 quarterback class to agree to terms. Allen’s deal immediately becomes relevant to Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson and Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield. Whatever the specifics, it was smart for the Bills to get it done. They’re clearly sold on Allen. By waiting, it was only going to get more expensive.

Can you just imagine the discussions around here in four years if Mac turns out to be the real deal. The days of the Brady discount are over.

Holy ship! That is a lot of total money and guaranteed money! It will be interesting to see how the Bills manage the cap each year.

Poor bastard. Imagine if the union knew what they were doing how much he'd get? Hope he can make ends meet.
And he'll be back at the trough in four years asking for $60 million.

If you read the Bills fan board’s they’re all ecstatic. Allen has developed nicely but it’s a lot of money to drop if he gets injured or his development simulates Carson Wentz.
There is a team in the AFC I really like. It spends wisely; it believes in great Defense; it’s willing to play old school smash mouth football, it is value oriented and typically it has not overpaid its Qb’s and it has a mastermind head coach and a great coaching, scouting and management staff. If it stays relatively healthy I like this team located in Foxboro, MA to fight it out and win the division, several playoff games and wrestle their way as the dark horse SB candidate. Are you with me?
We got haters but we’re used to that; we even love it that no one expects us to do it. People from NE are tough F’en people, we come bitter cold, we come from a land where love and friendliness is looked upon suspiciously. It all makes us stronger; we don’t give up; everyone hates it that we’re tougher but that’s the way it is.
Semper Fi!

lets wait for the numbers we should assume the cap will be in that $220-$240 range in his years 3-6 if he is still on the team.

Allen is not getting $150m gtd. he is getting $100 gtd. he does get addtl guarantees down the road which he should earn in the short term. part of his $100m gtd money is money over the 21 and 22 seasons that were in his prior deal. in other words, not new money. he also signed for in real money terms a 5 year deal at $33m AAV. he will either renegotiate after 5 or the Bills will move on. Dak signed in real money a 3 year deal at an AAV of approx $50m. he most likely renegotiates after 3 years.

He got a $16.5 million bonus for 2021 and a $42 option million bonus for 2022 that were NOT part of his prior deal. Do you really see them ending this contract in the next 3-4 years?? profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/08/06/inside-the-josh-allen-deal/The $100 million full guarantee at signing moves to $110 million in 2022, $140 million in 2023, and $162.5 million in 2024, via rolling guarantees that vest money in future years. By 2025, Allen will have had $177.5 million become guaranteed. Through 2026, it becomes $239 million.
The full guarantee at signing is the most in NFL history, surpassing Dak Prescott ($95 million) and Matt Ryan ($94.5 million). The total injury guarantee of $150 million at signing bests Patrick Mahomes ($141.5 million), Prescott ($126 million), and Deshaun Watson ($110.7 million).
