Well it looks like Revis will fit in fine with the Jets bad boy rebuilding program.đ Revis joins th at long list of other post-Patriots failures.

Darrelle Revis is really catching it from the NY press. Talk about being fickle...LOL!!! In this article, an attempt is made to convince the Jets to release Revis Island...before he embarrasses the organization further! Think about that one, for a minute. Revis was the toast of Gotham for leaving the dastardly Patriots, by doing the Jets "a favor" in signing a salary cap bashing 5 year, $70 million dollar deal, with $39 million guaranteed. The team that is defined by the Butt Fumble, that hasn't sniffed a SB since the Nixon Administration, and that has been a laughing stock for the great majority of the past 50 years, is now, just a two years later, being asked to spare itself further embarrassment by cutting Revis! LOL!!!! www.nydailynews.com/sports/football/jets/jets-cut-darrelle-revis-embarrasses-article-1.2975069 and nypost.com/2017/02/16/darrelle-revis-legacy-in-new-york-never-will-be-the-same/

Last year, Revis appeared in 15 games for the Jets and totaled 53 tackles and one interception. Pro Football Focus ranked Revis as just the 66th best cornerback in the NFL out of 112 qualified players. His 72.1 overall score was a career-low and not at all in line with his monster contract. www.profootballrumors.com/2017/02/darrelle-revis-injured-after-altercation Another great Jets free agency signing! LOL!!!

The Jets and their fans should really look at this positively they aren't 32nd on that list. The number 32 team on the list took a legitimate shot at the Super Bowl, locking up home field advantage in the NFC and then the playoffs were rough on them. #32 Dallas should look at this somewhat positively. 13-3 Dallas may have overspent but they knew exactly what they wanted to buy in 2016. I can't say that the 5-11 New York Jets knew what they wanted to buy by mortgaging the team for 2017. At the very least they can cut Revis tomorrow if they're smart. Or, maybe they'll hang on to Revis while the latest criminal charges resonate through the New York press. I thought that maybe the team would straighten up once Rex went to Buffalo and Mike Genius Tannenbaum left for Miami, but no, maybe the current front office is haunted by the ghost of dumbness past. Maybe I have long underestimated the sheer, um, Jetsness of the new guys in charge. The Jets' active recruitment of locker room problems may work, but under the wrong head coach it could easily backfire. So why would the New and Improved Jets want to get rid of Sheldon Richardson? Hasn't he been enough of a whopping big headache for his entire career? Isn't he, in fact, the exact type of Boys Town poster child that the new Jets really want to reform?

I bet you a root beer the Cowboys regress next year and struggle to make the playoffs. They have little depth and minimal cap room to build a championship 53 man roster. So you are correct they shot their wad for 2016 and came close but it'll cost them in 2017. Now back to the train wreck from the dump in NJ.

The Cowboys have to improve their defense, they looked acceptable because the offense ran so often and controlled the time of possession but the defense has sucked for a while.

I agree. Aside from no cap space they had everything fall in place perfectly for them this las season. Dak played well but it's hard not to with that line and elliot running the ball. Teams will figure out ways to force him into making more mistakes. They dont have the depth to sustain many injuries and their defense wasn't very good , they'll have a tough time improving unless they draft well. They will play a first place schedule too. Their not going to sneak up on anyone next season, they're more likely to implode because of their high expectations.

I think the SB loss will mess with ATL's collective psyche. They will get tight every time an opponent gets within a possession late in the game. I say they choke late in more than a couple of games.

Some of that is luck. But a lot if it has to do with players buying in and following through with a good off-season conditioning program. Dallas, like the Patriots, managed to remain relatively injury free in 2016. Each team lost a perceived key player, Tony Romo in Dallas, and Gronk in New England. But both teams had players on their roster to adequately replace them. Dak Prescott was able to replace Romo, and Marcellus Bennett was able to fill in for Gronk. Both of these teams cannot lose sight of the importance of off-season conditioning. I certainly hope that Gronk takes it seriously. There's no excuse for missing a third of the season due to a soft tissue hamstring injury. Stretch out in the off-season! Hopefully, having missed out in participating jn the glory of winning another SB will motivate Gronk to do a bit less partying, and a bit more training over the next few months. As for the depth challenged Cowboys, they must stay healthy. If they do, they'll have another good season. If not, expect them to return to their previous 9-7, 8-8 form.

You may be onto something here. Both Dallas and Atlanta kind of came out of relative nowhere last season, and both will have targets on their backs in the upcoming campaign. They won't be sneaking up on anybody. But the way the Falcons spit the bit (in spectacular fashion), after rolling through the playoffs and most of the Super Bowl is likely to have a much more lasting intangible impact than the Cowboys starting slow (in the divisional round) and getting clowned by one of the league's best quarterbacks. These are relatively young teams, and I think both -- barring catastrophic injury -- should be able to build on unexpected success, but only one of these teams is going to be hooted roundly everywhere it goes ... and constantly reminded (and questioned) about how close it came to The Big Prize ... and, thus, how badly it gagged on its own bravado. I guess what I'm talking about is mental toughness. The Falcons could very well turn into an even more dangerous team ... or they could go all Carolina Panthers on us. Whichever one of those things happens will tell us more about Dan Quinn than his apparent decision to allow his offensive coordinator and his quarterback to kick the Lombardi Trophy away ... to our great delight.

I don't think a NFC South division winner has repeated in a long, long, time. Tampa Bay is a dark horse next year to me.

I can give you a feel how the fan base is doing down here in Atlanta. It started with shock, went to anger, became dissapointment and is now where they usually are before the SB run....indifference. In their anger stage even the fans were doubt full the team could recover mentally and emotionally next year.

Around this time every year us Patriot Season ticket holders look forward to locking in another year of tickets to the NFL's best team. As for the hapless fans of those lovable losers the Jets, thoughts turn to how to avoid wasting thousand$ of dollar$ watching that clown show of a team. Check out this latest thread called "PSL Default repercussions" Here are some real knee slappers: "Can you sue them for scamming you by selling a seating license to what should be a pro football venue, but really is more like watching Pop Warner level talent?" "I am sure there are people are here that have walked away---a good friend of mine walked away 3 years ago zero repercussions as far as I am concerned they should be happy they were able TO EXTORT as much as they already have from you and the others! I will call my buddy right now and ask him what exactly went down" "Just contact them and see if you can cancel your PSL all together. They got some cash, now they can steal money from someone else being mislead to think the Jets give a crap about anything other than money." "There are a few sites like pslsource etc. At best you'll get 50 cents on the dollar, most likely less. Wait until Brady retires, they'll go up at some point : )" "Send Woody some fish wrapped in newspaper. Tell him it's a Sicilian message..." PSLs are a key component of the funding plan for new stadiums. It's part of the plan of moving teams to LA. I think they are setting up the Chargers to be NYJ West.

Personal seat licenses should be a red flag that the team's owner absolutely won't put in the non-salary-cap money needed to help the team win each season. The owner has gotten his/her cash up front and that's the end of the deal as far as the owner cares. Quality teams have great practice facilities, and this attracts a better class of free agent. Quality teams spend more on coaches (Bill Belichick's annual salary is a trade secret, but I expect that Bob Kraft keeps BB's salary way up there). Quality teams hire large scouting departments. Quality teams bring high-rated prospects into town with first class airline tickets. Quality teams go a bit overboard and set new price standards when they produce Super Bowl rings. None of this counts against the salary cap.

The only question is, will the Jets coat that Revis contract with mustard, ketchup, or relish, when they gobble it down. LOL!!!
You know what would be a scream? Suppose that the Jets cut Revis, and, given his drop off in play and personal troubles, nobody touches him in free agency...and he ends up signing an incentive loaded $4 million dollar deal with the Patriots...and then he returns to form!
LOL!!!!!

I am pretty sure Goodell will find a way to open up an out for the Jets. It will be around the definition of conduct detrimental.

Revis will end up signing a modest, incentive laden one year deal with the Patriots...and will regain his pro bowl caliber form. LOL!!!
