Absolutely agree. I wish more college coaches would follow suit. More so, I wish more parents would crack down on their kids for grades, but also behavior, respectfulness, and attitude much earlier in life.

I’m going to use that word again.”accountability” or in this case lack there of by the players. Use whatever word you chose… accountability, responsibility… those values and traits should be instilled in the home growing up.

When it comes to putting in the blood, sweat and tears to raise these kids the right way.....today's parents are lazy.
They're always looking for shortcuts for their kids...."hey, can you pull some strings to get my kid a job at xyz?"....even though the kid is not qualified, mainly cause the kid phucked around when he was supposed to be learning and/or working.

Deion is pointing the finger, but doesn't some of the responsibility belong to him and his staff? pretty simple. don't attend classes. don't maintain a 2.0. don't play.

I think a majority don't on both counts.

I think you’re right, I’ll also say that what you described has been happening for a lot longer than just recently (especially the getting the kid a job thing). Bottom line is this…the world sorts things out (eventually). Unless the kid is family rich/family owns the business, the world will sort it out. There will be a wall and the kid will hit it. Hard. No one will be able to save them, not mommy, not daddy. They either will figure it out or they won’t. There will be an outlier here or there, but even then the kid figured something out (faking it, kissing ass, back stabbing, whatever) to move up wherever he landed, but bottom line all these babies that get everything spoon fed to them sooner or later will understand that the world will give you next to nothing if you can’t contribute. Then they’ll live off the government and become an enormous burden to the very parents that enabled them. And sometimes that’s the best revenge…watching those parents have to deal with the problem that they created…and THAT is a very real thing in our society today, yesterday, and unfortunately probably forever. I still see 70 year old men and women working because they’re supporting little 35 year old misfit Johnny, who’s sitting on the couch back home playing video games and drinking all the Mountain Dew.

Sad but true.

Going back to the dim dark days beyond recall I remember going to the library in college to do more research on a paper and in a corner there was one of our star basketball players with a tutor. He was reading aloud to her and it was like a third grade level book. He was struggling with it too. This amazed me. I never forgot it. How the heck did this kid get into this school? Maybe times have changed but these athletes do get breaks from the norm.
I guess what I'm saying is, based on this experience, are some of the kids able?

Ever research to find out the number of students in your district and how many were not promoted to the next grade and not held back due to lack of ability to read write and do math.

I'm not understanding your point. Should Deion, as the HC of the Colorado Buffaloes, not address an issue with his team, when said issue is brought to him by faculty?
