-interesting to see Slater back with the team listed as an advisor. we often heard the past 2 years he was coaching the gunners. will his role have him on the field again?
-sounds like Troy Brown has left the team and has joined the ASU team as their WR coach. I was a big fan of his as a player and again in his media spot. but the teams WR performances speak for themselves, and I am happy he is not returning.
-BillyO. Troy Brown. Steve B. Joe Judge. is Matt Groh next?
-Logan Ryan retired. he crossed my mind as a potential S candidate
-the last QB I watched some film on is Nix. I come away impressed. not saying take him at #3 over the other guys, but still impressed.
-I also like Polk at #68 after watching quite a bit of Penix.
-Bears trading up from #9 hunting a WR?
-I would love to see Edelman in camp working with the WR's
-jail time or not, I do believe R Rice will miss significant time this season. KC will be looking WR. would Pats jump ahead of them from 34 to 31?

Nix is a different style of QB versus the others. He prioritizes getting the ball to his receivers before they are closed down, so they have space to make plays after the catch. But he is more than capable of extending the pass play and throwing on the run.

I think Nix is in the Mac Jones territory, probably a better player, yes, but I’m all set with another “throw the guy open”, type. Where every throw is a short toss to a wide open guy in the flat, or a screen, or a receiver comes back for the ball away from the defender. I like all those traits, BUT I absolutely need a guy who can also throw the ball with velocity downfield between defenders in tight spots. I’m not sure Nix can do that.
Having said that, when talking about guys like this I think Nix actually does have a better chance of reaching some of the ceilings that were mentioned when Jones was coming out.

I am not saying Nix would be the guy for the offense we have run here forever. but out in SF? Denver? Miami? I think Nix would play. who knows what will happen here. what will the offense look like? but from what I see on the roster today, there are no targets that would make plays in space other than maybe Pop and Gibson Nix is accurate, mobile, shows plenty of arm, reads defenses. one interesting piece I picked up watching and listening on the top 6 QB's was regarding Penix. said facing the Mich defense, he was really flustered and confused. Mich was the team that played most like and nfl defense. how would he fair every week in the nfl? obvious arm talent, clearly a leader. great OL. even greater WR's.

I have not yet taken a look at Polk. my comments were when I was watching Penix tapes, highlights, etc, Polk looked really impressive. obviously they were not showing drops
