Well, I'm glad the Pats went with a Head Coach with tons of experience like Atlanta did. It's funny how a guy like BB with his knowledge and experience seems to be scaring owners into not hiring him. Not because he may bring their team success but because "he can't be trusted", according to Kraft. Hey I get it, he's old. Nobody wants to start over with a 72 yr. old coach who may be a pain in the tush. Of course, 72 is not the same as 72 fifty years ago. The man's been active his whole life and shows no signs of losing his mental faculties. Unless you count the hiring of Patricia and Judge to run his offense. Which makes me wonder, why he did that? I'm sure he didn't think they would master offensive coaching in one season. And yes, he lost a lot of coaches and assistants over the years. A drainage of the brain trust. Not letting BOB bring his own guys in tells me he didn't really want him just as I believe he really didn't want Mac Jones. I believe he wanted Jimmy Garoppolo but RK and Brady had something to say about that so BB didn't have "total" control like we've been led to believe. I don't believe anything coming out of RK's mouth these days. Hand-job Bob has gone off the rails imo. He's a sneaky, two-faced liar who seems more concerned about his own image now more than anything. i agree with every word you said in your last statement. and that worries the crap out of me, because i think its completely factual... and if thats the case, the patriots dont have much of a chance to be any kind of good or relevant until he sells the team.

In my experience, good bosses that let their long-time employees go provide good references and help them get new jobs, not stab them in the back when they literally were one of the biggest factor if not the biggest into building your brand into what it is today. Kraft and Blank are partners in the same business. if an owner of a company feels a long time employee needs to step down, does that owner put the employee into another part of the company? How would Belichick going to another team hurt the product? All it might do is make Kraft look dumb if it turned out to be the wrong decision, but I think it was the right call. I think once he was fired, Kraft should've been more than willing to help Bill get another job just out of respect for everything he's done here. It just feels like more and more that Kraft let toxic people in his camp poison his view on Bill over time.

Where is prairimike when you need him? This must be one of the most messy articles I have read in a long time. And whatever happened to critical thinking? It's clear most fans and nearly all of the radio guys are running with a couple of sentences lol. The article is a hot mess.
Disclaimer: I don't doubt that the relationship between RK and BB became strained at best. I accept that. It would be odd if two guys like that could work together for that many years and not want to choke each other lol.
1. 99% of the article lists all of the reasons why BB did not get hired by any of the teams, including the Falcons, and Kraft wasn't any of those reasons. Seriously, there were like a million reasons given for why BB wasn't hired by anyone.
2. The only reference to Kraft backstabbing BB is from a single source who didn't have direct knowledge, but talked to two other sources lol. It was the 2nd hand source close to BB which claimed RK was a big part of the reason BB wasn't hired by the falcons. This same source said he corroborated this with yet another 2nd hand source close to RK. Ok, so RK sabotaged BB and made sure everyone knew he did it? Sure…
3. Kraft is supposedly Blank's closest owner friend but apparently never knew any of Kraft's thoughts about BB until this? Really? Must not have been a very close friend.
4. Ok, this part sounds absurd: "Despite that friendly first session, the unthinkable happened for a billionaire and a legendary coach: Blank and Belichick checked each other's references." WTF? C'mon guys. Does this sound plausible? "Ok Bill, I'm going to check out your references. This is fairly normal for new interns we don't know a f#$k about. Oh! You work for Kraft. I'm actually a friend of his. He never mentioned you before though, so I need to give him a call. Had I known you worked for him earlier I would have checked your references before I invited you to my yacht. Oh, and here are some references you can call to check me out. BTW, are you any relation to that coach who came back to beat my team in the SB after going down 28-3?"
The most plausible explanation is that the Falcons' staff themselves talked Blank out of BB. BB didn't even make the top three cut for any of them. Could RK have been a factor? Perhaps…a minor factor. We do all remember the reports about their staff not wanting BB, right?

All I can say is this, the patriots had better win soon and better win a lot. If not the Krafts will be dumped on worse than the soil at a sanitation station (and they thoroughly will deserve it). There is absolutely no shield between the direct connect lion between success and failure right now - Belichick is gone and this falls directly on the Krafts. They had better have someone else lined up to be the fall guy now. Would you rather go into this coming season with the same old coach who is 4-5 years past his exit date, looking forward to more of the same dysfunction as previous years..... or optimistic with a younger, enthusiastic coach who could maybe turn this organization around? Seriously, could it get any worse than the past couple years?

I'm a Belichick guy, through and through. There is no doubt in my mind that he is the GOAT and the principal architect of the Pats' success over two decades. Having said that, I believe that Belichick will never again walk the sidelines as a HC. If the piece is at all accurate the trend is pretty clear - younger head coaches and GM/collaborative control over decision making. I think we are seeing teams/owners not wanting individuals to have such complete and total control. we have seen Harbaugh struggle to get back into the nfl, finally breaking thru after winning the national championship we saw Vrabel miss out we saw Carroll miss out we are seeing many teams in the league win with group think. SHanny/Lynch. McVey/Snead. Harbaugh/Decosta. Sirianni/Roseman. Bills way worked for 2 decades it has not over the past 5 seasons

ESPN is not a bastion of legitimate journalism and Wickersham is a proven hack. But, they do have the clickbait model down pat. That said, The Dynasty is proof that Kraft is jealous AF of Belichick and the credit he’s been given for the team’s success. So, I wouldn’t be shocked if he trashed him. Although, how it actually serves him in this context is definitely questionable.

The collaboration missed on the QB and took one that BB didn’t particularly want according to Wichersham. Mac sucked after week thirteen of his rookie season and never improved, he had a great OLine, weapons, defense and a “genius” coordinator and still sucked. This is the same sucky QB we watched for the last two years. So again… why is Wickersham legit except when he says something that paints BB in a more favorable light?

As much as I think Mac failed here, it's hard to reconcile his year 1 and his year 3. It just looks like 2 different people. No it hasn’t been reported who BB wanted instead. But on the GM Shuffle podcast days after the draft Femi the host repeated a tweet or something about “BB being lucky that Mac dropped to him at 15” and Lombardi scoffed at it. He said he knew for a fact BB was very interested in Davis Mills and would have taken him in the next round. When Mac Jones got hurt in week three of his second season against the Ravens he led the entire NFL in interceptions. He should have been benched then, he was the same sucky player he was from week 13 of his rookie season. He hadn’t improved at all. Zappe came in and played great, it was Mac… nobody ruined him, he just sucked.

Some of the article I think the authors take liberties as these particular guys usually do. But there is one thing that rings true. BB is a huge personality. He would scare the daylights out of most GMs as not being controllable. Makes sense to me. May be the very reason why he will not be coaching again sadly.
BB could be a GM killer. If the GMs top draft choice or a recent FA pickup isn't starting. BB may very well be in the rights in his decision making but the GM isn't going to be happy.
No matter where he goes to interview BB is the elephant in the room.

Is BB able to relate to young players; and can young players relate to Bill Belichick. He's 72 YOA now.
