I'll be watching the show on draft night, cause that moment when the Patriots are on the clock at 3 with him analyzing what they should do and his thoughts on the player they pick (assuming they don't trade) will be PRICELESS

Wow I wonder what he’d be like if he didn’t forget everything about football and let the game pass him by.

Huh? He’s employed by ESPN. I doubt it’s pro bono.

If they keep Mayo for a 3rd year after going 0-34 just shut the whole operation down, sell the franchise to an out-of-towner, and make Foxboro into a theme park destination like DollyWood or something. Or a museum honoring a once-proud franchise.
Rust, Rush, and MacPherson should be on a Patriot Mt. Rushmore, with a space reserved for Mayo if you give him that long a leash.

I would think they give Mayo 3 years, even if he is 0-34 in years 1 and 2 I think the PLAN is to give Mayo 3 years, but they're assuming he's not going to go 0-34 lol. They would most likely fire him after 2 years if he went winless, hell they might even do it after his first year if he goes 0-17. No team should ever go winless, no matter how bad they are. Even a rookie HC should be good enough to steal a game or 2 every season, just based on pure luck.

BB has probably done more draft work than most of the coaches in the league. Should be well prepared when he hopefully gets another coaching job next year.

I would think they give Mayo 3 years, even if he is 0-34 in years 1 and 2 if mayo goes 0-34 in his first 2 years, and is brought back for year 3, the entire patriots fan base needs to camp out at krafts estate and demand he sell the team immediately... and not leave until that happens

LOL bandwagon is mostly empty already on this forum not a lot of Mayo fans here all we need now is TCal I'd say most of us are wary of Mayo, but nothing worse than that. Given how little we know about him as a coach, I don't know how or why a bandwagon could exist at this point. In the here and now all I know is that we know little of him as a coach, nothing of him as a HC, that he likely undermined the last HC, that he likely had his head 2 feet up Thunder's ass, that he should open his mouth less, and that he seems to be one of those players coaches (don't last long even if they sometimes start out strong). If he wins he'll win the fanbase over. If he wins a lot we will overlook what seemed to be a campaign of backstabbing BB and sucking up to Thunder to get the job. But until he wins, I and many others are going to be wary of him. In fact, if he wins a lot for a long time we'll fight to be the first to tell you how we were behind him all along lol.

I don’t like him. Just like you don’t like Bill. You have your reasons, I have mine. Mostly, I think he’s a phony hype man who will be exposed when he has to you know, actually coach a football team. I would typically say “I hope I’m wrong” about now. But, I really don’t care that much one way or the other. I’m looking forward to when they fire him.

I hope he succeeds but I won't lie, I'm not fond of backstabbers. When we read reports during the season about Mayo acting different and even undermining BB I dismissed those reports. But when Thunder described how he knew on a trip to Israel that Mayo would not only be a great HC, but the next HC of the Patriots, I asked myself one simple question. Is there any scenario where that would unfold that doesn't involve Mayo backstabbing BB? My answer was no, there isn't. And while I have defended Kraft from some attacks I find meritless, he did allow this to happen. Gotta blame him too. But as others have pointed out here, he seems different now.

I loved Bill. he was the 2nd best thing to ever happen to the Patriots he stayed too long, but at least he definitively answered that long running debate of could he win with out Brady.

First off, don't know why this Thread became about Mayo? BUT, my take on BB doing this is to "show" ALL 32 teams what they want to see if they are skeptical of hiring him next year (How BB's drafting/football mind works) without technically interviewing him. Kind of a "Free" event to showcase his Football knowledge, see that he isn't as stuffy as they perceive him to be, etc.
