While we look forward to a solid win here and at a time when we need to put a streak of sorts together this game has some dangerous aspects: - First, the Jests are actually playing better than people generally expected (far far better than I ever expected)
- A loss here would be a huge blow as it would make us a very mediocre 3-3, a loss inside division, and a loss to a team we expected to beat (twice). Losing to such a mediocre team doesnt change our roster but it brings into question whether we are a solid playoff team let alone a SB champion/contender
- This is their SB (and they get to play it 2 times a year)
- We have been making teams look better than they are. So we need to continue to see improvement especially on the O line and the D
- Speaking of the O line, they are going up against the strength of the Jests which is their D line
- TB has been beat up.... he needs to be protected. ANd right away. No equivocating on this (BB - I am sure you get this)
(in the voice of Babe): No shit sherlock. THe job of the other 52 players should be to keep TB safe and sound
Portfolio1: Babe, some of them have other jobs, like running, catching, tackling, covering, kicking....
(in the voice of Babe): No shit sherlock. But job 1 is protect the GOAT
Portfolio1: I wont disagree that it is mission critical

1. Have we really been making teams look better than they are? As far as I can tell the teams that beat us look pretty darned good. The QB's that looked good against us are looking pretty good against everyone else too. Even that rookie is acquitting himself quite well. 2. I expect a tough game. It wouldn't matter if we were 5-0 going into the game. Division rivals often play each other tough no matter the record. 3. Our division foes all built solid DL's. They know that is the only way to slow down Brady. Might get ugly. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the Tampa game was the beginning of a turnaround. BB seemed pleased afterwards. They make another step in the right direction here.

Funny post. I hope Babe gets a chuckle if he’s still reading here.
As far as the Pats/Jets we don’t know who’s going to show up on either sideline. The Pats have had moments where they looked great, and then they look not so great. Like you said, this is the Jets SB and knowing that NE is vulnerable right now must have them chomping at the bit to get after NE.
I’m looking to see an improvement on penalties, and communication within the LB’s and DB’s in short yardage and RZ situations. Seeing if the OL can keep TB clean. I’m figuring it’s going to be a good game for NE. It’s time to start a win streak for this roster. Go Pats!

I watched the Sominex Bowl last week Jets and Browns, simple if we lose, this team is in big trouble. Basically stop Powell and the run game on Defense, and No Turnovers on Offense. I know Division Rival, and should be nervous, but I'm not. Pats are just too good.
Also like this Team as Road Warriors, I think less noise and play us against the world attitude. At least that's what I see between Road games and Home games. For some reason they lose their focus at home, they think it's going to be easy.

I want us ready FIRST. I dont think we are there yet by a long shot. So truly hoping for a major improvement this week and another strong step for mankind next week. Hoping our muskets turn the Falcons into bird droppings but as I say, we are not locked and loaded yet (and please dont pick up some political spin on a reference to guns... another time, another place).

Here's how I see the next couple of games playing out...
Everyone expects the Jets game to be a cake-walk. It won't be. It rarely is. It's one of those rivalry games that somehow always ends up being close. We usually win, but it's rarely a blowout. I expect the same type of game this weekend. Close until the end, another ugly game, but the Patriots winning in a close one. I don't expect Brady to play great, especially nursing a shoulder injury, but I think he will be good enough.
Then, due to the not-so-pretty effort against a sub-par Jets team, everyone will be down on the Patriots, again. Defense will be questioned, again, Brady will be under the microscope. Coaching, player personnel, blah blah blah. Everyone will be counting the Pats out vs Atlanta. No way our D can stop them, right? Well, at that point I expect the Patriots to come out with their hair on fire and play their best game to that point in the season. I think the Defense will rise to the occasion and play a great game. I think Brady will play great and I think NE will beat the Falcons. That will be the game that catapults the Pats onto a hot streak and gets them playing up to their potential.

We'll have a few games we worry about and then come up with all sorts of reasons why we should win 200-3 all the other games lol. I still have the all the smack talk about Atlanta fresh in my mind. Yeah, that defense was terrible lol. Good thing they didn't have the conditioning to go 4 quarters. I wonder if this is something all fanbases do?

I don't think many here marginilize every weekly opponent. Sure a few do but for the most part the poster here are pretty much know how difficult division games are and how difficult it is to win weekly in the NFL.
