He's only about an inch shorter and is athletic like Gates once was (before all the injuries) Hopefully he can grasp the playbook and offense so we can get more production from that area and put that broken hot water tank named Allen at the curb for special pickup.

Questions... If he is as talented as everyone here is saying, why was he released (I'm asking, I don't know a lot about him, and I know the Giants have a young TE)? And why was he still available? No other teams need an experienced TE? I'd say he now has 4 weeks (3 games and the bye week) to show anything. If he does, Allen's time may be short.

Chances are he never sees the field. PS guys come and go, most don't ever get activated.

He has some NFL production on his resume unlike most practice squad players....32 games played, 94 receptions, 897 yards, 4 TD's. Not to bad for a guy who has been on the periphery of rosters and just entered the NFL in 2015. Why he isn't on someone's active roster or even PS is anyone's guess. Maybe we just consider ourselves lucky? Or maybe he's just not that good? I don't know. But the one thing that gives me some iota of hope with him is that BB knows how to use TE's in our offense.

Allen kills me, I just don't get it... I had high hopes for him coming in this year. The guy had some pretty productive years in Indy, 126 catches and 19 TDs in 56 games. But he can't integrate himself into this offense to the point where he has a single catch after 5 games here? Sounds like he just can't get on the same page with TFB... www.espn.com/blog/new-england-patriots/post/_/id/4806724/dwayne-allen-i-certainly-havent-played-up-to-my-potential

He's had 6 targets and has made 0 catches. I imagine if he had maybe made more catches and turned them into something, he might also have some more targets? At some point TB is going to quit going to him if he can't catch the ball, or doesn't know how to run the right route. We've seen it before. So Allen better uncork his head rom his backside most ricky tick.

Brady will turn him in to the next Antonio Gates All Brady can do is throw a well-placed ball to an open player. He can't run their routes for them or wave his hands and force separation from defenders. Nor can he force their hands to actually grab the ball. And should I be wrong I have one request of Brady….why haven't you sprinkled any of your pixie dust on Allen?

I don't know how about they call a simple pass play just to get him involved. These passes where it's 15-20 yards on deep outs not his thing at the moment, must show in practice, why do it in games? 1 pass a couple of weeks ago was under-thrown. He was pretty open. You bring in 1 guy, and he's never going to be involved in an Offense, helps the Defense. He's a 5-10 yard TE, he's not Hernandez. 10 yard line and in with Indy, he did pretty good. Why isn't he used there? It's up to the Coaches to play to a Players strength.

Good blocking and maybe 20 catches this season, but so far he hasn't even given us Hooman production. He looks a lot slower this year and his hands have turned into cinder blocks. I believe Tim Wright is available. At least he scored 6 TD's the one year he was here. At this point I'm not sure why they don't sign him and move on from Allen. Develin could handle the blocking or Fleming.

Look at Ocho, always a great receiver but when he was here he looked like he was running routes based on what mapquest.com told him to do. It looks like Allen has the same issue and he also runs like a washing machine full of concrete
