Agree 100% .....This could be his breakout game. With Brady banged up and the Jets allowing 145 on the ground per game we could see a heavy dose of Gilislee, especially if the are up double digits in the second half.

When Mike comes in, teams know we're running, yes the same could be said in the past of Blount and others, the difference now is we aren't playing with a substantial lead looking to run down clock.
For Gillislee to be relevant, fantasy or otherwise, he needs multiple pass interference penalties like Cooks drew in that first game and/or for our offense to get up on opponents and our defense to stop them. We need to play with a lead. When games are still tight a duel threat RB is a better option because we're less predictable. We need and want Burkhead to get back healthy so we can utilize him.
Though I agree the Jests are a good team to get our running game right against, they can't stop a nosebleed.

Agree. This could be a break out game for Gillislee.
And yes, we do tend to run more when Gillislee is on the field.
However, he's not as 1 dimensional as Blount was.
In 2016, Gillislee had 11 receptions for 59 yards. While not a White or Lewis, he is capable of catching passes here and there to keep a defense honest.
The Pats should use him a bit more in the passing game. Not saying run the offense through him or use him like white, but mix it up a bit.

The thing will Gillislee, they bring in Develin too. Geez, as a DC I'm saying to myself, I don't see 1 Iota of a Pass threat there. Pretty easy to Defend, no? He should be part of normal Offense, and more often too. Simple swing pass shouldn't be that complicated.

If this team ever had balance so the passing game and running game would compliment each other they would put up 40 points a game instead of 30. And TB would get less hits. This is the new age of Football where OC are so intense on passing the Football, and all the Offensive Plays with imagination, is for the Pass. Very, very little to the run. So continue this, put the pressure on O-Line, and expect TB to get hit a lot. Has nothing to do that I want to run the ball, it has to do with common sense. Stay 1 way, you will get Defensed, and stopped.

Agreed, if this team could ever play with a decent lead in the second half, his numbers would be much better.

He looks like he could have some big games ahead. The problem imo is that the offensive play calling can be too predictable. On the short yardage stops everyone in the building knew he was getting it and where he was going to run. More balance in the play calling will help both the running and passing game, plus it will help keep Brady from getting hit on just about every down.

I agree about predictability but it shouldn’t matter on a one yard run. Every knows Blount, or Lynch( unless it’s a SB), or Hunt is getting the rock and they get the yard anyways. Brady has a great percentage on QB sneaks. Why not let him audible to that if it looks good. Regardless, like you said, the run game needs to be more prevelant to take some of the heat off of Brady and keep D’s honest.

I'd take Hyde in a nanosecond.
