Well remember when JG got hit very similarly people here called him not being tough. You know ... it's a funny thing, but that Garappolo hit was the first thing I thought of when I saw Rodgers go down. The strange thing was that Rodgers didn't even look like he was in very much pain, and he clearly had some choice words for Anthony Barr ... but I don't think the hit was dirty ... or at least not very. Rodgers is out of the pocket at that point. If anything, I thought Barr might get called for landing on Rodgers and driving him into the turf a little bit. Out here Vikings fan thrives on the notion that the Packers -- and especially Rodgers -- get all the calls. Not this time, I guess.
I don't care one way or the other about Green Bay, but it changes the entire landscape of the NFL when a guy of Rodgers caliber goes out. And it's not just the NFC. Think about Pats fans who might have been counting on a Packers victory over Bitchburgh, for instance, to assist their own team's playoff positioning.
Stranger things have happened, but I don't think Green Bay is going anywhere with Chet Huntley at quarterback.
(editor's note: you will have to be of a certain age to understand that last bit).
Didn't Huntley have a partner? This is what happens when you get old.

What is there to queue up? He is blacklisted. It's patently obvious. Whether he can demonstrate collusion is a separate issue, but is anyone really disputing that he is blacklisted? Kap isn't a great player, but have you seen the state of the QB position lately? Look who is starting games and the dude can't even get a job as a backup. we have gone over this. Kap has to play pistol to be minimally effective. how many teams play pistol? he simply is not good enough to warrant the aggravation . period. Exactly. Hes not in the league because he sucks. If he was any good, many teams would deal with his off field bs

He could easily start for a handful of teams and is a better backup than 99% of the teams currently have. We all know why he really isn't on a team.

On top of it, he's a horrendous pocket passer and a gadget/system specific qb. If hes not good enough to be a starter there's two or three teams in the whole league that maybe he could back up for. He's not in the league because he's not good enough

I gotta say your dislike for the guy is evident, so much so that you judge his talent based on your dislike for him. Do you listen or watch any sports talk shows? Your opinion of his talent is totally opposite what the sports world thinks. Aaron Rodgers isn't a pocket passer, Kaepernick would totally fit the Packets offense... more so than the names some bring up... like Romo, lmao. Romo would be horrible, he would be killed in the first game.

He isn't blackballed? Are you serious? You really don't believe that, do you? He isn't any good? He should be starting for a handful of teams and backing up 99% of the league. People say the Packers should sign Romo, Dungey even said to bring back Favre... and you're saying Kaep isn't blackballled. Ummmm... ok!! Lmao!!

He's system specific however, and I don't buy he could backup 99% of what teams currently have. You either fit the scheme or you don't, and in this case, there are a small handful of teams that play his style on offense. When he opted out of his contract with the Niners, I thought he would be a perfect backup for Russell Wilson in Seattle. Similar style that Krapernick plays.

Boomer weighs in on topic (and mentions Jacoby) www.yahoo.com/sports/boomer-esiason-colin-kaepernick-saga-152244156.htmlSunday saw the Packers potentially lose Aaron Rodgers for the season while Colin Kaepernick filed a grievance against NFL owners for collusion. Could all of this be solved by the Packers signing Kaepernick? Boomer Esiason doesn't think so. Appearing on Toucher & Rich Monday morning, Esiason stressed the lack of attention played to both Kaepernick's ability and his contract demands when noting why the 29-year-old remains out of the league. "There is no way in the world that Colin Kaepernick could go in there tomorrow, learn that offense and go out on the field and play next week," Esiason said of a fit with the Packers. "I don't know what people are thinking about. I don't know why they don't understand that the NFL and offenses in the NFL are extremely difficult to pick up, and that's why I give former Patriot quarterback Jacoby Brissett as much credit as I possibly can, doing what he's doing what he's doing with the Indianapolis Colts, and he's been doing it on the fly." Added Esiason: "The other aspect of all of this with Colin Kaepernick is how much does he want? And how much more is he going to let somebody else talk for him? When is he going to open his own mouth and say, ‘Yeah, you know, I want to play and this is how much I want' Everyone just assumes that somebody should just sign him because he went to the Super Bowl a number of years ago and they should write him a $10 million check because he's some sort of activist. "I'm sorry. It doesn't work that way. You're either prepared to play and when you go in and you get an opportunity, you make the most of it. Remember, he's the one that walked away from the San Francisco 49ers. He's the one that said, ‘Hey, I'll go walk away from my contract and the amount of money you're going to pay me.' At the end of the day, other teams decided to interview and didn't want him." Esiason says that there is "no way" Kaepernick will be able to prove collusion on the part of the NFL. Rather, Esiason hinted at the move being a publicity stunt. "This is just another thing in the media, it's just another thing to promote what he's trying to do, it's another thing to put a black eye on the NFL," Esiason said. "In my eyes, that's what this is. "He could be fighting for social justice and be the greatest human being in the world. At the end of the day, football teams want players who want to play football and who are good at it, and I don't believe he's either one."

Yeah, this is simple. Kapernick isn't playing because he isn't very good and he's a gimmick guy who requires a team to redesign their offense. He regressed badly in SF and he's just not a good QB. He isn't blackballed. He just sucks.

side note on the collusion charges; Kap and his lawyers are bringing the case, not the NFLPA.

Gosh ... you guys sure do love to beat the Colon Kaepernick horse ...
But back to Aaron Rodgers ...
I couldn't help but chuckle (as I often do) at the wild hypocrisy of, not only Vikings fan, but also Vikings pundit. We already know that the NFL is full of beans about "player safety," and I guess we shouldn't be surprised that fans talk out of both sides of their mouths, but it is more than faintly amusing (to me, at least) to hear the same blowhards who were simpering and whining like petulant little girls because those nasty, mean N'awlins Saints had the temerity to actually hit Brett Favre every chance they got in a certain NFC Championship Game not too long ago ... now claiming that defensive players are coached to inflict punishment on the quarterback whenever the opportunity presents itself ... and that's just "football."
People ...
I'm tellin' ya.
As we often discover, it's all about whose ox is being gored (if you know that one).
You can't make it up.
