from PS most likely taking Langhi roster spot to play ST
Pats sign NT to PS who played for the 49'ers last season, Mike Purcell
not sure what to read into this regarding Valentine. I had been lead to believe he was ready to return

I feel like the Patriots might really like Reilly. I'm interested to see how he does. As for the Purcell signing, I doubt it has anything to do with Valentine. Purcell is probably just a player they want to get a closer look at.

I am hoping Reilly being active relieves Hogan from ST play
If Danny is not available, do we see Chung returning punts?

Reilly is an interesting prospect, a tall and rangy linebacker/end, he's hard to project because he was coming off knee surgery and gave a partial work out. He did bench press though, and 26 reps for a guy his size is strong. He also ran a 4.6 forty at his pro day, pretty fast for a guy his size, especially coming off knee surgery.
He also had a ton of tackles as a college senior, sacks and INT's, which implies he's more than end... though strong enough play there.
Hopefully he can carve out a role here like Ninck or Vrabel before him, we could use some good news at linebacker.

Is this another one of those guys who just could not find the right place?

Pats gave him a raise while on PS, to $15,000 a week. Standard pay a week is $7,200. They didn't want to lose him. They are doing it with Angelo Blackson too. And CB Ryan Lewis is getting $27,352.94 a week same as a Rookie. They must really like him.
