I see he is wanting to return(but not play for the Bills), and the Bills are now willing to listen to trade offers. Assuming Mitchell does not come back, could Boldin come in and give the team 5-15 snaps a game after the bye? could he be a viable target by the playoffs?

Assuming Mitchell does not come back, could Boldin come in and give the team 5-15 snaps a game after the bye? could he be a viable target by the playoffs? I think so. His last productive year was last year with Detroit. 67 receptions, 584 yards, 8.7 YPC. Worth noting is his YPC...8.7 is by far his lowest YPC of his career. I get it. He's 37 years old, and not what he once was, but, if he can still be a solid possession receiver in the short part of the field, he's worth a look. I still think we need help in the short part of the field. Joining this system half way through the year is not easy. But to your question of "can he be ready by playoff time?". I would think so. He's also a good signing I think (assuming he still has something left) to help keep Amendola and maybe Hogan fresh. Any time a player is discussed, I'll ask the same question....How do you make room for him? Who gets axed or traded?

Who's snaps is he going to take? And who's roster spot? Are you taking Hogan off the field for him? Danny hands? Certainly not Cooks. He will contribute nothing on special teams, so you can't cut a core special teamer for him. You are going to pay a guy to play (maybe) 5 snaps a game? They already have Dorsett in that role.

He after all went to the Bills to win Championships and quit soon after the season started.

O-line, D help. Team is set at WR. I do not think anyone here is disappointed with the Patriots' receiver corps right now.

I think the team carries 5. Dorsett is a project for next year. Danny and Hogan are beat up and it is game 7 with a long way to go Yeah, if he would come, I would give him 5 snaps to start and build him up as he learns the offense. He and Gronk inside. Cooks and Hogan outside. Danny playing 15 snaps per game I would do it

Boldin is to fighting for balls as Rodman is to rebounding. Love to see him here.

www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/21173500/anquan-boldin-considering-return-buffalo-bills-letting-agent-shop-him"In a letter obtained by ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Bills granted Tom Condon, agent for the 14-year veteran of the NFL, permission to speak with other teams "for the sole purpose of discussing a trade for Anquan". The letter, dated Thursday, mentions Boldin's desire to be in closer proximity to his home in Florida and his family. Boldin announced on Aug. 20, less than two weeks after signing a one-year deal with the Bills, that he was leaving football to focus on social activism." Not sure Foxboro is that much closer to Florida that it would attract him.
