So who is the best kicker in the 2020 draft?
Bailey can KO but can he do FGs And do we want him doing both or all 3? Then the by qb is holder?

"The Ghost" makes a ton of money (for a kicker), will be 36 years old, and is coming off a hip injury. So...yes, I suspect that the Patriots will draft a place kicker next season. Saw a fantastic college kicker on Saturday...Anders Carlson, from Auburn. But, he's only a sophomore. His brother, Daniel, is the kicker for the Oakland Raiders. Here's a list of the top kickers available in the 2020 draft: walterfootball.com/draft2020K.php

In the vacuum of only watching the Patriots, it is obvious some think the Pats have a kicker problem. But, when viewed across the league, the Pats are in fairly good shape even when Ghost had his hip issue. One's negative viewpoint definitely gets worse when using a small, my team only, sampling.

Ghost is already a shoe in for ring of honor if he is able to return to his usual self after injury and put in a few more years, border line HOF'er too bad all posters cannot see this

The only kicker with HOF credentials is Adam Vinatieri...and "The Ghost" fades away when compared to him.

Ghost has the rings and the counting numbers and the accuracy numbers to be in the discussion other than AdamV, who has been better this decade?? in an outdoor stadium?? as I said, too bad all posters do not see this

Yes, Gostkowski has rings. But, he was more like an innocent bystander, rather an active participant in those SB wins. Vinatieri, on the other hand, won two Super Bowls with his kicks, and made the greatest field goal in NFL history during the 2001 season playoff win over the Raiders, with his 45 yarder in blizzard conditions.
It's not even close.

The Patriots don’t have “kicking woes”.
Much ado about nothing.

The Patriots don’t have “kicking woes”. Much ado about nothing. I think Gostkowski will be missed. There's still a long way to go...and Mike Nugent nearly missed two extra points last Sunday, and seemingly has limited range on field goal attempts.

I have never compared the 2 kickers. I also acknowledged AdamV gets in easily. I said Ghost is borderline this isn't your Jets thread. you do not have to argue with yourself who has been better than Ghost this decade?

Did you seriously call Gronk a moron yesterday? Who do you think you are? The guy may not be a Rhodes scholar, but has worked hard, made himself into a champion, and into a Hall of Fame tight end. That both deserves and commands respect. What have you ever done...except arrogantly spew here? Your pomposity knows no bounds.
Call this my Wednesday observation.

Strip out AV's snow kick and the "opportunity" to kick a game winner in 2 other SB's... (you can't control opportunity as a Kicker, BB did not give him a shot in 2007 early and he did not have chance late as Brady could not get them in FG range. He did have an opportunity and sealed/closed out this most recent SB win, etc., etc.)
People define AV's whole career mostly on his amazing snow kick.
With Patriots: Ghost - 204 Gms / Long 62 / FG% 87.4% / XP% 98.3% (includes 4 seasons of kicking XP's from the longer new position) AV - 160 Gms / Long 57 / FG% 81.9% / XP% 98.1% (ZERO XP attempts made at longer distance)

so in other words, there is no one you can mention that has been better than Ghost the past 10 years?

I won’t wade into AV vs Ghost but Ghost has had an outstanding career. If they let kickers in the HOF, Adam and Ghost both belong.

Pick one of these four teams in free agency. Lions, Falcons, Saints & Vikings Make more than half your kicks in climate controlled wind free environments as you age

Strip those plays away? That's what has made Adam a sure fire Hall of Famer.
Where are Adam's Indy stats?
Opportunity kicks? BB passed on giving Gostkowski an "opportunity kick" in SB 42, when he opted to go for a 4th and 13, rather than have The Ghost try a 48 yard field goal...in a domed stadium. His missed extra point caused the Patriots to have to scurry and convert two (2) two point plays to win SB 51.There were also key misses in SB 52 and 53.
Gostkowski has been a very good kicker for N.E.. But he's nowhere near in Vinatieri's league for being clutch...and he's not a "border-line" Hall of Famer.

you are absolutely entitled to your opinion I, and others, feel you are wrong. I feel he is close, but needs a few more seasons I welcome you to change my mind. so far you have not been able to. you can name a handful of misses. but his consistency in the playoffs has been excellent. he is 88 for 92 with XP's (96%) and he is 39 for 44 with FG's (89%)

..well I was trying to do apples to apples but since you insist... In INDY(in a dome(climate controlled with no wind)):AV - 198 Gms/ Long 55 / FG% 86.1% / XP% 97.2% (includes 4 seasons of kicking XP's from the longer new position) Oh look still not as good as Ghosts numbers, oh well. That snow kick sure was awesome though wasn't it? Last year outdoors vs the Chiefs. AV 0/1 on FG attempts AND 1/2 on XP attempts. Super clutch.

It's clutch kicks in big moments that make a kicker a Hall of Famer.
How many HOF kickers are there?
Has Gostkowski ever kicked 5 FGs in a game?: www.foxsports.com/nfl/story/vinatieri-still-kickin-it-with-5-field-goals-in-colts-win-100916
Where's your stat about FGs Made? I think that's kind of an important stat, don't you?
Vinatieri 590 (all-time NFL record), Gostkowski, 374. www.nfl.com/player/stephengostkowski/2506922/careerstats
Just dropped the microphone.
Any comebacks, Karpie?
