Lions showing winning can be done in different ways they drafted the stud OT they drafted stud WR they hit big on their OC they traded for (and most likely will resign in free agency) the franch QB
not saying Brissett is that QB, but having a very good team and OC certainly has elevated Goff's game.

Who are you getting at QB? I say that as someone who loves Joe Alt. But we need a QB. we take who we can. It won’t matter who we take if the OL sucks. If this is going to be a 3 year rebuild then fix the lines now. Honestly I wouldn’t have issue going Alt at 3 and DT in the second. We shouldn’t reach for any of our first 3 picks. If they trade back, Alt isn’t getting past the Chargers.

Would they pass on the wideout and take the OL? If they take Alt they would have a very strong OL. They could grab a wideout later on.

www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/patriots-christian-barmore-discussing-extensionThe Patriots will be adding a number of rookies to the roster over the coming days, but that’s not the only thing that de facto G.M. Eliot Wolf and the rest of the personnel department is working on right now. Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports that the team is discussing a contract extension with defensive tackle Christian Barmore. Barmore was a 2021 second-round pick and he is in the final year of his rookie deal. Barmore has only started 11 games over the last three seasons, but he’s played more than half of the team’s defensive snaps in two of those years. That number spiked in 2023 when Barmore played two-thirds of the team’s snaps. Barmore has 133 tackles, 12.5 sacks, 32 quarterback hits, and a forced fumble in 44 overall appearances.

Talk about a draft day coup to get a dominant DT in the second round. But BB couldn’t draft 🤡

Could do ALT at 3 or slight trade down, and then do QB at 34 if one of the 6 drops that far. Maybe a trade down to 5 for ALT and then add LAC second and then take alt at 5, and best WR and QB available at 34 and 37. id be ok with that but 2 of our first 3 picks need to start or be able to play right away. I disagree initially. LT has to start immediately. QB and WR should be ready to start before years end.

Yeah, glad we didn't take this offer I don't know about that, depends on what 'mid round' actually means and whether it was say a 5th this year and a 4th next year. Basically it would be trading Maye for JJ and one of Brain Thomas, Tyler Guyton, Jordon Morgan, or ______, with the ability to take someone else at #34, or #68 and not being desperate for a WR at 34 or a OT at 68. And looking at having two first rounders next year.
Personally I am not convinced Maye is a significantly better prospect than JJ. And I think Brain Thomas vs Polk is a home run, and then using 34 to trade back wherever and take Paul or any of the 2nd round OTs or DeJean or ______?
I also think taking Guyton (or Morgan) vs Wallace is a home run, and then having 68 as a non-desperation pick of an OT or if they are really that high on Wallace, doubling up at OT.

It was reported as 3rd rd picks. The offer wasn’t remotely close to even consider for a second.

I never believe any of these media reports about what trade offers were after the fact. it was reported yesterday that minnesota, on the day of the draft, called back, and said theyd do the 3 1s and remove all the pick swaps they had previously offered and just do the deal of 3 for 11,23 and 25 1st.

To me this is a "neutral" trade. I'd do it if I wasn't sold on Maye or one of the other 3 QB's available, but it would cost more if I really liked one. If it was a 2024 top 15 2nd rnd pick versus the 2025 1st I'd have been a little more intrigued. Could have had Nix at 11, Morgan or Guyton OT's at 23, Polk or McConkey at 34, Dejean or Jenkins for the D mid to early 2nd round, and then BPA for the other picks. Would have been more solid everywhere except QB, and even then you still get one of the big 6. Like I said, you don't take it without more if you like Maye or another allot.
