Remember when that fool Mehta declared that the Jets would be in first place by now and the Patriots would be lucky to be playing .500 football? LMAO!!! Didn't he do a mea culpa and APlogize the next week?

Mehta's article in May was even better and just as wrong:
AFC East might be up for grabs with Tom Brady suspended, but Jets need even more breaks to steal division from Patriots
The postseason should absolutely be the expectation for a team coming off a 10-win campaign. ..... 2016 will be a failure if the Jets don't snap their five-year playoff drought.
Decker is smart enough to know that Tom Brady's four-game Deflategate suspension opens the door for the rest of the AFC East.
So, how close are the Jets to making a deep run in the 2016 playoffs? "I think we're there, to be honest," Decker said
and the best:
1.Sign Ryan Fitzpatrick
Yes, he's 33. Yes, he's the "bridge quarterback."
Myers: Jets don't seal deal when best players are due big bucks Oh, and yes, he gives the Jets the best chance to make the playoffs this season.
That should matter. I assume it matters to the Jets, but you know what they say when you assume.
The Jets are ready to make a playoff run with Fitzpatrick. Stop fooling around and sign the man.

Rooting for both teams to be as close too 8-8 as possible. Both of those organizations deserve decades of mediocrity.

Yup - I always like the teams I hate to wallow in mediocrity - just bad enough to miss the playoffs, but good enough to be in the high teens for the next years draft. (Or as the Jets have done a few times, be in the top ten and then blow the draft pick! :-)

I don't get this one - they know what Geno can and can't do and Fitz at his best is better than Geno at his as has been proven - stick with Fitz and see if after the tough first six games he can turn it around or give the ball to Bryce Petty and see what he can do and see if he can learn - going back to Geno is a stall move at best

Sounds like a "Suck-for-Luck" style move. Of course the Jests will somehow blow that high first rounder as usual!

In one recent game, he managed to achieve a quarterback rating in the 20s. Maybe the staff has figured out that Fitz is probably never going to see "his best" again. It happens. Fitz is 33 years old and the Jets are his sixth NFL team. Just last July Fitz was a free agent. He held out and signed a fully guaranteed $12 million dollar 1 year contract. Why are you laughing?

Getting rid of Revis was pure genius, we got Butler cheap and Jets re-inherit a huge contract headache to go with his declining skills, very many laughs to this

From PFT: We heard reports on Monday morning that Jets defensive ends Muhammad Wilkerson and Sheldon Richardson were benched for the first quarter of Sunday’s game against the Dolphins because of frequent absences from and lateness to team meetings. It’s not the first time that Wilkerson has been disciplined in that manner since Todd Bowles became the team’s head coach. It does appear to be the first time that baked goods are involved, however. Mike Garafolo of NFL Media reports that Wilkerson missed both a walkthrough and a defensive meeting the day before the team played the Ravens on October 23. That Saturday was Wilkerson’s 27th birthday and, per Garafolo, there was a birthday cake to celebrate the occasion at the meeting Wilkerson is said to have blown off. There’s no word about what kind of cake the Jets whipped up for Wilkerson’s special day or whether the rest of the team’s defenders enjoyed it without the guest of honor. Bowles hasn’t commented beyond saying that it was a coach’s decision and said at his Monday press conference that he is satisfied with the commitment level of both defensive linemen.

The drive for mediocrity continues on for the J E T S Jets , Jets Jets. I hope Woody and his brain trust continue their maximum effort in pursuit of this lofty goal. Carry on.

They continue to shoot their own feet. I was a fraction of an inch from feeling sorry for them but I'm better now.

Malcolm Mitchell burned got paid well Revis for 2 TD's tonight, can't believe how nicely this worked out for us. Meanwhile Butler forced a fumble to get us going defensively.

So true - forgot to mention that the satisfaction of Mitchell burning Revis added to the win for sure

This thread should be the colts/Jests game thread. Looks like the jests are already making tee times.
