I went with Alt. To me he is the truest “can’t miss” prospect on the draft. The Pats can not miss on this pick. The experience is there. The game tape is there to watch. He’s played a lot of games and is ready to start day 1. Picking this guy would ensure your OL has the anchor it needs for the next 5-10 years. Its really tempting to pick Alt, but not at 3. If thats who they ultimately want, then move down to 6 and take him. I'm not worried about AZ or the Chargers picking him since both need receivers and if Minnesota trades up its for the QB at 4/5. So move to 6, get NY's 2nd rounder this year and 1st next year and take Alt if thats what they want. If they pick him at 3, that would be a waste of an asset IMO. Agreed. I thought the question was who would I pick in the first round not what # pick correct? The NYG traded their second rounder to Carolina. They still have pick 47 but that’s no where near as enticing as 39 was. I’d trade with AZ for 4 and 35 or SD with 5 and 37 if I could. Stacking early second rounders gives them the best options. Really neither of those teams need trade up to get a WR so its kind of a moot point.

All I know about these QBs is this. If everything we hear can be taught or fixed actually could be taught or fixed Zach Wilson would be lighting it up in NY and Aaron Rodgers would still be bitchin and moaning in GB. Oh, and the NFL would be chock full of very good QBs. I'm becoming pessimistic about this QB class. I'm glad I don't have to make the call. So your pick in the first round would be an OT or WR?

Why Jj? And what team would you trade with where JJ would still be available?

Trade #3.....acquire more picks this year and next. Lots of players I like day 2.
Just watched more JJM and Penix. JJM excellent mobility and throwing on the run. However, JJM not ready for the NFL b/c he's not yet capable of making enough NFL throws. Most of his throws were flats, crosses and to semi-stationary targets. Did not see many down-the-field throws or many anticipatory throws. Again, I'm out on JJM in the first 2 rounds.
Penix arm angle is a little too flat and could end up getting passes batted down. His accuracy is not consistent enough yet. He's also not very mobile. However, he does seem to understand defenses better than most of the other guys....and is able to find his 2nd and 3rd reads. He seems to have better processing than JJM and Drake. If he's there @34, I might pull the trigger....unless there's a starting LT on the board.

Daniels is almost 3 years older then Lamar Jackson coming out for the NFL. Also started 21 more College games then Jackson. That 1 year wonder by Daniels, with 3 Great Receivers has me worried. I think 36 of his 40 TD Passes went to Nabers, Thomas Jr, and Lacey. JJ McCarthy staying in school 2 more years, then coming out for Draft pretty sure he would be #1 overall pick. Regardless of Orlovsky, who I said I wasn't a fan of. This is Daniels Career. 1 year only I see at older age. Playing against Players at a Younger age. www.footballdb.com/players/jayden-daniels-danie0131

Am in the Maye camp, but Daniels would be fun to watch as the defenses would have to account for him..Unlike our previous QB’s.. I think Maye has more upside and unlike the last 4 years, coaches who actually work and develop him.

I voted for JJ Foxboro, because he's the QB I want. That said, I can shake the long-held belief that Joe Alt is as safe and clean a prospect as their is in this class, and he and plays a position of need. We could look back at this class in ten years and view him as the best player to come out of it. so, if one believes that offenses should be built inside out - why didn't you choose Alt? It all comes down to their convictions with the QB's. It's the most important position in pro sports, and if you need one, you don't pass up the opportunity to draft a talented young one, with potential.

I like Joe Alt a lot. If I had to pick someone at #3, it would be Alt. He would have the greatest day 1 impact. He reminds me of a bigger, better Matt Light.
However, I don't think he's a generational talent. Partially due to his size, he lacks lateral quickness and could have trouble with quick linemen.

Playing against Players at a Younger age. www.footballdb.com/players/jayden-daniels-danie01311) Daniels will be drafted just 3 months older than Burrow when Burrow was drafted. How is his age such a big deal? 2) If you were paying attention to college QBs during the 2022-23 season, you would know that Daniels was already better than Bryce Young even early in that season. He did not close out that season with the gaudy stats, but his good QB work on the field was already obvious. The gaudy 2023-24 stats were just confirmation of his development trajectory. EDIT: Just realized I had a senior moment when I was typing the above. Bryce Young was in the NFL in 2022-23. So, I checked my exact post on the 2023 draft thread. I said I liked Daniels more than Bryce Young, who was drafted on April before the season - not that they could have been 1 and 2 overall.

The Patriots missed a golden opportunity when they didn't acquire Justin Fields. Had they have done that, drafting a quarterback wouldn't have been so pressing. They instead could have traded down, and from the bevy of draft picks that they would have received in return, could have wheeled and dealed and filled the holes they have at OT and WR...plus have set themselves up for next years draft.

Slow processing. This is why I look to the sack #'s. Yeah linemen are going to let guys go unblocked from time to time. But if you have nobody open, are you throwing it away to avoid a sack? Most sacks are on the QB and his reading. Best sack avoiders in this draft, that I know of, are: Bo Nix (1 for 94) Michael Penix (1 for 51) Joe Milton (1 for 22) These guys have also been in college over 5 years! These guys are also the only ones with 10 inch hands! The 1st 2 are crappy weather QB's. what were the sack numbers for Williams, Daniel, Maye, and McCarthy? Just found out Jordan Travis was 1 for 23 in sacks. 20TD 2 INT??!!! 64% completions? Maybe we CAN trade back! So he is a good decision maker. That is better than Mahomes numbers last year and in college. Mahomes was 1 for 22 his last season in college and 1 for 22 last season. QB's pretty much stay the same guy they are from an efficiency standpoint I think.

In my opinion a guy like Jordan Travis or Spencer Rattler will likely end up bing the best QB in this class. It doesn’t mean they are the most talented or athletic QB but as you stated they’ll end up being efficient which wins games. In the end no one cares if or when you were drafted if you can win in the NFL. If you don’t win, well that’s a different story.

I think Jordan Travis, low key, is better than Caleb Williams! Same height. Much higher efficiency! youtu.be/wgoGda2TrtA?si=tLyHZgwrszt6uqt9I love Penix talent, but I would trade back for the right offer and take Jordan Travis or Joe Milton if not both!

That would give us 5 picks in first 3 Rounds to pick up some OL and WRs; and taking JJM at #6
