It’s only malpractice if he can’t play. If he’s a perennial all pro level player nobody will care where he was drafted. It's not just about how good a prospect is, or if you want him or not. It's about knowing the board and what other teams around the league value and the knowledge that the top 3 picks are guaranteed to be QB. If ARZ trades out of 4, that means someone moved up for McCarthy, another QB. If AZ stays at 4, then the pick is MHJ, who has been the heavy favorite there for the entire process. The EARLIEST Alt could go is pick 5, but after the Chargers traded Keenan Allen and released Mike Williams, they will be looking for WR help most likely. Which means Malik Nabers. That's why I suggested number 6, because the Giants will be interested in the QBs and you can get Alt WHILE picking up extremely valuable draft picks. Its GMing 101. That's why I said it was malpractice. If you just stick and pick Alt at 3, then you wasted an opportunity to maximize the value there. Yeah, I get that he might not go until 5 or 6 but so what? If he’s the top guy on your board you take him. If you don’t like him that much then trade down. I don’t see the Giants trading up, if anything they would trade down. They don’t have the luxury of developing a project QB. They (meaning Daboll and Schoen) need to win now to save their jobs. They need players who can play now. Also, I’m tuned into the same wavelength as Jim Harbaugh and he likes the big uglies as much as anyone. I think they take Alt. Not some fast guy.

Also, I’m tuned into the same wavelength as Jim Harbaugh and he likes the big uglies as much as anyone. I think they take Alt. Not some fast guy. Let me give you another example: in 2017, the Celtics won the lottery and got the number 1 overall pick. The top consensus guy that year was Markelle Fultz, but Danny Ainge preferred Jayson Tatum as his guy. Since he knew that the first 2 picks were gonna be Fultz and the Lonzo Ball to the Lakers, he knew he could trade down from 1 to 3, get another 1st round pick and STILL get his guy in Tatum. He was able to do this because he had good intel on what the other top 2 teams were targeting. This is what I'm talking about. Alt is a little trickier because of the Chargers at 5, but its still the same idea. It just depends on what intel Wolf has on the Chargers and what Harbaugh wants to do. That night, Ainge told reporters that the Celtics would've taken Tatum at number 1 overall if they didn't make the trade. But Ainge wanted to maximize the asset.

Wolf seems pretty happy with BBs guys. Who knew? What is Wolf going to say, that those players are trash? Why would an ‘GM’ ever trash his own players?

I don’t get it. But whatever. Maybe NE should have hired a HC who knows how to communicate like an adult. Yep, because Bill Belichick always communicated to the press like an ‘adult’ 🤦

I know what a smokescreen is in the context of the draft, but what is NE trying to accomplish with it? They have the #3 pick, and can take whichever available QB they prefer at #3. Who are they trying to deceive? How does saying they're open to trading the pick present a smokescreen? but are they really open to trading out or is that a smokescreen? I think they are willing to trade out but you would have to knock their socks off with an offer. I don't think that's going to happen with draft picks being so valued.

The more I start to see/read leading up to the final week before the draft, the more I believe Drake Maye goes to Washington. Now I’m starting to read about Jayden Daniels faults…his ok arm, his amazing targets he’s throwing to, his offensive line, and the five years it took for him to develop into the 190 pound QB that he is. I think he’ll be there at 3 for the taking, and I’m not sure I’d want that.

I have been a Maye guy all along but I am beginning to think all these guys are not worth the spot they will be picked at. This may be a QB bust draft.

So tough to know , especially with quarterbacks. Safest picks are probably guys like MHJ and Alt but I'm still hoping they go qb at 3.

We have very little choice but to take a shot and hope the kid is special. Our D is pretty good, we could be a good team in 2 or 3 years with a top 10 QB.
