Their grade: R3 (68) NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS: T CAEDAN WALLACE, PENN STATE Pick Grade: Below Average The Patriots select a player who ranked 142nd on the PFF big board and 186th on the consensus big board. He may be coming off a season that saw him earn a career-high 68.8 PFF grade, but he was solid in pass protection last year, earning a 72.8 pass-blocking grade and allowing just 13 total pressures from 359 pass-blocking snaps. Who the heck is Jack Sawyer? Never mind. Bottom line is they drafted a 3rd/4th round receiver at 37 and a 5th/6th round guard at the top of the third. And to top it off they have an abundance of guys on the roster just like these two guys while they passed on several actual bona fide tackles and hood ornaments who can actually run.

Our offense is slow and can’t block anyone. But, on the bright side we are the wokest team in the league. So, there’s that. Don’t forget the right side of the LOS is stacked!

Again, it tells me the Collaboration must think that Chubaka is the answer at LT.
Their plan/vision may have us all punked when these guys take the field but from where I sit, it seems like we potentially got a QB with the third pick and that's it.
The rest is underwhelming and looks like a blown opportunity to get some real players of need.

The rest is underwhelming and looks like a blown opportunity to get some real players of need. They overdrafted Polk because our new WR's coach worked with him at Washington before getting hired. Terrible... and if Juju is healthy this kid is not going to take his job, or Bourne's, or Osborn's... Polk is a similar player with less professional experience. Hell I'm not sure if Kayshon Boutte gets his head screwed on right he's not better than Polk. When spending two draft picks after taking their QB at 1, Calvin Anderson coming off a mystery illness still looks like the best available option at left tackle and the WR's you already had look to be starters... that's a bad sign. If Drake Maye becomes a stud most will call this draft a great one... I'll still call it a missed opportunity. Maye was a layup at #3 and the result of a terrible season last year... the collaboration station is getting their asses handed to them the rest of this draft and missing a lot of great opportunities to actually improve the team.

I will reserve judgment until I see them play, but we also need to be honest with ourselves. Long before any of the current staff was here, we were reaching for players in the draft. This isn't a new thing. Any of these 2nd round picks sound familiar to you? Joejuan Williams, Duke Dawson, Cyrus Jones, Jordan Richards, Aaron Dobson, Tavon Wilson, Ras-I Dowling, Ron Brace, Terrence Wheatley, and we could go on…
I'm pretty skeptical of the new regime, but in terms of reaching for players they have a lot of reaching still to do before they can even move into the same zip code of the old regime.

Honestly, I can’t think of a better description of this draft than amateur hour. Wolf was supposed to be ready for this, waited his whole life for this after watching dad and guys like Ted Thompson do it for decades. This was his time to shine with high picks in every round.
And what do we have? Well, he better hope Maye is the real deal so that nobody really cares about everything that came later when they think about this godawful draft.

It's been over two decades since we've had picks this high in the draft. There should be no "reaches" until the later rounds.

I love Maye, but that was an easy pick. I like Polk okay, but there were better players on the board. The OT looks like a huge reach

I also don't get those 2 picks. You either draft a position of need (and most probably reach in the process) OR you draft the best player available. No rocket science here. So at #37 they should have picked either an OT (Patrick Paul, Blake Fisher, Kingsley Suamataia) based on need (OT being more important than WR) or the best player available: for instance Kool-Aid McKinstry (projected as a 1rst round talent). I can't believe that they collaboratively agreed on such dumb moves.

Polk imo is going to get a lot of snaps. Baker may as well. say good bye to JuJu and more than likely Thornton. I would think Strange has to be on the fence. Zippy obviously is gone.

I would have to think we have seen the last of Lowe and Wheatley. BB's guys all falling by the wayside. in with the new.. all the BB guys you are referring to are one or both of: end of the roster guys or guys brought in in the last year or 2... when the supposed collaboration was going on... so who knows how much they really are BB guys...but only bring up those types, not the BB guys that received big second deals here and others brought back this FA period. i know you know that but you have an agenda to push, so we get it lol.
