Jessica Morrey @jessicamorrey 19 hHá 19 horas OL Spencer Drango says the Texans, Patriots and Seahawks have made visits to #Baylor to watch him workout Coming home from work at night, he was on Radio. According to analyst, his man had 1 QB TOUCH all last year. Nice kid! Drango has got a lil beef to him and four years of experience. Pats like when the trench guys have lots or multiple years of experience.

Christian Westerman quickly comes to mind. You could also make an argument for multiple CB's (#3/Nickel) and DT's (join the rotation) seeing the field early, whether it be situationally, or part of the regular rotation. I also think a few backs could potentially beat out Blount for the early down job. It's a good discussion and especially because of your first choice. I agree it is possible a guard has the potential in that spot depending on how the board falls but just how much of an upgrade would it be and do you really want to do that if it is not significant when you have 4 young, and under friendly deals, players already on the interior? I certainly think CB is a spot. I'm not sure about RB or not. I think Blount is better than people give him credit for. He is OK. The Pats backs have been getting hit or having to make people miss in the backfield a lot in recent years. It isn't the college game with gaping holes most of these guys run through on film. If Williams foot is OK and they can land him he might. There are very few backs who have that close to 220+ size and quick feet, good balance to fill that specific Blount role. Just how much do you think of Howard and Booker? I must be missing something or need to rewatch some more clips. I find them to just be ok. Speaking of not understanding. What other players have you watched that are relatively well received that you don't really get the love for? Personally, I think Westerman is a bit of a stud (also a perfect scheme fit), and a kid that could quickly become your best, most consistent interior OL. Both Jackson and Mason are under contract for (3) more years, but Cooper is only under contract for this season... Kline is on the books through 2017. None of them are certain starters at this point, IMO. Cooper is the most talented, and look fantastic coming out of UNC... but he has a lot to prove. Blount could very well hold onto that role for another season, but I think there are kids like Dixon or Howard or Booker or Williams or Prosise, etc., that could give him a run for his money. Howard's tape vs. Michigan (the #16 rush defense in the country) was pretty damn good, IMO... check it out below. draftbreakdown.com/video/jordan-howard-vs-michigan-2015/Clemson S TJ Green is a kid that's getting some Rd 2 love, but seems like more of a measurables/athlete type than good football player at this point. Also, per PFF, his coverage grade (-10.8) is ranked last in this safety class... which isn't good, considering the talent that he's surrounded with, both in the secondary and along the LOS. He also missed a good amount of tackles in 2015 (17). I'm not saying don't draft him, but just not in Rd 2. I'd rather have Justin Simmons, all day... everyday.

Thought I'd just post one final mock for fun before the draft gets here. Reading up on all the diffrent players coming out, I feel more lost now with what BB will do. Add in all the draft picks, I'm sure there will be plenty of moving around the draft board.
Trades: 3rd round traded for a 4th and 5th round pick. 2016 6th round for a 2017 5th round pick. 2016 6th round for a 2016 7th round and 2017 6th round
2-OT Germain Ifedi
2-DT Willie Henry
3-LB Jaylon Smith
4-G Joe Dahl
5-TE Stephen Anderson
6-QB/WR Keenan Reynolds
6-WR Daniel Braverman
6-RB Peyton Barber
7-WR Devon Cajuste
7-QB Jake Ruddock
7-FB Chris Swain
Hope you all enjoy the draft this weekend!

Mik Loyko Mock draft What would they be giving up to move up for Bullard? I'd take Williams and Murphy. Kwiatkoski is an underrated kid that I'm high on, love Payton in the 5th. If they class ends up like this, I'll be pretty stoked.

I would counter his with something like #60 Kenny Clark (DT) #61 Sean Davis #96 Jonathan Williams (RB) 4th Kyle Murphy (OT) 5th Devin Lucien or Mike Thomas (WR's) 5th Nick Vigil (LB) #208 Matt Ionnidis (DT) #214 Stephen Anderson or Dan Vitale (TE/H-back/FB's) #221 Kalan Reed (CB) #243 Some (QB) #250 Dwayne Washington (RB)

Loyko doesn´t say. He has another tweet about how NE is high on Kwiatkoski and Vigil. To me, this is just another opinion. I don´t know how many times I have heard NE linked to someone and of course they never pick them. Kwiatkoski would be a good pick. He has Davis as CB, but I think he would replace Harmon next year. Lee would be on the 53 for ST. Zettel is not a bad pick. I wonder if he or Bullard could kick out to the edge? Interesting group.

From Matt Miller:
New England Patriots: The Patriots are a hard team to get solid info on, but one scout said strong safety could be targeted with one of their two Round 2 selections. Scouts familiar with New England's draft plans said the team will target a stand-up pass-rusher to replace Chandler Jones with one of the Day 2 picks.

I submit all decent pass rushers will be gone by 60,61. Unless you want an OLB like Jenkins or Perry. Not sure they rush well. You may wish to consider anyone familiar with the Pats' draft plans may be 'peddling fiction'. The interesting dynamic is how many 'quality' players are obtainable thru the third round. Not only will BB trade a 3rd for a 4th and 5th, I think he'll trade a 2nd for 3rd and 4th unless a high ranking RB or WR falls to him.

I recommend Fanspeak's On The Clock Mock Draft Simulator. It really shows the challenge of the draft with variables.

Not Bad. Plenty of DTs at 91, 96, though. Gotta take Davis at 60, 61. He'll be gone by end of third. Murphy in the 4th is nice if Seattle doesn't scoop him. May have to move up slightly.

Hope no TE is selected especially late..... Already 5 or 6 signed... 2 OT's would be smart.... Replacing you know who and Volmer is getting older ... DB to challenge Ryan for No 2 DB

Report: Scouts see safety, pass-rusher as early Patriots targets
Oliver Thomas - 4 hours ago 0
New England Newsletter
With back-to-back picks in the second round and four inside the first 100, the New England Patriots stand in position to go against the grain.
That has been the trend since Bill Belichick’s arrival in 2000, often zigging while other teams zag to test the market’s inefficiencies in attempt to “be a little bit of an outlier.” But because of that history, it is especially difficult to project which areas of the roster New England’s war room will aim to address at No. 60, No. 61, No. 91 and No. 96 overall.
Running back, wide receiver, offensive tackle, defensive tackle and cornerback are considered the five most pertinent needs. However, the Patriots seldom check off the boxes in such a manner. And as Bleacher Report’s Matt Miller gathered from discussions with NFL scouts, it’s possible the Patriots could be looking elsewhere early on.
“The Patriots are a hard team to get solid info on, but one scout said strong safety could be targeted with one of their two Round 2 selections,” Miller shared. “Scouts familiar with New England's draft plans said the team will target a stand-up pass-rusher to replace Chandler Jones with one of the Day 2 picks.”
Despite heading into the draft without the benefit of a first-round selection, New England checks in with 11 from second round through the seventh. And while none are scheduled for the fourth and fifth rounds, there is some flexibility to the point where the top player listed on the board does not have to be attached to the top need listed on the roster.
Which brings us to strong safeties and edge-rushers.
New England carries Devin McCourty, Patrick Chung, Jordan Richards, Duron Harmon, Brock Vereen, Cedric Thompson, and special-teams aces Nate Ebner and Brandon King on the safety depth chart for next season. And of that group, McCourty, Chung, Richards and Ebner are under contract beyond 2016.
But while a full cupboard, it is a position the Patriots have continued to restock via the draft. That was illustrated again last April when Richards arrived as a second-round pick out of Stanford and joined the likes of Harmon, Ebner, Tavon Wilson, Chung and McCourty who were drafted by the organization before him.
New England’s incorporation of more than two safeties on the defensive side of the ball is worth noting as well. Last season, three logged north of 600 snaps and Richards logged over 200 as a rookie. Sometimes, there were three or four on the field for a single snap.
Each team's 'perfect' 2016 NFL draft pick
As for the depth chart at defensive end, now short a 2015 Pro Bowler in Jones, it is a spot where the Patriots may be in flux. Just what type of pass-rusher New England is looking for – whether it be a seven-technique in a 4-3 or an outside linebacker in a 3-4 – is something that could be changing.
Last offseason’s free-agent addition of Jabaal Sheard, who played both positions through the Cleveland Browns’ coaching and scheme shifts, lessens the loss of Jones. Sheard was credited with a career-best five quarterback hits and 51 hurries for the top pass-rushing productivity grade among 4-3 ends last campaign, according to Pro Football Focus, and he notched the fifth-highest run-stopping grade at the position as well.
But Sheard is scheduled to become a free agent once again after 2016, as is Rob Ninkovich on the strong side.
The long-term future off the edge was something the Patriots had in mind when Geneo Grissom and Trey Flowers arrived in the third and fourth rounds last year, however. And whether that’s with a four- or three-man front as the base blueprint, New England could soon be looking to add more hybrid depth to the rotation alongside them.
Perhaps it isn’t a day-two need on the surface. But much like strong safeties who can cover, there is more of a demand for pass-rushers than there is a supply.
They go early.

DE makes sense just the way DT makes sense. All DL starters less brown are FA next year. This assumes of course that our starting line up is nink, brown, branch/pot roast , and sheard. Pats have some holes to fill in that group and not much is known of flowers, Grissom and Johnson. Quality DEs in this draft with starting capability run out in round 2/3. I don't see anyone in the draft we could take in the later rounds that has starter capability say over the 2nd year guys mentioned above. Anyone confirm? Meanwhile DT is deep in this draft. Therefore, I could see the pats grabbing a de with a move up into the early second and waiting until mid rounds to grab a DT. Again, I have no idea of what they think of flowers or Grissom and how they compare against potential targets like Kafusi. My last mock had us taking a DT and OT first 2 picks. I think I am warming up to more of a de and OT selection with DT taken later as it is deeper.

LOUISIANA TECH Some trades and movement, as you go through the boards there is solid talent 2nd-4th rd. Those first two picks fit typical Pats molds but I gotta be honest I don't love either player. I could see the picks happening though. Jones is one of those handful of players I want to go re-watch clips on because he falls into that I don't get why everyone loves him. With Perry I don't know if it is because he is so big or what but he looks awkward to me. Especially for his athletic combine measurables. I'll have to re-watch him again as well.
