I'm a little late to the party in the Penix discussion but i would be interested in the Penix proponents proselytizing on the below listed 'weaknesses' copied from his NFL Prospect Profile: Weaknesses Suffered multiple season-ending injuries during his time at Indiana, including tearing his right ACL twice. Posted 20 TDs and 9 INTs over his final 11 games of the 2023 season. Forces receivers to break stride on a variety of throws. (I did not see this as a problem) Throws with wide-open front side when feet fail to follow his eyes. (Obviously not a problem, He carried thecteam on his arm, everyone knows this.) Heavily reliant upon receiving talent winning jump balls. ( He put the ball in there hands in stride, no jumping or battling for the ball observed in any highlights) Production/consistency plummet when forced to throw outside the pocket. ( Not much evidence of this on video) youtu.be/Qo9o0u_Q9k4?si=r4oskbcyYusyo17yJudge for yourself The Indiana portion shows you how good he is with bad protection In the few games I saw Penix play I didn't see this either. It doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Will say that this is also the time where scouts feed the media with false reports hoping the player falls in the draft. It seems to happen every year. This is suppose to be the richest QB draft in quite a while yet look at all the negative press on these guys. None of them are any good. They all have major questions in their ability to make it in the NFL.

They're reports by Lance Zierlein. This doesn't increase/decrease their validity, they're just one man's opinion. He also adds comments by league personnel types, where applicable.

Thanks for posting that ATJ - always wondered who he was. Sounds sort of like an Ernie Adams type with a more outward personality.
And I do appreciate write ups and like that they are 'one man's opinion' - the issues I have with PFF are somewhat related to the fact that they are pretending to be scientific while being based on the opinions of a lot of different eyes evaluating 'every player' on 'every down' and guessing as to their primary and secondary responsibilities in the two teams actual plays on every down.

I'm familiar with him, but thanks for sharing. When it comes to draft analysts, I like Daniel Jeremiah and Dane Brugler the best. A few years back, I had some dialogue with former Bears College Scouting Director Greg Gabriel (he even sent me some scouting materials! Good dude!), and I believe I remember him saying something to the effect of those two dudes are the best in the business, and that kind of stuck with me. It makes sense given that Jeremiah is a former scout, and one of the lead dudes on the NFL network, and Brugler runs the scouting/draft operation for The Athletic, putting together "The Beast", which is the biggest, most in-depth online draft guide you'll ever see.

Really like this guy. Doesn't seem to be highly rated either.

I’m cool with Penix at 34 with a can’t miss like Alt or WR at 3. Penix at 34 is an entirely different conversation than Penix at 3, or even Penix in the Top 15. Isn't that a more realistic conversation? In my mind, “sources” (likely other teams) are generating the buzz for Penix so one of the other top rated QBs fall to them. Giants, Titans, Falcons, and even the Jets could potentially benefit from one slipping down a little on the board. . To me Penix is a good but not great QB and will likely be that at the next level too. Thats perfectly fine if you set the roster up on front of him. Penix at #3! That’s foolishness.
