At some point, we just have to trust that the staff can fix whatever needs fixing in whoever they pick. You're right. I have reached that point. It's my best alternative. He has real flaws, but those flaws are very fixable, especially if he sits a year. Footwork is something that can be fixed. Decision-making is something that can be fixed (I don't even think its that big of a problem, its just some throws here and there that are baffling). What you can't teach is talent, and he has all of it. If you believe in your coaching staff to fix this stuff, and I believe Van Pelt can, we could be talking about a top 5 QB here in a couple of years. His ceiling is that high. At 3, I believe they should go for the home run. Even if that means they're just as likely to strikeout, I would rather take that chance than just settling for an double to right field, which I think is what JJM and Penix represent. Nothing truly game-changing. Maye could be game-changing. To compete against Mahomes and Burrow and Allen, you need that kind of QB.

UNC was bad vs VA - the worst scoring D in the ACC - and they lost. With two games to go in the last season, they still had a chance to play in the ACC championship. Those two meaningful games were his worst. If you watch those three games, in full, you will see that footwork is not the reason for him not playing well in those games. BTW, people have said that Maye does not have weapons. Nobody mentions that all four of UNC's losses happened after Walker came back from his suspension.

An offensive tackle moving up the board for me is Frank Crum from Wyoming.
He’s big, tall, long, strong and athletic… entirely underrated and can be found later in the draft.

Walker fumbled in the end after a beautiful deep throw by maye against GT. They should have beaten virginia. Too many chances.

My favorites (recent) draft simulation so far with no trades involved... Still not on board for WR before LT...and in this one it is WR and DT before LT...not smart I don't think.
