This game is huge. Just noticed... Lol.
Seriously, hope nobody makes footsy comments to the media , or spy videos on the sidelines, or former coaches stealing players or game plans. Nothing crazy ... Just win the game with great effort on both sides of the ball.
Then there's the division, the jets were supposed to suck, etc. Etc. Interesting game. Hopefully Belichick can add a little history lesson to keep the guys focused....

the jets were supposed to suck No idea where people (not you in particular) are geting the idea the Jets are any better than initially predicted. 2 wins vs teams that will fight for the top picks + a FG vs a 2 faced Jags team that can go from SB candidates to worst in the league any given week so far, i dont think they showed to be any better or worse than expected that said, division games always tough ones and, given the current standings, this can either be a great W for the pats or a big disaster, but expecting nothing but a close game here.

No idea where people (not you in particular) are geting the idea the Jets are any better than initially predicted. Well,I for one, didn't expect the Jets to win 3 games this season. They've done that already with 11 games left. They're also tied for 1st place in the AFC East going into week 6,with the same record as the Patriots and Bills.I think not a lot of people wouldn't have guessed that at the beginning of the season either. IMHO,the Jets are much better than most of us had given them credit for.I expect the Patriots to win this week, but it'll be a battle, not a cakewalk.

They appeared completely inept with a Mcclown QB, and listless on defense. Then funny thing happened. They won a game and they bought into whatever their coach was selling. At this point their season can go either way. Hoping their bubble bursts on Sunday and it isn't close..

I think this is actually good for our future, both the Jets and Bills are winning enough that there's a real chance they won't be picking high enough to get themselves a franchise quarterback...yet we all know neither is good enough to do any real damage to anyone this season. It's these types of seasons that put your team around 8-8/9-7, and keep your franchise in the doldrums. Isn't this the year a couple top QB's are coming out of the draft? Well both teams just blew their chance.
I bet we beat the Jets tomorrow, and I bet we beat Buffalo later down the road.
As for us? I don't know what the hell we are but we're better than them - let's say we don't win the SB - as sad as that would be we'd at least end up selects in the low 20's for a change...get some talent without having to pay top ten salary, plus we already have the QB. Too early for draft talk, I know, but it's hard not to notice that the Jets and Bills are screwing themselves (certainly debatable anyway).

Agreed. If they played our schedule they'd be 1-4 at best. Easy schedule for them thus far

The Jets were suppose to be the dog meat for the league to feast on, not the other way around. With the Pats struggles of late this makes of a worrisome game.

Just goes to show how prognostications aren't too accurate. Besides, division games brings out the best in the Patriots' opponent, doesn't it?

Records are meaningless when it comes to division games.

I agree this not only must win but I'd like to see the team make a statement in this game. Really put the Jets to the sword as they should. No let up and hammer them get some confidence for the better teams in coming weeks.

Many predicted Jets at 0-16 Many predicted they were tanking for #1
They have a legit front 7 Their safeties are good and young McGowan is completing highest % in the NFL So his receivers are catching the ball
The Pats have the worst Defense in the NFL With 5yrds per rush allowed
Division games are tough
WE ARE favored but this is no gimme So *far*this looks like the worst Pats team in 15 years

No let up and hammer them get some confidence for the better teams in coming weeks. Its not happening-because the defense is so porous its going to be a dogfight. If we win it is going to be by less than a touchdown. I think its 60-40 that we win this game, and the nine point Vegas spread is absurd.

FUN FACT :
If you check Josh McCown's passing record prior to the New York Jets' showdown with the New England Patriots on Sunday, it shows the veteran quarterback last threw a football against a Bill Belichick-coach D in 2004 while with the Arizona Cardinals.
McCown, however, has faced Belichick more recently. The 38-year-old played receiver against the Patriots as a member of the Detroit Lions in 2006.
Jon Kitna was the starting quarterback. He threw an interception that was the receivers fault.Offensive coordinator Mike Martz told McCown: 'Get your gloves.' He benched the receiver, and Josh McCown played out of the slot in the entire second half.He had a couple catches (One for 7 yards and one for 8) and a third was nullified by a pass interference call that he still disputes

My hunch is that the Pats secondary will continue to improve. They will stop messing up assignments and playing out of position.
Too bad that Gilmore is out. He will benefit from more work in this defense.

It seems to me that every game this year is must win. Can't take anything for granted. Even when playing the Jets. Makes it a more exciting season when you're not so sure of the outcome.

THey have beaten teams few thought they would or could. Regardless of how bad those teams are. Simple....

Stop the running game, good Pass Rush, No turnovers, Pats win 37-17. That's my prediction and I'm sticking to it.

Ahhh, the good old days! Yup. I remember all too well. Back when the Pats were a lot like the Jets... or even the Browns. Fans who have only know the Brady era are in for a rude awakening in the future. LOL

THey have beaten teams few thought they would or could. Regardless of how bad those teams are. Simple.... if you're one of those guys that trully believed that the jets would go 0 - 16 and the pats 16 - 0, then yeah, they have been better than that. but in the real NFL such predictions seldom happen. Start of the season I would've put the Jets somewhere between 3 and 6 wins, give or take. So far I haven't seen any evidence that they are any better than that, and I'm talking about watching them play. Not looking at any stats. None of those 3 wins was particularly impressive. Now, ofc wins is what matters, and once you find yourself on the right side of a 3 win streak, anything can happen. Nothing more dangerous than a team that was considered to be an underdog by pretty much everyone, suddently getting hot and confident. Once players feel confident and there's no real pressure to do better, that's usually when they break free and play at their best. We shall see which way the Jets will go.
