rather than face a four game suspension for something he feels he didn't do. Would that be a statement or look like he's" taking his ball and going home" If I can't have my way I don't want to play. Granted there 's another Super Bowl win potential, which would make him the greatest of all time (I believe he already is) I know he's probably going to fight it , but do you think he would consider retiring?

I dont think he does. not even a thought. I also think someone like Well Mara steps in and settles this once and for all with some sort of truce. If he does miss time, he needs to come back with a vegenence and ht the ground running hard. show no mercy and win out every game to the SB

Not a chance. His motivation for another ring is going to be stratospheric. Look at it another way. He is going to play 25% fewer games this regular season, which means we are going to have a healthier, fresher, hugely motivated, angry GOAT QB leading the team down the stretch.

If that thought crossed his mind I'm sure it was fleeting. What else is he gonna do. He wants to play as long as he is physically able. This just adds another chip on his shoulder.

Not a chance. If they can survive these 4 games with Jimmy G at QB, they are going to win the SB. I think before Brady retires he will one more Super Bowl.. My sports dream is to have That weasel Goodell hand Brady the Lombardi trophy one more time. Then hang up the cleats. Then sue the NFL when he retires.

Brady has always been an honest true to his word type of guy. He has consistently said he loves the game, he loves being and preparing with his teammates and in his own he wants to play until he sucks. So based on that I would say at a minimum he will play out this contract health willing. This episode has most likely jaded him about the business side of the sport but regardless of wether he serves a suspension or doesn't I don't think it will change his love of playing the game.

If he runs out Week 5 after a suspension, I won't be watching and he will be promoting an organization that unfairly tainted his unblemished legacy. I would retire if I were him and then start an $800 million defamation suit against Kensil, Goodell, Wells and the NFL. I would reject the Hall of Fame honors and any association with the NFL for eternity, this last stand may ironically fortify his legacy much like the 1972 US Olympic Basketball Team or that structure in Pisa that was ridiculed 500 years ago for not being properly constructed to stand straight.

You are crazy - let it go already. Take a plea deal if one comes about or relax for 4 weeks. Move on with your life Tom. No one is going to change their mind on this issue on both sides of the issue. Turn a negative into a positive. That is what successful people do.

I doubt it. He wants to play too badly. I think he just preps like mad and comes back with a vengeance in game five.

Just today, 2 GMs came out and said they did at first but no longer feel he's guilty. Nope! fight Tom, fight That's what winners do. That's what Brady does and we're all the benefactors of it.

Pezz - I agree. Fight it all the way but what happens if the appeal won't be heard. Then he should take a deal and get on the field as soon as he can. Then kick ass we all know he will go.

Not going to retire. Why would a guy who says he wants to play ten more years retire because he's out four games?
I never thought for a second he wasn't absolutely serious about those ten years. Nothing has changed since then, it wasn't all that long ago...
Realistically, though, he's out those four games. There are no viable appeals and nobody is going to ride to his rescue. If anything, Hitler will increase the punishment. He can, you know. There's nothing stopping him and it wouldn't surprise me one bit.

imo, brady won't appeal the appellate court and their decision to uphold goodell's original decision. Will he retire because he's pouting about the appellate court decision? I doubt it.

After 44 years as a Pats fan, 28 of them waiting for someone like Brady with "more likely than not" mediocre teams, I am not willing to accept the injustice and sliming on his legacy by the NFL office trying to take away everything we enjoyed, everything he is proud of, running him through town with a Scarlet Letter as Colonel Pyncheon of Park Avenue laughs at the millions he's pulling in. I think I will choose to spend Sundays with my kids and not wasting time or money on their garbage, any more. I need to protect the "integrity" of my image to the only person who matters to me, ME. I have plenty of friends that moved abroad years ago and gave up following football and have pretty fulfilling lives, that is what successful people do, actually, not waste time on activities that show them no respect back.

So why post about it? Move on. My life is not impacted by Tom Brady or anyone else that plays a game or makes a movie for a living. I live for my family - I provide for my family. Sports is a fun hobby that get a tad crazy at time like with this BS about effing balls. I follow it - post about about but am not going to march about it, stop watch games or call congress and bitch.

Well if he fights and loses then so be it, he's lost before, but there's also the defamation suit that many think he should pursue. It's about honor and his honor has been unjustly damaged. Maybe you missed the CHEATER chants at the MVP ceremony. They made me sick to my stomach and I can't imagine how he felt. I think it's far from over nor should it be until he comes out a Victor instead of a victim.

I think Brady would rather serve the four game suspension than accept any deal where he admits guilt. He's not retiring. He's not a bitch.

I would feel let down if he retired, but that will never happen now
I do think he owes himself the duty to file a defamation suit, even McCann said it. Doesn't matter if he wins, but if he does sue, he should say he is giving the net proceeds to down and out players. This would make it bigger than himself and get the players behind him. Imagine if he could ever get the NFL unde oath?
What would happen if the truth came out that the owners just wanted to get the Pats for Spygate, which Tom had nothing to do with? How do you think a jury would like that? And in Mass no less
The Hulk Hogan trial should show that a celebrity can sue. TB can start out with the loss of salary, but then get punitive dollars. The question would be could the NFL pay for silence? And how long it would take? I would love to see the NFL on its knees begging for mercy!!!

Just a bit of info for anyone holding out hope that some owners want Goodell to back off or offer TB some kind of deal -John Mara and judge Chin went to law school together many years ago and are known to be friends. So whoever suggested that Mara will broker a deal, Mara was one of the owners leading the charge to hammer TB Jraft and the Pats. Given the league's total lack of integrity, there is every reason to believe that they knew the outcome long before it was announced. Remember that there were serious negotiations about a month ago to reduce the Commissioner's role in player discipline. Then all of a sudden that was completely off the table. Don't be surprised if the 4 games gets increased rather than decreased. At best, he sits 4 games.

And believe it or not, THAT could be a key consideration in an en banc approval.
In fact, this is a HUGE revelation by you. Thanks for this startling revelation!
