Lol that’s rich a player deciding which teams he would only play for. Get real. I think maye could surpass him in the QB rankings.

the QB market with MAYBE the exception of Williams will be a maybe he will or maybe he won't. you still do not know what you have in Mac with a competent team around him. pls Boutte, Thornton and Douglas ahead of Parker and JuJu (and Bourne). go draft a WR and OL (2) early and sign a stud free agent, and tender Mac his last year. he will have 2 years with BOB and next season competency around him. next year, make or break. but get him some competency to work with

Both leveraged moves to preferred regions and/or franchises, and Caleb Williams can use his own leverage to possibly land in one of his.

I wish they had gotten downs last draft as he is exactly who I hoped he would be in the slot and the pats are missing that dynamic.

Why would they need to spend #76 on downs who went #79 when they got pretty much the same guy at #210 in Douglas. ON a production per snap basis, Douglas has been better, and I'm sure you must think he also has the better QB to boot considering how you feel about Mac.

You can never have enough guys who can get open anytime and can draw 2 people on the defense’s attention. I was suggesting at the time that they draft 2 wr for this reason and get 2 te. My list of wr I listed was jaxon if they traded back a few times only if my ot binkie and cb binkie and second choice were gone and one of the top dt didn’t fall. They got my second choice of db, as I had Witherspoon higher than gonzo but worried about Devon long term if he didn’t add some extra muscle and mass while main thing his flexibility and speed. Downs was next on my list, then Tyler Scott, then tank dell. I missed the boat on Douglas perhaps because of his size, perhaps because I was looking at project te, cb, ot, and others who could play special teams but have potential to one day start or at least be a competent backup in later rounds. Most of the te i would have loved to see on the pats have done well too. The one who was a later round project was Kuntz who has athleticism and strength was drafted in round 7, and was cut and is on the jets practice squad. I’d love for the pats to steal him from the jets and see if he can be coached up to contribute for the pats and mess with the jets again. At 6’7” or 6’8” he would provide a large target for the endzone.

I agree completely. But I think they’d do better with 2 of that type of receiver to draw back blitzing lb and s/cb by forcing them to cover or double team. A few big plays when the defense blitzes would pull back those defenders to cover more often and help give our limp armed qb a bit more time before he makes the next mistake or badly thrown ball that others will get the blame for.

You blathering on about a bunch of other additional stuff because what I said made sense, is irrelevant.

I noticed you ignored my comments and dismiss them instead of realizing what I said was before the draft that the pats could use 2 slot wr and were missing this type of player that often has been the key piece to getting the rest of the offense moving in the past. Having 2 would reduce ol and qb pressure and also reduce the wear and tear on the slot wr plus allow for the other receivers to not face double teams and have to get by 1 defender for a big play. But I’m sure you’ll ignore this too. I didn’t blather, I’m just done with the irrational thought that mac as he is right now is a nfl caliber qb, much less a starter that can lead a team to be anything other than mediocre. Mediocre mac, brought to you by Kraft!

Mac enters the conversation because even if your wr are jerry rice, randy moss, megatron and edelman with gronk at te and tomlinson at rb, it doesn’t matter who is on the receiving side if your qb can’t consistently get them the ball and do so while they’re in stride so they can try to gain additional yardage. The qb is the most important part of the offense. You can’t overcome a crap qb even if your team is littered with great players. Look at tampa with Winston. They had 5127 passing yards, 33 passing td 1521 rushing yards and 15 rushing td and yet they only won 7 games and missed the playoffs because the qb was awful at protecting the ball with 30 int and 12 fumbles by himself in 16 games! Removing his poor qb play with someone who wasn’t turning the ball over the next year led them to win the superbowl. Brady had 12 int and 4 fumbles all regular season and the team not surprisingly improved to 11-5 in the regular season and made the playoffs and then the Super Bowl. It’s amazing what removing 26 extra turnovers in 16 games from the high yardage and high scoring offense can do to a win/loss record. My point is this: boneheaded and poor plays by the qb can kill any teams chances. That is where we find mac and it was put into the conversation because you can’t have any conversations about the offense without factoring in the qb who is running the offense.

This is the most exciting thing in the draft for me, i wanna see the Patriots get a real good QB for their team, keep building towards depth/quality at QB, keep at it! PS - it's sad i am looking forward to next season, that says this season is a top 5 draft pick type of year?

I root for the team, not the players name on the back of the jersey and I hoped for the last several years mac could be the guy. Facts are he simply can’t be. My thoughts and ideas on what the team needed during the draft was long before seeing the non improvement and regression from mac. I also hoped Obie would help, but if the problem from all of 2022, and now 2023 wassn’t the oc that led to the qb’s awful performance, and you look back at the late rookie season struglges max had too, that leaves the qb as the biggest problem for the offense. Why make excuses for him? Don’t you root for the New England Patriots team to do well, and not Mac Jones being > than the team’s success? The people defending mac repeat the same things over and over sounding like the football equivalent of the spam calls asking to buy whatever junk they are selling and hope it’s legitimate and works the way they claim. The problem is the team bought the item because it seemed like a great deal at the time. Now when they are plugging in that item and it trips the circuit breaker constantly, we have some seeing the item for the junk it is, and some blaming the electrical outlet, some blaming the breaker, or some blaming the electricity itself for the items failure. We are past the return period and need to try other similar items on hand or stop being stubborn and continue trying to make a dud work instead of trying the alternative or planning to go out and get a good quality product.

Michael Penix Jr., Washington (6th Year | 6-3, 213) This is the most exciting thing in the draft for me, i wanna see the Patriots get a real good QB for their team, keep building towards depth/quality at QB, keep at it! PS - it's sad i am looking forward to next season, that says this season is a top 5 draft pick type of year? I don’t think sanders is a top 5 QB. Ewers is not getting hype. I like him as a QB. Above average arm strength.

Allen is a better thrower. I wonder about guys like that winning a super bowl.

Jalin Conyers, Arizona State (4th Year | 6-4, 270) Offensive Tackle1. Olu Fashanu, Penn State (4th Year | 6-6, 317) 2. Joe Alt, Notre Dame (3rd Year | 6-8, 322) 3. J.C. Latham, Alabama (3rd Year | 6-6, 359) 4. Jordan Morgan, Arizona (5th Year | 6-5, 325) 5. Taliese Fuaga, Oregon State (4th Year | 6-6, 334) Interior Offensive Line1. Cooper Beebe, Kansas State (5th Year | 6-5, 335) 2. Christian Haynes, Connecticut (6th Year | 6-2, 313) 3. Zak Zinter, Michigan (4th Year | 6-6, 322) 4. Zach Frazier, West Virginia (4th Year | 6-3, 310) 5. Jackson Powers-Johnson, Oregon (3rd Year | 6-3, 320) I don’t know much when it comes to these kids. But, I do know FSU and Johnny Wilson is most definitely not a tight end. Not at FSU and no way he’s a pro tight end. Not a good one anyway. He couldn’t block me. Good receiver but he’s had a few bad drops. Runs real well for his size. Coleman is a nice receiver. Kind of reminds me of Demaryius Thomas. Well built and fast. Returns punts, pretty well too. Especially for a guy with some size. Why isn’t Will Shipley from Clemson listed among the RBs? Guy is great at least against FSU. Kills them every year. Can catch it and run. Tough kid, maybe not the fastest but all around good back. I also know this, I don’t want any more 6’1 or shorter QBs. I don’t care how many yards he has, or how athletic he is, blah, blah, effing blah. I want a strapping 6’4 guy with big bones, a howitzer and an attitude. Athletic, sure, great, honestly I don’t really care. Can he read the defense and make the right decisions and all the throws. Not just some of the throws when he plants his feet just so but all of them regardless. I think I just described Drew Bledsoe… well you know what, a young Drew Bledsoe would look pretty good right now. Then again Drew didn’t always make the right decisions, did he? He had everything else though.
