Everytime the Steelers lose to the Pats Tomlin has an excuse. Most times there is an inference that the Patriots are cheating. He sweeps the locker room for bugs and cameras and then Pad locks the door. This attitude trickles down to all the players where Now Leveon Bell says the only reason they lost to the Pats was because he was hurt. I don't really mind because this attitude is not only classless but it's self destructive. We'll be beating them again this year at least once and hopefully twice. They seem to be a very easy opponent for us so let them keep up the trash talk and crying. I know he has superbowl rings but I view him as an idiot at this point. Right up there with Harbaugh.

So, the Steelers, as well as the Jets, are awesomely storied franchises...I grew up with the Patsies being the laughing stock of the league...are we so young or so ignorant that we can not be respectful of the legacy of the greats before us? The Steel Curtain? The bravado of Broadway Joe guaranteeing a victory in the first Super Bowl?

The Steel Curtain? The bravado of Broadway Joe guaranteeing a victory in the first Super Bowl? RESPONSE: The issue isn't that the Patriots' fans don't respect what the Steelers' have accomplished over the years. It's the fact that the Steelers of the past 20 years have made excuse after excuse for continuously getting hammered by the Patriots. They have consistently whined about the Pats' somehow "cheating" them, or the referees, or blamed injuries. It's never because the Patriots' were better, outcoached them, or outplayed them. For this reason...Pats' fans have pointed out that those previously great Steeler teams of yesteryear prevailed prior to there being a hard salary cap in place, and were pioneers in the steroid era. As for the Jets...a storied franchise?? Are you serious?? The Jets have been a joke for years.

Well, unfortunately the entire nation will never give the Pats credit for their incredible accomplishments in the era of the salary cap because of a couple of mis-portrayed incidents...it truly suxxx...so far as the Jets go, I just think back to Namath guaranteeing victory in the days before the first (?) Super Bowl...classic...

Screw the Squealers. Their last two SBs were tainted, as far as I'm concerned. The refs screwed Seattle with repeated bad calls. I guess to get the Bus his going away present. And, I lost track of all the fouls they overlooked on the biggest play of the game vs AZ , the Harrison return at the end of the first half.
If you want to go back to the '70s...fine, they were great. Steroids were a non-factor, right? Sure.
Respect this (you can't see me, but I'm pointing to my pud...).

RESPONSE: I don't think that's true anymore. Anyone with half a brain now realizes that the Patriots, and Tom Brady in particular, got railroaded by the corrupt league Commissioner, his minions, and certain envious owners in the so-called "Deflategate" matter. That knowledge, along with the two SB wins in 2014 and last year, have gone a long way towards diminishing the bogus "cheating" taints/claims.
How ironic is it that Deflategate boomeranged so badly against the league that it may have actually rehabilitated the public perception of the Patriots?

I think the few knowledgeable fans out there see that, and definitely most of the national talk radio guys, but the average kook forms their opinion from day one headlines and never looks into it further...
However, the crazy win last year sort of made a lot of folks acknowledge that the Pats are the best coached and have a quarterback who is insane and never ever gives up...it would be so great to see us steamroll this year...we are fairly stacked...that would simply make everyone throw in the towel and just wait until Brady retires to watch football again...loved hearing Rome and Cowherd state that BB won the offseason before even the draft...go Pats!!!

It is true! All you hear from the talking heads is that Tom Brady is the greatest QB of all-time. Heck, the likes of Steven A. Smith conceded that Tom is the best ever...and Shannon Sharp of all people called him the greatest football player in the history of the game. Chris Carter said that the Patriots have surpassed the Steelers as the greatest dynasty of all-time. Nobody, except the butt sore Marshall Faulk, brings up cheating...and he's snickered at when he does. The Patriots are booed out of respect. Roger Goodell is booed because people see him for the corrupt stuffed shirt that he is. BB is universally hailed as the GOAT of coaches...not a cheat. The absurdity of Deflategate has led people to minimizing spygate for the overblown media created scandal that it was...instead of speculating that the league covered up some sort of far reaching cheating scandal. Greatness as shown by consistently winning an average of 12 games a season for 15 years...going to 6 straight conference championships, and winning SBs on a regular basis cannot be denied. Whining that it's all because of "cheating" is such an indefensible position that it's become laughable.

However, when it comes to Joe Shmoe who is not a Pats fan, or not from Michigan, it is isn't true.

Even "Joe Shmoe" from Michigan knows...but won't admit it, because he has nothing else. Besides, who cares what a few Patriot hating idiots think? Marshall Faulk is the only sports media talking head who still whines about the Pats cheating on occasion. Everyone else hardly refers to it any longer...because the Pats' dominance over the BB era has rendered it ridiculous.

Pats fans AND people from Michigan know, AND say, it was a frame job. The Michigan people do it because Brady is from the Univ. of Michigan. The REST of the country are mostly "Joe Shmoes" and are just either jealous or stupid. Who cares? It bothers me a little, but then again, so what? The talking heads are almost universally now not "Joe Shmoes" and recognize the dominance and the greatness of TB and BB.

I believe the Joe Shmoes are just doing it to get under Pat fans skins. They know we don't like it. So they obnoxiously repeat themselves.
Here in Dallas the sports station down here sniffed it out. You know most Cowboy fans know about it but they continue to say tainted because the Pats are starting to take over the "America's team" mantra. Any storied franchise feels threatened by the Pats current run because that means their team gets bumped further down the line in top franchises of all time. It should be about Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Dallas, Oaklany, Green Bay and San Fransico. Nope, it's about the Pats now and it drives them crazy.
The other thing to think about is Roger ain't appreciated by other fans either. They don't believe in him.
Side note but kinda funny. I won my fantasy football league this year and we get together for a party during the Super Bowl. An Indy fan was there. He got pretty wasted as the Pats were falling more and more behind. He was well stewed when the Pats won and he said aloud, I can't atand Brady winning another Super Bowl"! He was so defeated.

People in Chicago now where I'm working all say Tom Brady is the greatest ever. That SB win convinced them. A lady that is a steelers fan says she hates the pats cause they own the steelers. She said she hates when they have to play us.

I'm finding that Tom Brady has become a household name nationally, I was watching a TV show last week and someone mentioned him and his Super Bowl comeback. Sometimes I forget not only how amazing that game was, but how many people watched it. Think about it, millions of Americans watched that game, his performance, that comeback...kids that watched that game will mention it 15 years from now when they grow up and become professional athletes (the lucky ones that will). That's pretty damn cool when you think about it. We live in an age where every camera angle is covered, dissected, edited and put on YouTube...and the biggest game, the greatest comeback, had Tom Brady at the center of it.
