Nah. The Steelers are a decent organization. They've actually won their fair share of SB's since 1969, and a couple in the past decade or so. I think we should reserve our laughing to the Jests. Plenty of things to laugh at with those idiots although they did have an uncharacteristically good draft.

I used to respect Tomlin as a tough, hard nosed coach but over the past few years he has become a total jealous whiny baby. Seriously, this guy gets butthurt by everything nowadays. Envy and jealousy is an incurable disease.

A thread with that name I would support.

Envy and jealousy is an incurable disease. my feelings exactly. I was of the opinion Tomlin was top 7 coaches in the league at one time. coaches on emotion, and often gets burned on X's and O's. I would have expected him to handle the locker room differently than it has been handled over the past half dozen or so years. there seems to be a "great 8" set of franchises in the NFL..of which the Steelers are members. Rooney passing, Tomlin not winning enough. Rothlsberg aging/threatening to walk away. Will be interesting franchise to watch over the next few years

This goes back to the 2001 AFC Championship Game, when the Steelers already had their "Super Bowl Shuffle" video in the can for their upcoming Super Bowl trip. They lost. Afterwards in the locker room at least one player promptly bragged that, although they had lost, they were the best team on the field that day.
At the kickoff game next year, the Steelers called a timeout with a few seconds remaining in the game, just so that they could score a touchdown in a losing effort.
In 2014 the Steelers scored a coup, signing free agent LeGarrette Blount away from the Patriots for a big signing bonus. Mike Tomlin promptly doghoused Blount. Blount reacted to this. Tomlin fired Blount for complaining. Blount went back to the Patriots the very next day, helped beat the Steelers next Sunday and went on to be the bell cow in a Super Bowl run.

RESPONSE: And the Steelers and the media implied that there was a conspiracy between Blount and the Patriots to pull this off. Whiners!! LOL!!!

Will be interesting franchise to watch over the next few years It seems like it all started with him interfering with Jacoby Jones kickoff return. Since then, he has done nothing but cry. And to top it off he can't control his own coaching staff, Joey Porter on and off the field trouble, Todd Haley problems with Big Ben problems. He has turned weak. He went from being a legit tough, no nonsense kind of guy to now crying about everything. I hope the Pats just continue to beat the crap out of him until he retires. Hopefully the Pats destroy the Steelers in December!

The steelers are a great franchise and probably will always be as long as the Rooneys own them. Tomlin is another story. He's always out coached by BB when they play and he whines wnd makes excuses every time we beat them. Tomlin is further embarrassing himself here. Love how Terry Bradshaw said he wasn't a good coach and I agree. Just look at how Brady picks that team apart every time they play each other. You wod think that Tomlin would learn and make adjustments to at least slow them down but he keeps the same approach with the same results. It won't get any better for them next year either. The Patriots offense should be even better and Ben looks like he's slowing down.
Great franchise but a mediocre coach at best.

The Patriots offense should be even better and Ben looks like he's slowing down. Great franchise but a mediocre coach at best. I would agree that it's kind of silly to denigrate the Stillers as an organization. They've got the pedigree and it speaks for itself, but the criticisms of Tomlin are valid, particularly as a game-day coach. Worse (to me) than his unwillingness or inability to vary his approach is his staunch defense of himself in the face of perfectly legitimate criticism. Asked about this very thing by a presumably friendly (in context) media, after Bitchburgh was once again blasted out of the playoffs by the Pats ... Tomlin responded that he didn't have the personnel to defend Brady and the Pats any other way. Way to throw your whole team (and your general manager) under the bus there, coach. The Rooneys are famous, of course, for taking the long view, and have had only three head coaches since 1969. Think about that for a minute. When we joke about franchises like New Jersey (green) and Cleveland, stability -- or lack thereof -- tends to be the watchword. The Stillers are models of continuity and, as stated, have the hardware to prove its effectiveness. I just can't help thinking that Tomlin is reaping more benefit from that business model than the organization is getting from him.

The problem is that it cheapens the Jests thread of laughs by making it a common thing. Also the steelers are mostly a decent org. In spite of their coaches a-h antics like when in interfered with a play on the field... who does that - outside of the jests?
