One thing is for sure. We don't need a QB!

I don't think this team has much chance of making the playoffs, but honestly I'm enjoying watching it more than I've enjoyed watching recent Patriot teams. I just have a good feeling we're building something for the future now. Last year was just a filler year and the last couple of years Brady was here I was anxious for them to move on to the future. I've been a Patriots fan since the 1970s. What we witnessed in the Brady years was an aberration, not the norm. I get a sense that a lot of younger fans don't understand what football is most of the time. It isn't being a dynasty. It's having to scrape and scrap for every win. I see 2008 all over again. I see a team that will need help on that final Sunday and a team nobody thinks will be an easy out if they squeak in. They've played two of the best teams in the NFL very tight this season. They just need to find their consistency. That and Mac's continued development makes them a tough team, albeit not a serious contender.

He is so much more likeable than Tom Brady! He is so humble!

One thing is for sure. We don't need a QB! Mac has been better than all these other rookie QBs. The guy just needs some time and for these guys to get open. I wanna see them open it up more though.

It seems like a long time since anyone around the Patriots was celebrating moral victories. What next, hanging AFC Championship Participant banners in Foxboro if they ever make it back to that game?

He needs to get stronger too. I think the pick six was purely fatigue. The fumble could happen to anyone. He got the wind knocked out of him AND his bell rung!

The only guy that comes close to mac has been Lawrence. Jags will have a bunch of cap space on 2022 compare to us. Bill has to hit on the draft picks .

GM has never been any good because Brady was responsible for wins, even when not on the field.

I don’t care about record or playoff results, I want to see perpetual improvement… the results will take care of themselves. Stay healthy, get better.

If mac can do what he did in 4th Q, why were they holding him back in 2nd and third. That was just waste of possessions.

Do you think it's a coincidence Brady had so many 4qtr come backs and wins by way of FG yet had never thrown a TD in the 1st qtr of 9 SB appearances with the Pats?

I shouldn’t be complaining about the game we weren’t supposed to win which we came inches close to winning

They can rebound against the hapless Jests next week I hope so. But they lost to the Dolphins who look terrible and almost got beat by the Texans who got destroyed today. I feel good about the Jets... But I wouldn't put my money on it.

Penalty by Ferentz wiped 7 points off the Board on Meyers TD, and then on Top of that we allowed a Sack and a Fumble lost a good chance for at least 3 points on that drive. Following that drive, Dallas got 3 points. a 10 point swing on ONE penalty. 6 points minimum. Watch the games closer, you'll understand talent is important, but Dumb and undisciplined play will always will cause you to lose. 1 play is killing us. And Talent has nothing to do with it. Just not concentrating enough for the situations.

There are two things I want to see:
The O-line get healthier (or better). Right now, that's their biggest problem on offense. They have good running backs, good-enough receivers and TEs, and Jones is showing he can manage a game even as a rookie.
The defense start defending the pass better. I'm okay with their run defense. But they've been bad against the pass. They need more pressure on the QB and better coverage downfield.
I think if you can fix those two things, the team gets a lot more competitive. I'm hoping some of the problems are just that there are a lot of new players who aren't used to playing with each other, are still learning the schemes, and need to get better at communicating on the field. If those are the problems, practice, coaching, and experience with each other will help solve them.

Welcome to the world of Patriots Fandom pre 2001!!!!! I was a season ticket holder for a number of those pre 2001 seasons and this team is definitely not them. We've just gone toe to toe with 2 of the best teams in the league (TB and Dal) and came within a hair of pulling off each game. It's not like we are getting smoked in any of these games like we so often did in those "pre-dynasty" days I remember the beginning of the (I think) 1995 season where we had 3 games in the first 6 where we scored 1 FG in each. It sucks to come up short but I've found a lot of the games this year to be entertaining (although admittedly VERY, VERY frustrating). I guess there is more and more room on the Pats bandwagon after the fair weather fans jump ship. That is until the Pats become good again and they return and say "I'm their biggest fan!" Lost all faith?? What a bunch of horse crap!

Lost all faith?? What a bunch of horse crap! My neighbour's kid who's a freshman in college this year is a huge Patriots fan. (I even took him and his dad to Gillette pre-covid for a game.) Anyway, I said something about Brady in 2001 just assuming he had seen Brady then and he reminded me he wasn't even born then. He doesn't remember 2003 and 2004. I forget sometimes that a lot of young fans have no idea what pre-Brady football was like. Heck, some don't even know what Brady's first few years were like.

Often the hold is the only reason that play happens. As you say, Mac was about to get clobbered.
