Despite what fans want, the coaches and players are trying to win the game. That is what they are paid to do. Not appease fans' desires for a high draft pick!

I never root for the Pats to lose. Hope for a good win, with good play—as always. If they lose being competitive, well that is how the ball bounces. Just do not get desiring a loss from some here just for a higher draft pick that may not solve any problems.

All these young whippersnappers hoping for the Pats to lose clearly grew up knowing nothing but the Brady years. We old guys know that wins occur less than 50%* of the time (for long stretches, sometimes much less than that)—and every good game and every win is to be desired and cherished.
I have no interest in watching bad football just to see the team win draft picks.
__________ * Ties and losses together are more than 50%.

As much as it would benefit the Pats to lose I couldn’t stomach losing to the Jets. Sorry, I hope they humiliate the Jets if they happen to lose the consolation prize is the 2nd pick. I could care less. A W means likely zappe and Jimmy G or whoever as bridge QB next year which means another middling season.

Literally the Thanos meme. "I've won.....but at what cost?" Yup, they absolutely need a qb or they'll never win. It's no guarantee that a top 3 picked qb will be the right guy buy the chances are better as we've seen with the Texans. Good news is there are a lot of talented QBs in this years draft, and my guy is Jayden Daniels, who you can get at 4/5 probably. But if we fall to 6/7 then we'll probably need to trade up a spot or two to get him which is risky. So much riding on this stupid game ugh I just wish I could sit back and enjoy BB's potentially final game.

Are fans supposed to just shut up and fall in line? I wish the players nothing but the best but I want whats best for the franchise. 1 game is 1 game. We're not playing for a playoff spot here.

Exactly. We old guys know there's a possibility we won't even make it to the draft. I'd rather go out with a win

Sorry I didn't grow up during the bad years, but my dad did and he's explained it to me. Especially the year they were at Harvard Stadium. I understand things could get worse. I want to put the franchise in the best possible position going into the offseason. We're not in year 6 or 7 of doing this, this has been the only year it has truly been this bad. We may never get another chance at a top 3 pick again. I've already accepted we're winning this game though because the Jets are trash.

You guys overestimate the probability of top drafted QBs—or really any player—paying off. Every year people put their faith in the draft. Most years, people are disappointed.

I watch football games for the games themselves, not simply for the win-loss record.

We don't "desire" a loss dude, its not like we're sitting here on our couches giddy about the idea of seeing this team stink. What we want is drinking that cold medicine that we all despised as kids. Of course it's not ideal, we'd like to just sit there and be healthy and enjoy ourselves. But sometimes to fix something, you have to deal with that terrible taste in the short-term so you can feel better in the long-term.

I'd like to see this team contend again before I am gone. They won't be good team until they get a good qb again. Their chances of getting a good qb are much better with a top 3 pick, not a guarantee but better. Nobody will remember if they win 5 games over 4. They won't contend again until they get a good qb.

If we had three 0-17 seasons in a row, we'd have three number 1 draft picks. Maybe all our fans could root for that! Let's play to win the draft!
