Rooting for #2 spot.
Hope Trevor Siemian has the game of his life.
The sad part is, that if this is the last game BB will be coach of the Patriots.
I'm thinking he should get 1 more year; but what do I know....
If he's gone, maybe trade for Vrabel or get Harbaugh out of his UM contract? Jerod Mayo then should become DC?

How can the pats stay at least number 3? Just by losing? I want the 3rd at least.

fwiw, I am south of Foxboro. Providence. roads are pretty clean. maybe 2 inches. some misty drizzle right now. 36 degree. heading up around 11:30 (Uber) assuming 95N will be pretty clean. I do not expect the conditions to be a factor. should be dry. clean field. 35-40 degrees come game time.

As much as it would benefit the Pats to lose I couldn’t stomach losing to the Jets. Sorry, I hope they humiliate the Jets if they happen to lose the consolation prize is the 2nd pick.

Sitting in the lobby of the Patriots Place Hilton Garden Inn. I met a young family going to their first NFL game. The four kids range down from 11 to 1.
They are going to the game as guests of Jerod Mayo, who was impressed with the wife’s social work.
It is a very nice thing that Jerod Mayo did.

I never root for the Pats to lose. Hope for a good win, with good play—as always.

I agree. Let the Jets have their day today. Lose the battle but win the war! If we get the right QB then is could mean another great run.

The offense is already in ‘Head in Bag’ territory, how much worse can getting better picks in exchange for a meaningless loss make it?

We just know the Pats are winning today. My question is what would it take then for us to at least stay in the top 5?

One time does not make a habit! Today is certainly that one time. I don't know if you're one of the people who grumbled about victories over the Stillers or Denver, but it's not "one time." It's this time. And next time it will be that time. And every time there will be perfectly logical reasons why it's okay not to try. The idea of accepting -- indeed, desiring -- defeat before you even start should be foreign to all competitors all the time.

I expect and would hope the players and coaches give it their all. But yes, I am would like them to lose today in a valiant effort.

We just know the Pats are winning today. My question is what would it take then for us to at least stay in the top 5? They'd need the chargers, giants, titans, to win. Plus they've got the cardinals and Washington with 4 wins as well. If they beat the Jets they'll likely fall to 5-7.

"I've won.....but at what cost?" Yup, they absolutely need a qb or they'll never win. It's no guarantee that a top 3 picked qb will be the right guy buy the chances are better as we've seen with the Texans.
