you are proving the point that Waddle/Hill, Chase/Higgins, Brown/Smith and Diggs/Davis made a huge difference Josh Allen got better in year two, no Diggs. In fact he had the same weapons as the year before. Tua got better in year two, no Tyreek. I could pull the QB Ratings for every good QB in history, and it will show they improved from their rookie year to their sophomore year, then the overwhelming majority of the time from their sophomore year to their third year. And you think this is entirely due to the addition of a single superweapon? You are proving it might be time to step away from the keyboard because scotch o'clock is never your finest hour.

Allen was horrible year 1 and average year 2. year 3 with Diggs his comp% went up 10 percentage points and TD's from 20 to 37 Diggs made a HUGE difference shall we look at Hurts and the ipact AJ Brown had?

Did Allen improve dramatically from year one to year two or not? Is it Rkarp's assertion that rookie QB's enter the league finished products out of college and don't improve individually as players? Again... silly.

Answer the question... is it Rkarp's assertion that rookie QB's (players) enter the league finished products out of college and don't improve individually as players?

Diggs dropped off in terms of his production last season. But was this a function of his skills declining with age (he'll turn 31 in November), or of him getting constantly double-teamed? Here's a quick biography on him, along with his stats: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stefon_DiggsYou be the judge. the judge decided. 4 seasons with 11+ wins 9 playoff wins in 4 seasons 1200 + yards 4 seasons straight 8+ TD's 4 seasons straight 4 pro bowl nods Diggs did what he was supposed to do. if he was a locker room cancer or if Allen grew weary of him, I cannot comment But, but, but, how can this be? Don't you think that Josh Allen losing his OC Brian Daboll had something to do with Allen falling off? Allen grew weary of Diggs? How can this be? Didn't Josh Allen transform into a superstar once he got a stud WR like Diggs? While were at it, didn't Brady blossom once he got with Randy Moss and Wes Welker? According to you, in New England, it was all Tom Brady. Gronk, Hernandez, Edelman, Belichick, White, and the OL didn't really matter. But now you're stating that Diggs was very important to the success of the Buffalo Bills and Josh Allen over the past four years. How can it be that Diggs was so important to the Bills' success when you claim that Brady was the whole show in New England? How can this be, Karpie?

Precisely why you need a great quarterback. Josh Allen and Diggs were a very formidable combination for the last two seasons, and as a team had some great success up there in buffalo. Now at 31, and with this guy being a headache, they traded him for a decent pick - and now they’ll draft some more receivers and most likely by mid season they’ll be rolling again (because of the QB). Meanwhile let’s say they had Mac Jones - Diggs would have concussions and separated shoulders right now from all the errant balls Mac sailed over his head - we’d get nothing for Diggs, have to release him for nothing, and have Mac ruining whoever else’s we brought in. QB matters.

Hurts. Dak. Cousins. Goff.

Reminds of when the Pats offloaded Moss. When the juice was no longer worth the squeeze. Moss was a couple years older but both were declining and both are a pain in the ass. You put up with it until it’s not worth the hassle.
Not sure how it will play out with a young QB in Houston if he doesn’t get a lot of targets.

Allen was horrible year 1. he was slightly less horrible year 2. having great weapons simply annihilates your Mac hatred and Bill can do no wrong position. but the facts are pretty clear. the PAts have had poor weapons, OL play and offensive coaching for a while. their record shows weapons in todays NFL are difference makers.

Diggs opened 2023 with 5 games out of the first 6 with over 100 yards rcving. the game he did not have 100 yards, he did catch 7 passes on 7 attempts. he also had double digit targets in 6 of the first 8 games. he had 2 double digit targets the remainder of the season. still put up 1100 yards. 8 td's. 67% catch %. injured? lost interest? defenses figure him out? simply a pain in the ass?

Yes, well that’s how it goes. He’s a human being in decline. For wide receivers it usually happens right about Diggs’ age. Moss had a great year in 2009. A typical Randy Moss year statistically. By 2010, he was toast.

Texans with a lot of mouths to feed, but they have a talented play caller at OC. lets see if Stroud can handle Diggs yelling at him on the sidelines. TExans with a roster that has to be a top 4 or 5 in the AFC to get to the SB

Bills were probably done with him the second he dropped that long pass agaisnt the Chiefs that likely would have given them a great chance to win that game, and perhaps an elusive Super Bowl.

I think you are a little mixed up Tex. look at Toms stats from 01-06 and again from 07-21. his rating jumps from high 80's to high 90's-low 100's with improved weapons

Texans have a young offense, and adding 2 proven vets like this I think is good work and a good complement to what they have.

So this must mean the Texans are headed to the Super Bowl. Besides Stroud for all that Houston received in the Watson trade, plus their own high draft picks which they “earned” it does not quite seem like a super team to me.

You’re talking out both sides of your mouth again. QB’s throw the ball to receivers, not the other way around. Rookie QB’s either get better or fade away until they’re out of the league. Mac had perfect conditions in 2021 and folded after 3/4’s of the season. Then he only got weaker, Zappe did really well in 2022… he didn’t have Mac’s problems. By 2023 the offensive line was an injury mess, but Mac was already toast by that point… it started his rookie season. Mac didn’t make it for the same reason Joe Burrow, Justin Herbert and others did… they are mentally tough and Mac is mentally weak.

Besides Stroud for all that Houston received in the Watson trade, plus their own high draft picks which they “earned” it does not quite seem like a super team to me. Let’s see if they have super powered offensive line, ST’s and defense. If they have these things ^ on top of their franchise caliber QB and superweapons then I will agree… they’re likely going to a Super Bowl if healthy. In short, I’ll wait until I see the final roster at the end of preseason. Joe Burrow was a franchise QB with Superweapons and a great defense… what kept him from winning a SB was his offensive line. Much like special teams doomed Aaron Rogers in 2022. People are sick of hearing me say it, but it takes an entire team.
