1) Continue to tank. Get the # 1 or 2 pick in the draft. 2) Fire Mayo, replace him with Mike Vrabel. 3) Fire Eliot Wolfe. Replace him with Vrables hand-picked GM. 4) Fire AVP, replace with Brian Dabol (after he is fired by the Giants). 5) Fire Covington replace with Brian Flores.
Draft or sign in FA a LT, a C, a RT, a huge DE, a run stuffing LB, and a pass rusher.

Add WR to that list…Maye would have had over 300 yards passing today and a couple TD’s if he had just average receivers. These guys are brutal. But I agree, love your list!

I like the idea of Flores as the HC better than DC. I’m not as sold on Vrabel as others. AVP has progressed with Maye fairly well considering the roster in front of him. If I’m being honest they need to move away from the entire BB tree. They need fresh ideas and different personalities leading this organization from top to bottom. They’ve gotten like the Redsox. The fanbase is greater than the on field product but owners ignore it as long as the fans keep paying. The NFL is a goldmine. I don’t foresee a FA LT coming to NE so it’s going to be draft. They should not get cute with this selection. They shouldn’t trade down with intentions of “maximizing value”. They should select their starting LT from day one next year in the draft. It won’t matter if it’s a “reach” at pick 1 or 2 because they will have their guy. When the season starts and he’s on the field playing no one will remember where he was selected by week 7 if he’s playing well. They really need a DT too. We don’t know what Baramore’s future holds. If there’s a FA WR I’d be looking hard.

This team badly needs a ton of draft assets to replenish the roster. Unless their stock skyrockets, picking Campbell or Banks at 1 would be bad business. Teams like Cleveland and Las Vegas may be interested in moving up to ensure they get one of the top QBs (Cam Ward and Shadeur Sanders) so I would be talking with them if I'm Wolf. I'm losing hope with Mayo, but I do believe Wolf CAN be a good GM, despite his mistakes his first offseason.

I'm losing hope with Mayo, but I do believe Wolf CAN be a good GM, despite his mistakes his first offseason. Just curious…what makes you think he can be a good GM? Cause I’d love to be able to have that feeling too For one, even though it doesn't feel like it, the guy has been around NFL front offices for a long long time. Not just his dad's. He has real connections with other GMs in the league because of that. That's more important than fans realize when making deals. I also think Wolf was put in a tough spot with this roster coming into the offseason; with aging veterans and not a lot of young talent coming through the pipeline. He did make some real blunders and missteps (mainly not prioritizing the offensive line) but its not like he didn't try at all to fix some of the biggest issues. He did go hard after Calvin Ridley and was even willing to overpay to get him here, hindsight is 20:20 on whether that would've been a good move ultimately, but thats something Bill would've never even considered no matter how dire the situation at receiver was. He also did agree to a trade with the Niners to get Aiyuk WITHOUT giving up a future 1st round pick and was willing to pay him the type of contract that BA was seeking. Its not his fault that Aiyuk simply wasn't willing to come here, that was out of his control. People might call drafting Maye a layup, and I understand that, but I think he still gets credit if Maye pans out because he didn't HAVE to draft Maye. He could've traded down. It's not the same as being at 1 where Caleb Williams was. The rest of the draft class is not looking so great right now so time will tell on him as a draft evaluator, but hitting on the QB is the most important part so if he nailed that, then this draft was still a win. Trading a malcontent in Judon, an expiring deal, and getting a 3rd round pick back still for him is definitely a feather in his cap; not every GM in the league could've pulled that off. I'm also curious to see what he does at the deadline. Coming from the Green Bay system, I believe, is a good thing. They're not a dynasty like the Chiefs but the Packers are consistently good every season and believe in drafting and developing above all else, the healthiest way to build a contender. This upcoming offseason will tell us a lot more on Wolf and whether or not he's got the goods. By year 2 of the Wolf rebuild, we should see the fruits of his labor pay off far more than year 1 if he ends up getting it right. If not, then we'll know he's not the guy. Right now I think there's a better chance of him becoming a good GM than Mayo becoming a good head coach.

7 games into a team rebuild and we're ready to go full Little Big Horn on the staff. OK. Yup. When the head coach calls out the team after 7 games for being soft and doesn't realize that is a direct reflection of his leadership, time to go "little big horn." Unless you prefer the alternative, watching a soft football team getting pushed around and having their lunch money taken every Sunday.

Brother, after 7 games, rookie head coach, first year of a true rebuild? We can agree to disagree - much too early to jettison the whole thing.

as long as Mayo is saying the same message in the locker room as he is in the media, I am fine with the comments. players getting called out is fine. lets see who respoinds and lets see who shrivels. I said months ago, the roster was a 75% turnover needed in 2 years. they are 50% in year 1. who will be back are the players that show they are not soft

Why risk missing the guy you want? Will Campbell is projected as a top 10. Just select him and move on. Maybe trade up and go for DT Mason Graham late in the first if he’s still sitting there.

Rod Rust wasn’t given a 2nd year. Maybe he could have turned things around if given the chance. Not bloody likely.
In business you are as good as your product. They aren’t making IPhones here; the product is the players (talent) on the field. The organization from top to bottom is responsible for that product. If there’s a better group (GM/HC) to improve the product it would be irresponsible to let the deterioration continue.

We'll have a good idea by the end of the season if there is a chance they turn this around. You can tell when a team is starting to buy in. You can see when they are playing hard and leaving nothing on the field. You can see when they are playing smart and disciplined. And you can also see when it's a shit show. If by season's end it's still a shit show we need to clean house and anyone still preaching patience needs to lay off the crack pipe. Likewise, if we see signs the team is turning a corner then anyone still wanting to clean house needs to put down the crack pipe. Gotta let the season play out…as ugly as it might be.

I disagree. yes, we should have a better idea by seasons end. but this staff deserves more a chance with their own roster than 10 ish games we should have a better idea on go forward players, draft needs and free agency needs. 6 games into next season, the seat starts to get hot if the team is not showing results

IMHO, you and anyone else who thought like you have a "get out of jail free" card. Anyone who predicts a certain outcome from day 1, and then sees exactly what they predicted, can say whatever they want without taking flak here…until they get proven wrong. And the new regime isn't close to proving you wrong. I hope they do. I'm not in the mood for another reset. But in the here and now you are looking right.
