I heard Kraft is forcing Bill to keep Brady like he forced him to cut AB for no reason and forced him to trade Jimmy.

where we disagree, as we always have, is the "proven" part what you say is "proven", isn't The all-day meeting reported in Wicker-sham's piece never happened, not only according to Kraft and the principles involved, but BB was in New York City the weekend of the supposed all day meeting. Seth couldn't answer these discrepancies when he showed up on WEEI. Kraft forced BB to trade Garopollo “Until Monday at the trade deadline, I believe that was Oct. 30, the last time I talked to Bill about Jimmy’s situation was in a group with Bill, Jonathan, Nick Caserio… a small group of us, I think in June. That is the last time I talked to Bill about it. It's a total fabrication and fiction. I am telling you, it’s fiction. When you’re lucky enough to have someone exceptional, you let them do their job and you get out of the way.” - Bob Kraft
"I was told more than once that Robert Kraft didn't tell Bill Belichick he wasn’t allowed to trade or release Tom Brady." - Tom Curran
"Here’s what I know from sources that are impeccable, trading Brady was never on the table.” - Jerry ThorntonBrady pressured the Pats to trade Jimmy
Jimmy told the Pats he wanted to be a starter and was moving on. "Palpable sense" that 2017 is last year together for Belichick/Brady/Kraft "We're still here." Belichick became good friends with Goodell
Laughable. "Lingering sadness" hangs over team
Really, does it seem this way after all the rings, hugs and "I love you's" since then? Brady, Kraft hugged in full view of the team
And when do hugs not happen in this locker room? BB also hugged Brady, said he loved him and Tom returned the sentiment. The TB12 Center locked Garoppolo out of the facility
Both the Providence Journal's Mark Daniels and the Boston Herald's Jeff Howe tweeted that Garoppolo visited TB12 even before his shoulder injury. He even had his own key at one point. Brady didn't like that Belichick never named him Patriot of the Week
There is no Patriot player of the week award, it doesn't exist. They asked Seth about this on WEEI and still he insisted the award does exist. They have practice player of the week and that's reserved for practice squad guys. So no one on the active roster would have ever won that award. Brady got blamed for Chris Hogan's shoulder injury
Zo debunked this. Brady wanted teammates to call him "sir"
Anyone who believes this is a clown. Gronk was shopped
Gronk was in the middle of contract negotiations, also Seth didn't break this news. Alex Guerreo was intrusive to the team
Wicker-sham didn't break this news either, someone else did. Alex pissed off the training and medical staff and BB had to play mediator. "Here’s what I know. From sources that are impeccable: –Trading Brady was never on the table. –The Patriots made efforts to extend Garoppolo. But he wasn’t taking their offer. He wanted to be a starter. –Mr. Kraft didn’t force a trade. Nobody makes Belichick do anything, ever. This was no exception. –Belichick was conflicted about the trade. It’s been a tough situation. But there was just no way to keep both QBs. –No one is leaving. No one is retiring. Not Brady. Not Belichick. They are both under contract and here to stay. –This whole phony report is coming from outside the organization and the people behind it have been bragging this was coming.
That last part is key. Think about it. If you’re a Patriots insider with knowledge about what’s going on in their building, who are you going to go to with a sexy story? Adam Schefter probably. One of the trusted beat guys like Mike Reiss perhaps. The last guy you’re going to leak it to is Wickersham, who’s tried to win a Pulitzer in Fake Patriots Journalism and discredited everything you’ve ever accomplished in your career. He’s the guy on the Contacts list of everyone with a grudge against the team, and the first one they call with unsubstantiated rumors and complete made up nonsense. He’s a useful idiot. Tom Brady apparently has at least two demands for any team that wants to sign him in free agency Teams better pay attention to these demands if they want to sign Tom Brady John Breech mugshotby John Breech @johnbreech 46 mins ago • 3 min read
If any NFL team is interested in signing Tom Brady this offseason, they might want to check out his list of demands first, because apparently, the Patriots quarterback is asking for a few things that no other free agent has ever really asked for. According to Dianna Russini of ESPN, Brady has two big "wants" that he'll be looking for in his new team.
"Some of the things Brady wants: Control over roster [and] he wants to be part of making decisions on the play calling," Russini said this week on ESPN's "Get Up."
Apparently, any team that wants to sign Brady the quarterback is also going to have to agree to take on Brady the general manager. A player asking for any type of control over the roster is absolutely unheard of, but in Brady's case, it actually makes a little bit of sense. Brady knows he only has one or two seasons left, and you can bet that he doesn't want to waste away on a team that mismanages its roster. By demanding some roster control, Brady can push his new team to go out and acquire players who can help them win.
For instance, if Brady signed with the Chargers and thought they needed offensive line help to win, he could use his new roster control power to implore the team to sign or draft an offensive lineman. From a general manager's perspective, if Brady's decision to bring in a lineman doesn't work out, you basically have plausible deniability with the team's ownership, "Hey, Brady's plan didn't work out, but he's now retired, so let's go back to my plan."
If Brady had roster control in New England last season, it's a virtual guarantee that he would have used it to go out and add a few weapons to the Patriots lackluster offense. Speaking of New England, that's also the one place where Brady isn't going to get any control of the roster. Patriots coach Bill Belichick has the final say on all roster matters and there's basically a zero percent chance he's going to give any of that control to Brady, which is probably at least one reason why Brady hasn't re-signed with the Patriots just yet.
Even if Brady isn't going to get any type of roster control, he'd probably at least like to get some assurances from Belichick that the team plans to make some offensive improvements this offseason, which could be an issue, because Belichick doesn't seem like the kind of guy who likes to share his offseason building plans.
As for Brady's second demand, it isn't that surprising and it's something that most teams should be willing to allow. If Brady wants a say in play calling, then you give him a say in play calling. No one reads a defense like Brady and he's proven over his 20-year career that he can put his offense in the best position to succeed. As a matter of fact, if I'm an NFL coach, I'd be more than happy to give Brady whatever play-calling decisions he wants to have.
So are there any teams out there that would actually agree to these demands? Russini specifically mentioned one.
"I talked to Tampa Bay. They would love to have Tom Brady," Russini said. "They are willing to give Tom Brady the things he needs, he wants."
The Buccaneers make a lot of sense for a lot of reasons, and if you're wondering why, you can click here to find out. If you don't feel like clicking, here's a brief summary: They have a lot of offensive weapons, they have a lot of salary cap room to add any piece Brady needs and they have a 67-year-old coach who wants to win now. The next Super Bowl is also being played in Tampa, which would give Brady a chance to do something that no other player has ever done: Play a Super Bowl in their home stadium.
Anyway, if you want to stay up to date on every rumor about Brady between now and the start of free agency on March 18, make sure to click here to check out our free agency hub for the Patriots quarterback.

Tom wants control over personnel and play calling...
If he had personnel control last year he would have gone out and grabbed AB, and when that didn't work out he would have (pouted until they) overpaid for Sanu.
"If" he had a say in play calling, it isn't a question. He had a say in play calling but also weekly gameplans... and play calling sucked. Everything was a 5 step drop, spread sets, no huddle and it was easy to defend, it was predictable and tendency laden.
When they started running a simplified offense, using screens and quick developing plays around the Bengals game the offense improved slightly... only to eventually regress and fall apart, this despite the OL and TE room getting healthy for the first time all season.
Time to question whether this is still a good idea.
Tennessee looking to lock up Tannehill, SF sticking by Jimmy, Oakland backing Carr as the starter... well there's always Tampa Bay and the Chargers.

Sounds like Belichick is mentally weak letting Tom Brady "whine" and "pout" all the time. Is this where you tell us all what we witnessed last season isn't what actually happened? i think most people saw an offense that was missing Gronk, AB, a mentally healthy Gordon, a healthy Edelman, a healthy Sanu, and had a beat to shit o line, no Andrews, no Develin, no TE which lead to no run game, and a Qb who lead the league in throw aways as a result.

People can argue that BB dropped the ball on the TE situation last season but that's not the only reason for the offense's less than stellar play.
I don't think he could account for I.Wynn being out the first half of the season. Devlin, then Johnson out for the season. Ben Watson out the first four games. Izzo and LaCosse out at various times. Andrews getting blood clots and out for the season. J.Gordon falling off the wagon (although he never should have been counted on). Edelman being banged up most of the season. Sanu getting and playing hurt. Brady getting hurt. And then there's AB ...
So, Brady wants to be involved in personnel decisions? Can he guarantee they won't get injured?

Tampa is going to make him an offer he might not be able to refuse. www.thescore.com/nfl/news/1963826/report-buccaneers-willing-to-give-brady-control-over-roster"They are willing to give Tom Brady the things he needs, he wants. And some of those things that Brady wants: Control over the roster; he wants to be part of the playbook, or at least making decisions on the play-calling." Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times also believes the Buccaneers will go all-in on the New England Patriots signal-caller A different TB -- Teddy Bridgewater -- makes a lot more sense than Tom Brady, in TB (Tampa Bay)

If this is actually true then it sounds like Brady is trying to force his way out of town because he has to know BB isn't going to give him that kind of power.
And now he wants to do Josh's job too?

Is Tampa gonna fix that OL? Not exactly a great running team. 80 million in cap space for the o-line and Ronald Jones came on at the end of the year. Took him almost 2 full years to acclimate. Scuttlebut from reading a bunch of stuff is they are really high the OT from Georgia in the 1st round and are interested in Matt Breida to pair with Jones in the backfield.

Breida with Brady is scary to think about. We never had a RB with that kind of speed. Evans Godfrey Howard Brate and they could grab Algholar or a slot. Tommy happy. Tommy very happy. Plus they have a lot of money to throw at the o line. Imo Brady would make them instant contenders in a weak division.

I voted that Brady will stay but if I could change my vote I would say Indy now. Haven’t heard anything about them being interested but they would seem to have everything that Brady could ask for. I just don’t think he’s coming back anymore.

TB can easily clarify that he will demand no such thing. It is a non-factor in normal contract negotiations, so it will not be unless he wants it to be a factor. He cannot even deny knowing that this rumor, if it is a rumor, is going around. He has people who I am sure have their ears on the ground.

While a GOAT on the field, he is a bit of a goat off the field. Tom Brady is very polished when playing and when at the podium after a game. In other situations he is awkward and tone deaf. He doesn't get that fans would like to know. He doesn't get his celebrity status. In his mind he doesn't understand why anyone wants to know something that is simply between him and the team. I'm surmising this based on a history of comments by him.

It’s not the first time this has been brought up and nobody’s denying it so I tend to think it’s probably true. I don’t see any GM giving any player that kind of influence but maybe someone is really desperate out there. Maybe Jason Licht and Bruce Arians? I’d tell him to f’off. Sign somewhere else. Or, how about we have someone take some of your snaps? Would you like that?

not only was Wickersham right, unfortunately, so was Tom Brady Sr. this is not ending nicely, and it is unfortunate this is how Brady decided to go out. 20 years of what I deem greatness both on the field and off, is imo tarnished at how he is handling this situation. I still find him to be my most favorite football player ever, but am dismayed at how this is ending.
