They just picked the #3 player in the draft and you want him to sit? How are they going to know if they have Bryce Young or Marcus Stroud? It has been a looooooong time since they drafted this high so I think as a fan base we don’t understand how much of an impact a pick this high has to make right away. If I have time I might do it but without looking I bet 90-95 percent of the players taken over the last 10 years in the top 3 played right away. In all honestly Maye needs some time. What's great about him is he has the tools which cannot be taught. His shortcomings can be fixed though. You have to have patience. This guy isn't close to ready on leading an NFL offense. You play him now and he's done, ruined. So you think he is that mentally fragile? Many Qb’s started and struggled their 1st years and became successful QB’s.

Prediction: Jacoby and Drake compete for spots on the bench in training camp because neither wants to start behind this OL. Bailey Zappe is our week 1 starter

Look at all the first round QBs that have failed. Call it failed coaching or even a slow learner but they fail because they are put out there before they are ready.

Ask john elway and Peyton manning the top 2 and there are many more.

Wish you well and look forward to other banter with you.

Maye and Brissett obviously are locks do the Pats keep Zippy and/or Rourke?

This has been my issue with selecting the third QB from the start. They need players on the field. They traded out they could have gotten 3 top offensive starters in the top 34. After watching the second and third round unfold, they would have wasted those picks.

Who would you rather have playing behind an iffy O line? A veteran QB that understands how to help his o line and is probably more able to not get killed? Or a wide eyed rookie that is dealing with all kinds of new and for whom the game hasn't come close to slowing down?
I'd rather they get the O line fixed and operating well than throw the rookie in there just to get him killed. There is a reason Luck retired early!
