For those of you who feel that Steelers' head coach Mike Tomlin is a joke, in the article below, you'll fine some proof to hang your hat on. My comments are included therein, in bold black:
Steelers running back Le’Veon Bell did not report to training camp Thursday, and there are no signals from his camp about when, or if, he will arrive, Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Coach Mike Tomlin said there are consequences for Bell for not reporting on time, but the Steelers cannot punish him in any way because he is not under contract.
RESPONSE: Okay...then what are these "consequences" that you speak of, coach?
Bell has yet to sign his one-year contract for $12.12 million, the tender for running backs who received the franchise tag. But until he signs the tender, he is under no obligation to report.
Bell, who was recovering from sports hernia surgery this spring, also did not show up for OTAs or minicamp in May and June.
“There is no question we are a group that values the team-building process,” Tomlin said Thursday. “And doing it in this setting, so yes, there is value, and yes, there are consequences for not being here. That’s the reality of it.”
RESPONSE: Really? Sure, there are negative consequences to your team, coach. But what are the negative consequences that Bell faces?
What are those consequences?
“They’re untold as we sit here,” Tomlin said.
RESPONSE: Got it, coach. You'll tell us later...LOL!!!
“Obviously I would like for him to be here,” Tomlin said. “He is not. I am going to focus my energies on the guys who are. It’s an unfortunate circumstance, one that we’ll deal with, one that he’ll deal with. I’ve had good clean communication with him. I’ll keep the nature of that conversation between us. Rest assured he’ll be ready to play football. When he gets here, he gets here.
RESPONSE: Huh?? What are those negative consequences? Do you plan to trip him up during a scrimmage? Perhaps sit him out a couple of plays to show him who's boss? Or, are you going to call your team together in the locker room, call him an a-hole, and let your star WR Antonio Brown record it, and send him a copy o the recording? LOL!!!

If the Connor injury is serious does that make the Steelers have to make getting Bell into camp a priority? $$$$$$$$$$

If the Connor injury is serious does that make the Steelers have to make getting Bell into camp a priority? $$$$$$$$$$ No. Bell is scheduled to earn $12 million for this season alone. With his injury and substance abuse track record, can you really blame Steelers' management for balking at signing him to a lucrative, long term deal?
The Steelers are allegedly kicking the tires on various available RBs, as we speak: profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/08/01/steelers-kick-tires-on-possible-running-back-depth/

I know its just preseason and a few key starters were not playing but Wow! talk about not setting the edge and getting shoved back. I watched bits and pieces of the 1st half and it looked like the Steelers defense morphed into the 2014 Colts D. Lets hope that carries into the reg season

Apparently, the Patriots aren't the only AFC favorite that's going through some struggles. Today, the Pittsburgh Steelers were crushed at home by Jacksonville, 30-9, as Ben Roethlisberger threw five (5) interceptions, including two pick six passes. After the game, Steelers head coach, Trips Tomlin, was fuming! LOL!!!

I agree. Tomlin is a joke, but the Steelers aren't. You certainly can't put them in the same category as the jets. Top 3 AFC teams this season will be Pats, Steelers and Raiders. The Steelers will be a legit threat this season. Ouch - Not looking good with your call here.
